Are you on your way to Napa or Sonoma wine country? Schedule time to stop at Hector’s in Petaluma. You will not be disappointed. The pizza is made with sourdough crust, and when it arrived at the table it looked almost too perfect to eat. It was sooo delicious, with the perfect balance of crisp and chewy. We also tried the minestrone soup, which was loaded with fresh vegetables and served with warm garlic toast. Honestly, it was so good we seriously thought about asking for another bowl to take home. Hector’s has some really creative pizza options on the menu, but the classic pepperoni ranked as a top 3 for us. If you’re in Petaluma and craving pizza or comfort food done right, this place is a must-try!

Review: Hector's Pizza, 1420 S McDowell Blvd, Petaluma, CA 94954 This tiny, unassuming place. Staff that could have been trained at any 5 Star award winning restaurant, cooks tossing freshly made sour doughs into the air at dizzingly rates, so many customers on a simple Monday night. I have discovered thee best pizza in Sonoma County. Mine a chicken picata, although there were so many choices, mine was simple. It's divine. Thinnish but hearty crispy crust, perfectly laden with a masterpiece of flavors. I ordered a small, yet full on two peices but I'm going for gluttony tonight. Oh my lord, this crust.

Hector’s offers the best pizza I’ve had since my time in New York. The sourdough crust has a pleasant crunch. No greasy or watery run off. The sausage is excellent tasting. I can’t wait for when I get back to Petaluma to try their sandwiches.

This was a great pizza. We got in late to Petaluma and this place was open to 10 pm. The pizza is crispy on the bottom, light and airy in the middle. It had the right amount of cheese and toppings. It had a lot to choose from and some unique topping combinations. Lots of fresh basil . We had the Sonoma pizza with grapes , sundried tomatoes, and artichokes.

This is really good pizza. It was our last night in Sonoma County before returning to our home in the Chicago area. After a week of unbelievable seafood, beaches and redwoods, we decided to "stay in" and try a local pizza place. So, we ordered from Hector's based on the reviews. Wow was it good! The sauce and the toppings were great...and the sourdough crust. What an amazing, unique flavor. We also ordered the Greek salad which was fresh and full of olives and other ingredients. I rated the service and atmosphere 5 stars even though we didn't eat there, because it was fun to talk with Hector's son and interact with the other patrons. I found out that they have been making great pizza for a number of years. If only they were closer to home.

They have been consistent, quality is superior, by far the best pizza joint in Petaluma. Anytime I want pizza i always go to hectors. The staff is always friendly super helpful. They were able to accommodate a large pizza order for the date and time I needed it by. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!

Stop by to have dinner at Hector's pizza. We ordered Brushetta Hector Style which had Pesto Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, French Bread, Olive Oil, Garlic, Finely Diced Tomatoes, Fresh Basil Leaves and Parmesan Cheese. It was very good! And my sons ordered a pizza with half pepperoni and olive and another half was Americana (ground beef mushrooms and green onion). The pizza was pretty good, my sons gave it 3.8 out of 5. The staff was friendly, too.

Best Pizza in Petaluma When ordering pizza in Petaluma I don't even consider anyone other than Hectors. Even though it IS a little more expensive than "other" pizza places. You get what you pay for... Our go-to order is Sausage w/ Bell Peppers and Olives... but every pizza we've ever tried from Hectors is phenomenal. Could be their sourdough crust w/ corn meal on the bottom. Salad's and entree's (pasta, etc) available too, but the pizza is the real superstar here. Dine-in area is tiny so we always order to-go... they do have delivery too. Staff is always pleasant and helpful.

