Hedley House Hotel

Lovely stay this week at Hedley. Clean spacious rooms, light and airy. Friendly staff from checking in to waitresses, a wonderful breakfast with plenty of options. We paid to use the car park for our visit so much easier. Everything is in walking distance from the hotel, you can cut through the lovely museum gardens which brings you out in the town. Train station close by. Would definitely recommend Emily at Studio 22 for a massage. All in the grounds of the hotel.

We had a nice stay at the Hedley House hotel, room was lovely, spacious and had been recently refurbished. Bathroom was good and had everything you needed! Location is excellent and only a short walk into the city. You can walk easily from the station too, so it is not necessary to get a taxi (unless you want to of course!)||We had a bit of confusion over breakfast in the hotel, which we were told that although breakfast was included, the only things we could have were from the cold selection and if we wanted a hot breakfast this would be an extra £12 each. We ended up having breakfast from the cold selection only, which was very nice, but an extra £12 for a cooked breakfast on top of the room price (which said breakfast included?) seemed a bit steep. ||Thank you for a lovely stay, but for the future I would suggest clarifying the breakfast situation, as customers may not want to be charged for a breakfast they thought was included.

Loved everything about this hotel. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Staff were exceptional and very accommodating. Great outside seating area with access to jacuzzi from 4pm to 9pm. Great location and only 10/15 minute walk to town centre. Highly recommended 👌

What a find! Stayed as a group of 9 and could not fault anything. Staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us, the new garden area was perfect for meeting and sitting and chatting as a group and the hot tub was a great bonus. Location just a few minutes walk into town and great private parking at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was fantastic too and plentiful. Rooms were modern and clean and comfortable. Amazing value for money. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

If you’re traveling to York by train, this is the hotel you want if you are looking for a budget hotel. Family run, great atmosphere, and the management is very accommodating. It can’t be more than a half a mile walk from the train station to the hotel. Really nice breakfast. I have only positive things to say.

This was our second stay at Hedley House Hotel. We love it for several reasons: We could have the window open and it's a quiet street. It's just a short walk into town and during the day you can walk via the lovely museum gardens. The beds were really comfortable, everything was clean and the shower was a good temperature with good pressure. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Let down extremely last minute by another hotel in the city on a bank holiday weekend! Luckily Hedley House came to our rescue. The team were lovely and very helpful, rooms were lovely and clean. Bed was super comfy! Great location, roughly a 10-12 minute walk or a quick Uber into the city centre. Would definitely recommend this little gem and will most certainly be back!

Hedley House was the perfect venue for a family get-together. Our ages ranged 80 - 90 and we had lovely rooms , food and good drinks and nibbles in the Lounge/bar. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Thank you.

Short version: Poor customer service, dismissive and arrogant management. Long version: After calling the hotel before our stay, it was explained that we wanted to be able to leave our car (ours and my wife's parents) at the hotel until 3pm the following day due to the booking being a gift for her elderly parents who find driving in York confusing. This was an essential requirement, and the whole reason we called to check, and purposely booked this hotel over others. On check-out, we were told that we would have to move our cars by Greg (who it later emerged was the owner of the hotel) who was very dismissive and arrogant in his approach insisting that the telephone conversion didn't happen, and would never have happened. We feel very aggrieved that they took our booking for 2 rooms on a false pretence, when this was an essential factor in our booking and clearly explained in our conversation beforehand, without any form of apology or sympathy.

Every thing you could wish for. helpful staff, excellent food, convenient for every attraction that York has to offer.Plenty of off road parking.The standard of our room was excellent,all the furnishings were clean and comfortable especialy the bed. WELL DONE.

I adore York, and i adore this hotel! In a perfect postion for all the wonderful attractions York has to offer, this family run hotel has everything we needed, included an outdoor jacuzzi! The rooms were well furnished and comfortable with a great en-suite. I hear they even have one room with a TV in the en-suite...must try that next time! Breakfasts are perfectly cooked with a great selction of cerals etc. and a nice choice for your cooked breakfast. A very handy car park kept our costs down and we cant wait to return! We definately recommend this hotel.
