Small Botanical garden located right across the street from the Heidelberg Zoo. The highlight of the garden was the tropical garden located in the glass dome. The only place where you can buy food is the Heidelberg student food mensa located behind the gardens. I recommend you either eat there or bring your own food with drinks with you. The complete garden can be seen in 2 1/2 hours.

Quite small, well-maintained, main focus on green houses. Some houses with big varieties of orchids and succulents however rather for researching purposes, not open publicly. It is said to be the third oldest botanical garden in Germany...
Pretty relaxing to walk around.

The garden is not very big, but well cured and there are lots of different plant species from all around the world.
Plus, the entrance is free, and you can decide whether to give some money as free offer or not.
And they also give you the possibility to buy some little plants just leaving a free offer :) super nice idea!

Was told opened at 10 am on Sunday morning but the greenhouses are locked. You still can walk around the area which full of different plants and trees with label. If is pity the greenhouses were not opened. Otherwise should be very educational tour.

Amazing place to learn a lot of interesting things about plants. I appreciate Universities managing these botanical gardens, because it feels a lot more impactful and less "tourist-pleasing" to know that there is actual research going on. It was raining when we were there, but the partly canopy-covered outside parts as well as the large greenhouses make this botanical garden worth visiting even with a rain of 5l/minm²!

Great and diverse selection of climate zones in the greenhouses.
Rather small but nevertheless interesting display of Flora in the outdoor sections which are divided into different areas of global vegetational zones. Definitely worth seeing as I spend several hours at the location.
Nice opportunity to relax from the urban turbulances.
