15 Best Breweries in Charlotte

"Located in the heart of the NoDa arts district, Heist has a little something for everyone. CitraQuench’l, the signature IPA, owes its bright character to its all-Citra hop bill. Hive Fives, a popular American Blonde Ale made using local honey, is only 5.5 percent ABV and less hoppy than other offerings. Cataclysm III is a 13.9 percent ABV, barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout made with Ugandan vanilla beans. Anticipation before its release was so high that people lined up to get it the night before." - Lauren Levine

Really can't wait til they reopen. We've been a handful of times mostly for brunch. Service is Quick even on Holiday weekends like Easter weekend. $22 for brunch buffet was awesome! $10 for carafe of mimosa even better!!! 95.__ sanitation score Servers always super nice even when the Place is busy. The buffet always has Lots of variety. The omelettes are made to order with a little sheet you fill out.I get a Scramble made to order they're a little bit on the small side but filling/satisfying. My favorite is the Waffle station always great toppings including fresh berries. Bummed they had kk donuts not Reigning Donuts like before but could've been a one off cuz they had had some tech problems that weekend I was craving donuts. Seafood boil had crawfish they weren't the best I've had but they definitely satisfied a craving. Bacon can be hit or miss since the mass bake it. Sausage links and patties ok. Fruit was good. Ham was good. Cream puffs were a delightful surprise. Eggs were good but a lil cold needed lids for the food to be honest. I'll definitely be back as soon as they're up and running again. Shrimp and.mussels good. OJ and apple juice options too. They also had a cute Easter bunny giving out hugs and candy and taking pics very cute touch one of the last times we went.

THIS PIZZA IS SO GOOD! I highly recommend this place. I’m exploring new places to eat and this place will be a place I’m coming back!

Google
This review is solely for the brunch! Love the brewery otherwise! They've raised the prices of the brunch and gotten rid of the included drink. It's now $22 (plus tax and tip) for mediocre food. Not really worth it for the food but the location and the environment are fun. Plenty of parking and you'll pay more for food elsewhere. The omelette was ridiculously greasy. I just wish the food tasted better.

Stopped in for a quick bite, ended up staying awhile. Pretty busy, but service was great. Sat at the bar and grabbed a nice stout. Clean glasses, cold and rich. Ended up ordering beer cheese and pretzels. Out standarding. Beer cheese was rich, gooey, and a bite from the beer. Pretzel sticks were soft on the inside and crisp on the outside! Ordered the pastrami sandwich and garlic parm fries! Both options were delicious, good portioned and great price! Definitely a very chill laid back spot with tons of different options!

Google
Seen this place on a youtube video but by the time I made it in their menu had changed. Well enough I didn’t find to many items i was interested in. Had steak skewers that were severely underserved portion wise (for 16 dollars) but they tasted well. Also, a wrap and sweet potato fries. Food got a solid 5/10. The ac was broken so as they let more people in it did get hotter.. I wasn’t impressed or maybe it wasn’t the place for me. *** They a nice parking lot compared to other places in the area!

Google
Decade old Charlotte brewpub turned pillar of beer scene continues to provide reliably excellent craft beers (hazy IPA, pastry stout, fruited sours - sure - but also more traditional styles too) and delicious food. Expansive space with two bar rooms, one including table service, and a great outdoor patio. Friendly staff are happy to help you find what you’re looking for. Service is fast. Just a great place to get great beer, eat delicious food (we had the amazing cheese fries and Brussels appetizers and the chicken waffle tacos and pork tenderloin skewers - all delicious), people watch, and relax. Dog friendly.

Google
Great food, great drinks. Parking is limited and spots are pretty tight. Seating is open and mostly group-seating long tables. Food was prepared quickly and delivered to your table. Only downside is food is a little pricey for what you get ($14 for 3 sliders is pretty steep imo), and their menu isn't as robust as it was pre-pandemic. It is convenient that you can order food and drink at all the bar, so it can all go on one tab. The guy at our bar station taking orders was awesome and never had to re-ask us our name after the first order. We'll definitely be back, but probably just for drinks from now on.