Wow! What great food! What great service! We were staying at the Hampton Inn. Nothing remotely close to this hotel to dine in. We traveled 8 hours from Oregon and tired. We yelped and found Hector's 1.6 miles close and so happy we did! Hector's adult son, Omar, greeted us with a smile. We just wanted carry out, he was concerned that we'd have to wait for 20 minutes. He convinced us to sit down and he would serve us our salad (a split) while we waited for the carry-out with 2 cold glasses of ice water. A huge beautiful garden salad was delivered to our table with two dressings, Ranch and the best Balsamic Vinaigrette I've ever had! Omar told us that the scrumptious little micro croutons upon the salad they hand make and bake every day for their salads. The tomatoes, the cucumbers, everything was super fresh, super crunchy, super tasty. Wow! Lucky us! Many selections for pizza and Omar would make it any way we wanted. We ordered the chicken barbecue pizza, we added tomatoes, and half of it with red onions. We took it to the hotel and Omar, without asking, gave us plates, plastic utensils, parmesan cheese and red peppers flakes to go. Let's not mention the two pieces of candy, and napkins to boot. Did I mention that it was a small pizza, but he decided to make it a little bit bigger? Their small is like a medium elsewhere! My husband and I loved this pizza. It was hot, every ingredient that was fresh, the crust was absolutely unbelievable, and we loved it! It was a sourdough with a lovely firm crispy texture crust. If we ever come this way again, we are going back and we are going to stay next time and eat the entire dinner in their very cute, intimate restaurant. They had a wonderful display of different wines and very good solid pours, from what I could see going on! Omar is a joy! This restaurant is a joy! The food is made with love.

Went here last Sunday. We were coming home from Russian River and we were looking for a pizza spot. We are unfamiliar with Petaluma, but after looking at several spots online and reading reviews, I decided to give this one a shot. So glad I did!! Everything was fantastic!! We ordered two pizzas and both were cooked perfectly. Nice crisp to it but not overcooked. Very balanced ingredients which I appreciate so much. I hate it when a pizza has too much of one thing like cheese or sauce. If a person wants extra on something they can ask for it. This place does it right! The sourdough crust is also quite delicious. We ordered the Gorgonzola salad and that was also wonderful. I loved how they sliced the tomatoes nice and thin. I mean what's up with restaurants that give you quarter wedges of tomatoes? I despise that. Nobody should be doing that unless you are maybe ordering a tomato salad. But even a tomato salad should have bite-size pieces of tomatoes. The balsamic vinaigrette that came with this salad was lovely. The restaurant itself was small but clean. We did notice there was a cute little patio area outside. It had a few tables as well as a water fountain and actual grape vines! I loved the plates they give you to eat with. Adorable. I also loved how the kitchen staff were all cleanly dressed in yellow shirts and kitchen pants. Lookin sharp! All these little touches made the restaurant so charming. I only feel sad this restaurant is a bit far away from us because this is the exact type of spot that we would be regulars at. The good news is that Petaluma is on our way home when we visit the River. So there will be more opportunities. Thank you again so much for the wonderful food and hospitality. Bravo

Lovely service, delish pizza: hot and fresh toppings, great crust! What more could we ask for! We noticed a line of people waiting to take out their pizzas, but we really enjoyed the intimate feeling of Hector's. Can't wait to go again!

Hector's Pizza is a true neighborhood gem. The pizza and salad we had was delicious. They allowed my wife and I to make the pizza a half and half so we could both enjoy our chosen toppings. I firmly believe Sausage and Mushroom is the gold standard for a pizza pie and this one delivered. Hearty portions too. We took home a few slices of the medium we ordered. Friendly service was evident. They even had the world series game on a corner tv which wasnt too obtrusive, but appreciated.

Not much to say except for pizza was mediocre. I was excited to eat here since I tried it once before a few years ago and it was really good. However, this time around was nothing special. Cashier wasn't very friendly and my pizza wasn't piping hot like I like it to be. Our salad was good, a little soggy since they put the dressing on it for you. The inside seemed clean and even though it's a little small, there is a decent amount of seating. Might check them out again in the future in hopes to update my review.

The pizza menu has a lot of different specialty pizzas to choose from so it's nice that they let you do half of 2. The flavors were ok but I would say the toppings make the pizza here. It was good to try at least once. They also have a limited beer selection and soft drinks.

highly recommend this local pizza spot in petaluma if you're in the area!! we got a box of combination pizza right before closing and the staff were very friendly. the pizza was also the best combo pizza i've had in a while! i intended to eat 1-2 slices and we ended up killing the box in one sitting. would definitely come back for more :)

I've been eating pizza since I was a kid in the 1970s. Just saying, because this is the BEST pizza I've ever had in my life. No joke. We order it with light pizza sauce, for dietary reasons, and it's so delicious and light, no matter what the toppings. It's amazing. I can eat too many pieces without even realizing it. Keeps well for leftovers, too. We try not to have it too often as to not spoil a good thing, you know? The service can be a little slow due to the popularity, so keep that in mind for dine in or takeout. We do the latter, as the space is kind of small. No complaints here. Best pizza ever: no joke.

