Great local general store. The day we stopped in here we had breakfast. Food was delicious and portions were good. Food was served pretty quick. All of the staff is very friendly.

Heeia Pier changes often - it seems hard to keep afloat, despite steady customers. Over the last couple decades it has changed more times than i can remember. This iteration is impressive, with somewhat upscale local lunches & a nice shop that is not too much tourist kitsch, but spiffy for sure. Part of me def misses the old days, when it was mostly salty fishing uncles drinking their 50 cent coffee in styrofoam cups and keeping the culture of Heeia warm and real. I miss the old store with its salted windows and lack of much beyond fishing gear and a few snacks, random hours and all. There were a few genuinely cool modes in between, like that time Chef “Guch” ran a fantabulous cuisine endeavor using 100% Ko’olaupoko ingredients. Of course it was too difficult to sustain, and folded. He and others also had regular kanikapila (music jam session) evenings — that is something amazing I would love to see again. But there were also some lame or dry modes over the years, and lots in between. It has been a long ride! Which makes this place a truly historic community spot that should be supported by the community. Come on Koolaupoko folks, letʻs go! I was pleasantly surprised by this latest endeavor. Very good quality food - a little fancy for sure, and but lots of real local appeal. And the store has cool stuff, like lovely pareau & flavored paʻakai. The food is good. kinda wow - the furikake ahi nuggets & dynamite fish were like a plate lunch truck & a bourgeois Kakaʻako eatery had a delicious baby. My mom had smoke meat plate that she loved. I wish they had healthier side options. It is hard to recommend a place that would cause my community’s health to decline, and too much rice & .mac salad and salty meat does that, especially for Kanaka Maoli. There NEEDS to be a couple veg entrees. It is gonna be 2024 soon and everyone should have vegetarian options. Without this, for one thing, any random group is likely to have to go elsewhere because one person canʻt eat there, which helps prevent closure/constant turnover. For another thing, it is more inclusive (not just choices but religions etc), respectful and conscious. So I hope to see more of this, and more green on plates overall. Would love to see them selling stuff from farmers (eg Kako’o ʻOiwi is literally walking distance, and other small organic folks nearby etc) But I am still giving them a 5 because it is a great place I am happy to have in my community, including this version. Definitely a good place to check out & endorse!

Google
Flew to Oahu as part of our trip to Hawaii and this was on our list of go to Spots. Food is so good yet perfectly simple. We had the Loco Moco and tried some of the Luau Stew Special. Owner is a super chill dude and said they sometimes do a BBQ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 5-8pm

Google
#grateful an awesome experience! The food is to die for and the area is both quiet and bustling with mariners, sailors, and all boat enjoyers. Got the chicken long rice, shoyu chicken, saw a turtle named Tuttles (there were 3 so they’re all named Tuttles now), sat on a bench, and enjoyed the ever-living-fvck out of it. Definite 10/10.

Google
This place is awesome! Crew is very friendly, food is very good, feels like a local fishing shack but more. Loved the pork chop, smoked meat, beef spicy tacos and luau stew.

Google
Rude staff, they acted annoyed we were there. Then called our order number wrong and just let out food sit there until we went to ask.

Yelp
Pretty good hamburger and French fries. Nice relaxing scenery and place to fish as well. Lots of beaches close by. Service was friendly and quick as there wasn't anyone else shopping there. NOT the same place as seen on Drive Ins Diner and Dives anymore though.

Yelp
A place to hang out & enjoy the nice ocean breeze & check out the fishermen fishing on the pier. The general store has great customer service by the gal behind the register. Beer cold in the cooler. They serve plate lunches & their soft serve cones are great on a warm day. They have other goods they sell, original Heeia Pier T shirts & trinkets! Restrooms outside & steps away, a place to relax & get away from your everyday thoughts!

Violet B.

Yelp
Stumbled up this little store and was surprised that they sell lunches too! I got the soft serve pineapple flavor $6. They also had watermelon or vanilla flavors. Definitely will come try their lunch plate next time!

