Hector's Bistro

This was the most enjoyable dinner we had in Antigua. The food was delicious. Especially the poutine potatoes with chimmi churri sauce. The faguzza pizza was also very good. Good beers on drought. Great service. Great atmosphere. We went on a Friday night and they had an incredibly talented duo (Bobby darling and grace). Could have stayed for hours but had to pack to leave.

I visited this restaurant twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Overall, the service was average, and the food was good and slightly above average in quality, though the prices are on the higher side. The dining environment is generally quiet and comfortable, and the courtyard itself is very beautiful. However, during my second visit I was seated at a table on a sloped surface with a pillar directly behind the chair, which made the seating quite uncomfortable. I think the table and seating layout in the courtyard could be improved. Overall, it is a pleasant place with good food and a nice atmosphere, but there is room for improvement in the seating design.

We love this place! We had dinner here the night We got into town and went back for breakfast two days later. The food is excellent and the restaurant is in an old spacious townhome that is really beautiful and interesting. The night we went there was live music that wasn't too loud and the musicians were first rate! I liked the library room for coffee or drinks.

Massive restaurant with beautiful outdoor seating area. Ordered the roasted tomatoes appetizer, beef bourguignon, and open tenderloin sandwich. The bread that came with the tomatoes was INCREDIBLE. Hot and soft. Amazing. I feel like I couldve eaten a few loaves by myself. The bread that came with the tenderloin sandwich was also amazing. The staff automatically split our plates so we could share, so photos of the sandwich and beef bourguignon are half portions. All of the food was delicious!

The best breakfast we’ve had in Antigua. The Gandhi Ranchero and the Waldorf & Salmon were so delicious. The orange juice and cortado were also excellent. Highly recommend.

Came here after hiking Acatenango. And the burger was just what i needed. Heavenly even. And the fries are perfectly crispy. Ive been back a few times and everything is great. Service is sooo attentive. Waiters are the nicest. Definitely recommend. Update: Just went back and ordered the fish of the day. It came over a mushroom risotto. And it was divineeeee! Oh my god exactly what i needed. This place never misses. Kudos chef.

I had dinner at this restaurant and the food was delicious. The service was not that good. Waiters took so long to take my order, and seemed to get confused with other tables’ orders. The atmosphere was quiet and the decoration is awesome. It’s very well located.

So I’ve been to Hector’s twice in the past three days because I really love it there!! The sandwiches are really good and fresh - I’m thinking they maybe bake the bread in house? I tried the roast beef sandwich on my first visit and the Don Corleone on my second. Both delicious. I also had fries when I went yesterday and the fries SLAPPED. The decor/ambience is super cute. I sat inside both times because the parlor area is so cute to me. The waitstaff is super friendly and welcoming and I feel comfortable bringing my laptop in to work. The playlist also hits- I love it! Additional plus - the bathrooms are really clean and well-kept. Hector’s has quickly won a place in my list of Antigua go tos. Minor ding - the cinnamon roll looked amazing on the menu but when I ordered it to try, I didn’t love it. I would’ve wanted it fluffier and softer (I did get it warmed up) with more of a moist icing than like dried crackly icing. But it’s all good there’s so much other stuff on the menu to try (the burger looks amazing) and I love the vibes there so I’ll definitely be back!!
