Our app was Scallops St. Jaques - Other than a mouth full of grit from one uncleaned scallop, the flavour was amazing. I was really turned off from that initial grit though, so was very trepidacious in consuming any more. My main was Duck with Cherry reduction. The duck was perfectly cooked inside, but I found that the skin was not crispy. It was served with some interesting sides - such as a basil/parm tomato and rice. My husband ordered the salmon with scallops and enjoyed it - but again was given the same sides as me. I would say for a $35 plate that you would want to present a complete dish that works together. The tomato was delicious, but was a stark contrast to the duck. The plating was also a little weird, with rice placed in three different parts around the center duck. I know this is nitpicking, but if I am paying that much, I expect a much more thought out dish rather than I have prepared these sides for every dish tonight.
I loved the atmosphere of the converted house, and the desserts (once we finally got the menu, had to ask twice) were fabulous. Overall we really enjoyed our meal, even with the few nitpicking downfalls.