Yelp
Our Sunday cruise led us to Kaneohe and we were starving but wanted to try something different. Yelp led us to the He'eia Pier General Store! The sweetest worker took our order and we chatted about our day as we waited. The shop offers candies, chips, drinks, as well as bentos, burgers, and plate lunches. I had a cheese burger and hurricane fries and my husband got a hamburger steak plate. The kids chose hot dogs and fries. For the price and view, it's definitely an amazing deal and delicious food! The hurricane fries were the best! Definitely a good spice to it! Will definitely be back when we're in the area! :)

Yelp
Big appetites are satisfied here!!! You go into the store thinking of picking up something small like an ice cream or a musubi but once you see their menu, you wont be wanting just a snack. they got some of the most delicious and comforting plate lunches you'll ever eat!!! I got the roast pork plate lunch that comes smothered in gravy on a bed of cabbage. Most plates come with your standard scoop of rice and mac salad. Also save some space for a cup of dole whip (they got different flavors!!!) or the crispy hurricane fries!

Kathy M.

Yelp
Loved finding this little known place. Felt like a local. General store selling variety of things & food. It was delicious and the staff were so friendly. The only minus was having to eat outside, near the restrooms, with the wind blowing. If they can create a semi-enclosed patio to eat in, that would make this an even better place to come to. Enjoyed walking around the dock & the pier after our lunch.

Yelp
Beautiful a scenic view good service they have new owners an it's a little shop for souvenirs or fishing gear snacks an plate lunches

Yelp
Great food and great service. I love coming here. The shoyu chicken is really good. Small place but great environment, great people, and great food.

Katie M.

Yelp
Best local dive! Outdoor seating is perfect, and the food is ready fast. Highly recommend the hurricane fries.

Mychel E.

Yelp
I forgot to take pics but we (4 people) shared a cheeseburger and hurricane fries (I think that's what the fries are called) a giver shoyu poke bowl and the fried pork. Whoa, definitely recommend! The fried pork was crispy fried and I did not expect that! So good, unique style (to me!) fries were ono with the sauce. Ginger shoyu poke was VERY gingery. I absolutely loved it but if you're not too keen on strong ginger flavor, beware. Cheeseburger is diner style. So perfect. Good food, amazing view. Would definitely recommend taking the family to a cruise down to the pier!

Rise D.

Yelp
Best poke bowls and yummy plate lunches! I also like the cookies that are inside the store. Service has always been quick and friendly. I love enjoying my lunch by the pier! The only hard part is the parking but go during off peak hours and enjoy the food and view.

Kellie H.

Yelp
The fries there are really good, and the service is amazing! The workers are really nice.

Yelp
Under new owners and changing it up some. General store inside got all your needs for the day night etc. Little fishing gear to lots of snacks and drinks, forgot shades etc its there. In a hurry grab a bento musubi sandwich peanuts drinks icee. If you got time then check outside... Opened the kitchen now so hot meals along with serving up fresh local caught fish. That's what I love, supporting local fishermen to supporting local small business to supporting locals in general! Food has always been good comfort style. Nothing has been bad here. Check out their social media pages as they post updated menus daily and sometimes post special events like a ohana saimin night, enjoy saimin at the pier at night watching the sunset etc.

Yelp
Comfort food in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii... Established in August 2020 and opened in October 2020... In the midst of a pandemic... Is that bravery or what? Today, my neighbor texted me and said she was hungry and bored. She asked me if I was home and if I had any lunch plans. Me: Yes; no; and how about He'eia Pier General Store & Deli? We both googled it and watched the April 2021 KHON2 newsclip online where Chris' daughter was interviewed about this reopened business at the He'eia Kea Small Boat Harbor at Kaneohe Bay. Knowing that they'd close at 2pm, my neighbor said she'd pick me up in five minutes. Shoots! Chris, one of the two owners, was quite friendly when I started asking questions about the new He'eia Pier General Store & Deli. He and his partner recently signed the lease for this popular spot and took a gamble - which turned out to be successful! The fare at the Deli is bentos and plate lunches - which are served at memorial services and drive-by graduation events - how appropriate and convenient! He'eia Pier General Store has been turned over several times. This time, the renovation looks very organized, clean, and well stocked! There were flip flops, sunglasses, fishing poles, lures, scoop nets, snacks, refrigerated beverages, face masks, snorkel equipment, etc. My neighbor and I just wanted some good food. I couldn't decide on what to order, so Chris suggested a Combination plate - yay! I got the beef luau, hamburger steak, and mochiko chicken. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by the mochiko chicken. I usually don't like chicken. This one was good because it had a slightly crisp char on the skin, was flavored well, and was BONELESS!!! I also recommend the hamburger steak - the patty was high quality (no gristle), homemade, tender, and tasty! Oh - and I had a side of fresh poke. I think I detected a tad bit of sesame seed oil... Mmm... And some shoyu and sweet onions - classic! And the Mac salad had some tuna in it... Yummy! Next time, instead of taking my meal home, I might just enjoy my comfort food along the pier while breathing the cool air, watching the kayakers, and listening to the waves on the shore... ahhh!!! Lucky we live Hawaii! Good luck to this new business! Wishing you continued success and prosperity!