The neighborhood spot! I love pizza from Hectors! The sourdough crust reigns supreme, this place is like a locals secret. You will never catch me ordering from big chain pizza spots, I always support and buy local. I cant believe it but there were 2 caramels like the ones you get from grandma in my bag with ranch and peppers/cheese so cuteeeee Hectors for the ultimate win

It's a small, neighborhood-like place. It appears geared to a vibrant take-out biz, with some indoor seating. The food's delicious. Service friendly. Ambiance quiet; patio greenery; tall, warming gas heaters. Couples, smallish, quieter families.

Absolutely the best sourdough crust pizza and atmosphere in Northern California. Get there early for the small intimate patio with grapevines and plants. Hector's and sons are phenomenal pizza chefs and hosts. Highly recommend - very family and dog friendly on the patio.

Favorite place to get pizza in town- consistently good. Their small is enough for two ppl (avg appetite) with leftovers.

Family owned Hector's has the best pizza I've had in a very long time. The sourdough crust has a nice little crunch. The pizza isn't dripping with grease and watery like many other pizzerias serve. Salads were tasty -- I had the spinach salad that has fresh bacon, and lightly sautéed mushrooms. Excellent!

Was headed home and needed to get dinner stopped by the little neighborhood spot and wasn't disappointed. It wasn't crowded but stayed very busy service was fast and food came out quickly and hot. Their was a lot of takeout but if you wanted to eat there they had a nice place to eat your meal Nice find

The greatest pizza and 100% consistent! It should be called Hector's Pizza and Pasta!!!! Their pasta is a tad expensive BUT worth it! When my family wants pizza, sometimes I want pasta and their pasta's fantastic!! We always get a salad and they are wonderful! Great delivery, sometimes busy so order early or be patient, it's worth the wait!

Yummy! The restaurant is small but relaxing. We have never had anything that wasn't excellent here. The staff is super friendly. I definitely recommend you give it a try.

Better than Round Table but not the best. I heard good reviews so I couldn't wait to try. We were very disappointed. We will stick to Sal's in Cotati or Tony's at Graton for real homemade pizza.

Didn't expect this small pizza shop to be any good but it sure surprised me. We had the Bruschetta for appetizer and the 2 personal pies, BBQ Chicken Pizzas and Ham & Pineapple Pizza. It tastes really good though the dough was thicker then I like for an oven brick pizza. If I'm around the area again I will recommend stopping by to try other pies they have.

If you like Hawaiian Pizza, this is the place to go! OMG i have never seen a pizza place so generous with the pineapple! Its my fav part of the Hawaiian pizza. I am not local but would def come back for the pizza. This was the medium sized pizza. The pizza not too thick or thing, just right! I did a pick up order but they do have a cute dining area if you decide to eat your pizza there. I also saw wine! :) Their customer service was great and professional. Thanks Omar! The Hawaiian pizza def satisfied my craving that I have had all week. Keep up the great job!

Everything was AMAZING. Server was great. Clean bathrooms. Soooooo good. They have pasta, calzones, pizzas, bread sticks, sandwiches, salads and more!

Something is off. After years of enjoying a sourdough crust and distinct red sauce, tonight's Combo pizza has me thinking they've definitely changed their ingredients and they're no more special than Mountain Mikes. Even the cheese tastes different. It's probably because of the times we're in, no doubt. Still a great pie, but it's not the same.

Hector's Pizza is one to try in Petaluma! They make specialty crafted pizzas with lots of different complimenting flavors. One of my favorites is the Chicken alla king and the golden chicken pizza. Make sure you order ahead because the prep time takes a while, I waited and hour and 15 min for them to prepare and deliver my pizzas that were 2 mediums and they're located about 10 min away from my house. Excited to try more of their pies

Best pizza in town, period! The pizza is always cooked perfectly and always how you want it. Even if you get it delivered, it's always hot. I suggest this place over any pizza place in town for to go or delivery.

