Hedley House Hotel

We had a lovely weekend stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't dine in the evening, but the breakfast was well cooked with good choice. The hot tub is a great way to relax in the evenings after a day of site seeing. Lovely family run hotel, would recommend and will certainly stay here again.

Stayed here for one night, lovely little hotel and the staff were even more lovely. Breakfast was great and plenty to choose from. One tiny criticism is that i feel £15 for parking at the rear of the hotel is a bit steep. Would definitely visit her again 😊

We stay here every year and Hedley House never disappoints. The hotel itself is lovely and clean and very well-represented. The staff are always friendly and nothing is too much for them. The rooms are fresh, modern and spacious. We had breakfast which was lovely, hot and just what you needed to start each day. The location is a 5-minute walk from the city centre which is ideal with views of the Minster from the room window! Thank you for a lovely weekend, see you next year!

We found Hedley House to be a perfect good value choice for our short stay in York, less than 10 minutes walk to the Minster in the town centre. Private parking can be reserved at the rear. Our room was beautifully fitted out with a lot of attention to detail, we had perfectly cooked breakfasts in the pleasant dining area, and the hosts could not have been more helpful - thank you! It's also possible to arrange an excellent massage.

Lovely friendly hotel. Comfy bed. Great breakfast. Excellent location. Parking at the rear but extra charge. Great shower. Did think though that our budget room was a bit expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed in in York. Outside of our basement room and the stairway leading down to it was quite dirty. Other than that all great. Loved the hot tub too. Garden area would be great in summer

A short but lovely stay in this friendly hotel. Our room had lots of complimentary extras. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Bed very comfortable and felt like a Viking with the cosy throw! Fantastic location and view of the Minster from our room. Sorry we didn’t get chance to enjoy the lovely gardens - maybe on our next stay. Thank you for making us feel more than welcome 🙏

We are in week two of a six week drive around the UK, on holiday from Australia. We cannot fault our four night stay at this hotel. Great location only a short walk from the Minster. Parking a real bonus at a small fee. Great breakfast every morning. We tried the restaurant on one night and the meal was excellent. Room was spacious with an enormous bed. What made the stay five star was the staff who are all friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Another lovey stay at the hedley house, we had evening meal on the first night what was lovely, breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Only a 10 minute walk into York. Hotel has parking. Also has a bar. The rooms have everything you need tea coffee hot chocolate biscuits, iron and ironing board. There were 10 of us altogether and everyone enjoyed their stay. Will definitely return on our next trip to York ||

Short version: Poor customer service, dismissive and arrogant management. Long version: After calling the hotel before our stay, it was explained that we wanted to be able to leave our car (ours and my wife's parents) at the hotel until 3pm the following day due to the booking being a gift for her elderly parents who find driving in York confusing. This was an essential requirement, and the whole reason we called to check, and purposely booked this hotel over others. On check-out, we were told that we would have to move our cars by Greg (who it later emerged was the owner of the hotel) who was very dismissive and arrogant in his approach insisting that the telephone conversion didn't happen, and would never have happened. We feel very aggrieved that they took our booking for 2 rooms on a false pretence, when this was an essential factor in our booking and clearly explained in our conversation beforehand, without any form of apology or sympathy.

Every thing you could wish for. helpful staff, excellent food, convenient for every attraction that York has to offer.Plenty of off road parking.The standard of our room was excellent,all the furnishings were clean and comfortable especialy the bed. WELL DONE.

I adore York, and i adore this hotel! In a perfect postion for all the wonderful attractions York has to offer, this family run hotel has everything we needed, included an outdoor jacuzzi! The rooms were well furnished and comfortable with a great en-suite. I hear they even have one room with a TV in the en-suite...must try that next time! Breakfasts are perfectly cooked with a great selction of cerals etc. and a nice choice for your cooked breakfast. A very handy car park kept our costs down and we cant wait to return! We definately recommend this hotel.