Yelp
Me and my son went there on Monday and the girl who took our order was really sweet and friendly! I usually enjoy eating here but not today I ordered roast pork. Big disappointment roast pork was burnt and covered in salty gravy! I worked in food service before and I always tell myself would u serve this to ur family? It was like they fried on the grill and it was really burnt! But that won't stop me from returning!

Yelp
If you're looking for something off the beaten path this might be the place for you. Breackfast menu looked great but it was already closed so they kindly made a couple of sandwiches for us.

Yelp
We've been working out near the pier for the past 4 months and I eat there at least once a week. Service is great, food is ono, prices are reasonable, and the outdoor seating overlooking the boat ramp and the ocean is a great lunch setting. They have ono fried chicken, burgers, butterfish, pork guisantes, even there shots hotdogs with onions is tasty. Hamburger steak is up there with the best of them! Fried chicken sell out quick which tells you how good it is. They also have specials that change daily.

Tracy P.

Yelp
The BEST hamburger steak plate on the island! And I have tried about all worth tasting. Also, the cashier running the little shop and taking food orders was really nice - asking how is day going? and giving some info on the menu and shop without me asking. Sweet!

Aimee K.

Yelp
He'eia Pier is so Ono! Chris and his girls and team are really awesome! I would really recommend trying from this place, during the weekdays I work near by and I love there Poke so fresh so ono! Go down between 8am-7pm, and they except cash & card and don't forgot there Dole wip! Yum!

Jaime T.

Yelp
I used to come here when I was little with my Grandpa and sisters after fishing off the pier! We would always get the saimin, even in the really hot summer days. My sister wanted to relive her glory days and got Saimin but it was way too salty. I got a bento which had mochiko, salmon and a piece of spam. So ono! I liked having a bit of everything.

Yelp
Ordered the Ahi Loco on all greens and Ahi Pieces on all greens. Delicious!! Only negative was the local family taking up two tables. They were done eating a long time and could've had some common courtesy.

Owen I.

Yelp
Cool place, nice people. Take the kids to the pier for some fishing fun and drop in to the store for snacks and refreshments.

Steve Z.

Yelp
Disappointed. We were excited to see this restaurant on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives. The pre-pandemic episode was intriguing and the food looked great. When we arrived, the place was open. We ordered the chili frank and the Mochiko chicken. Our plate lunches were ready within 5 minutes of ordering. The Mochiko chicken was cooked but had no real flavor. The rice & Mac salad were ok. The chili hotdog was disappointing and the chili was luke warm. What we saw on Triple D and what we experienced were 180 degrees out. I'm not certain if the ownership has changed since the episode, but we were not impresses. We won't return. Overall rating, "meh."

Yelp
Their hamburger steak is a definite keeper. They delivered it the way I asked for, onions well done and extra gravy. The guy was awesomely kind enough to show me the plate to see if it it was enough gravy. Now that's going above and beyond of awesome customer service. Now we gotta go back and try all of their other stuff.

Caroline K.

Yelp
Breakfast or lunch you cannot go wrong! Favorite place to grab food & enjoy the ocean view. Besides the typical plate lunch offerings, there are usually gourmet choices, too.

Julie M.

Yelp
The girl taking my order was super nice and friendly. Ordered 1 Loco moco and 2 pork Adobo fried rice plates (with egg). They asked how I wanted my eggs so I said over easy. I get my 3 plates and there was no eggs in any of them. I asked the guy at the window where's the eggs and he gave me so much attitude. He kept telling me the eggs are in there without even looking in the plates. I asked him if they were supposed to come with eggs and they said yes. I just gave up because they probably would have spit in my food since the guy was so rude. Also very disappointed at the quality and taste of the food. Will never come back here.