Driving through Petaluma hungry & was out for some really good pizza- Hector's did not disappoint- excellent. I can see why the rating is so high & it's a local favorite. We dined in & we're impressed by the feeling of pride that was evident by simply looking around. We also really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere- you don't see places like this too much anymore. Highly recommend.

The servers and service is great! Friendly and professional. But the pizza itself is third-rate. The thin crust texture (and taste) is like you'd get from a Betty Crocker pie crust recipe. If you order onions and green peppers, you are told "no green peppers" - and the onions?? Are nowhere to be found- substituted instead by lots of chives you would get in your grocery store spice bottle. Not much red sauce on top, so eat it quickly before it dries up. The basil leaves they put on top for garnish don't look very fresh. Pass on this place- as the continuing search for a great pizza place goes on.

No so good. Pie was burned when I got home and opened it. Not much taste to it. Sausage most likely came out of a Sisco or BiRite frozen box. Not worth $33 for a medium pizza. Ate one piece and threw the rest away.

Thankful Thursday! Shout out to Hector's Pizza locally owned and run by rockstars! I've only ordered pickup, but it's so good every time and the service is always on point. Looking forward to racking up those receipts to get that free pizza! The Caesar salad is also great.. something in the dressing just makes it extra yummy. I'll definitely have to come in for a sit down meal and drink in house. Now I'm craving that Caesar and pizza! See you sooner than later!

This place is supper busy and popular but it did not Meat the expectations. The pizza is good, not fantastic. They have a whole rack of fresh dough there so would have thought it would have turned out better. The real let down is the meats, not the best choice there. Their saving grace is the fresh veggies and pineapple on top, not overcooked. And also the menu is pretty deep so there are a lot of choices to make.

Best I have had in a while. Ordered a Supreme Gluten Free. Tasted like regular crust. Sauce toppings etc. all great. Wife had a three topping pizza she liked as well. Expensive I thought for visitors from Texas- about double the cost but very good.

I've never been to this pizzeria before, and I was quite surprised that their vegetarian pizza only had maybe four toppings. Despite that, we added some more of our own so we could feel healthier about eating pizza for dinner with beer. Lol The pizza itself was a large and it actually weighed a significant amount! They were toppings galore and nothing was spared! Lol eat by I could taste all of the vegetables and then with my added organic Sriracha it was magnificent! Great first impression even though they only had a very plain sounding vegetarian pizza. Also the wait time was 70 minutes on a Saturday night ordering at 6:30 PM. Sadly, the pizza wasn't ready until the actual time which was 10 minutes into the first bite. But still delicious pizza.

After a soccer game, we stopped by Hector's to try their pizza. We ordered a large all meat and it was delicious! The crust was perfect. It was light & crisp. The ratio of tomato sauce, cheese and the different meat toppings all complemented each other. Unfortunately, we don't live in the area but if we did. Hector's would be our "go to" for delicious pizza.

What a pleasant surprise. We were in the Petaluma area and really looking for a good pizza. Yelp sent us in the right direction. This place is small and unassuming. We ordered the meat pizza and the greek salad to go. The freshly made pizza was full of topping and the crust was thin and crisp. Really enjoyed it. The salad was a nice size and was shared by two. It has cheese, grapes, artichoke, cucumber tomatoes and more!! The lettuce was super fresh. The servers at the counter we just there. He took our order and gave us a receipt. We waited about 20 minutes for our pizza. Overall we enjoyed this restaurant.

One of the best pizza ever tasted. Veggies on one half, other half top with sausages, tomatoes and mozzarella. Crust is sour doughy like Red Boys with a more robust sauce without the tang. The star for me is definitely the toppings laying it on fresh and heavy, resulting in a floppy when holding it by the slice whether you like it or not. Ate a few slices in the car late at night and took the rest home. Friendly service. Not much of a wait. Paid full price on the high side but it's definitely worth it for a great tasting pie. Highly recommended.