Had our rehearsal dinner here. The decorations were beautiful and such a surprise. The private room with the bar, stage, speakers, projector, etc was perfect. The food was good too. Working with Courtney was so easy. She was even able to meet dietary restrictions without any hassle. Thank you so much Courtney!

Yelp
After seeing their impressive IG posts advertising their brunch spread, we decided to check them out. Well, kudos to their social media manager because the post is better than IRL! Before I get to the food portion of the review, let's start with the basics. Brunch starts at 10am and there is a bit of a line that queues outside prior to the doors opening. And no judgement, but there were a lot of serious eater profiles in line so that made us even more optimistic about the food. The line does move a little slow as they take payment up front and also make drinks while slapping a wristband on to tell who paid for the buffet and who didn't. Not sure why they bothered because there wasn't anyone standing online checking for wristbands. But the place was packed by 10:45 so I would advise getting here earlier vs later. Also, unless I missed it, there wasn't a menu board listing what exactly was on the buffet. We assumed that the menu was similar to what we saw on IG. That was a mistake. The selection included waffles, chicken strips, scrambled eggs, shrimp and grits, biscuits and country gravy, bacon, sausage, fruit salad, salmon patties and an omelette make to order window. The good. The shrimp and grits were the best items on the menu. The grits were legitimately delicious and contained plenty of shrimp. However there were no bowls, only plates so if you don't like the run off effect, beware. The chicken tenders were good not great. The segments were irregular resulting in uneven frying with some of my pieces over fried. The bad. The eggs, sausage links, gravy and fruit salad were synonymous with the continental breakfast you get at the Hampton Inn. The sausage links in particular had that dull grey complexion that reeked of either steam or microwave but definitely not griddle cooked. The scrambled eggs essentially fused together in the serving pan so you had to scoop it out like ice cream. And my lady ordered from the omelette bar, and after waiting 15 minutes for it to be ready, she ended up with an inedible omelette that looked like it had been bathed in grease. The ugly. I ordered a Bloody Mary from the bar. The Bloody Mary was good, and included a decent garnish of okra and olives. However, I only ordered that one drink and the 2 buffets. Final ticket came to $87! Not sure how much they charged me for the bloody but I think I would stick with water or a beer if I were you. We may have caught them on an off weekend so there's that to consider. But in general, if quantity over quality is your groove, then by all means make this your next stop. But if you are looking for a brunch with a little more "cookery", you may want to look elsewhere.

Yelp
We hosted my daughter's graduation party at Heist. It's a beautiful rustic room with a full bar and optional catering. Courtney was very responsive and easy to work with. The food and service blew me away. I 1000% recommend!

Yelp
Met up with some old high school friends here. It's the perfect place for a gathering. The food was delicious and the price is very reasonable. My favorites were the made to order omelet and the grits. The server was very accommodating. We were sitting upstairs but the air was not working up there so it was extremely hot. We tried to power through it but with drinking it became unbearable. The server did not hesitate to move us to a more comfortable spot downstairs and they were quite busy. Parking: Although it was a big parking lot, it was packed so parking may be a bit tricky.

Yelp
I had a delicious burger and my guy had some AMAZING chicken and waffle tacos... yes, tacos! I thought that was so unique and cute in the taco holder. I didn't love the fries but nothing was wrong either. They just weren't anything special. Service was friendly and helpful in choosing a drink (I like sweet). The building is so big and there is no way to feel cramped. They also have an upstairs area that I'm sure makes a great event space for birthdays.

Yelp
I love this place, especially on Sundays. Like, is there a better deal than $10 for a pitcher of mimosas on Sunday? I also really like their nachos with chicken, and order it almost every time (no, it's not real Mexican food, so just accept that when you order it - if you want Mexican, go to an actual Mexican restaurant). They're super dog friendly here and def make you feel like it, so you can chill with your pup outside and pet your dog if you're okay with it. And even on weekdays, service is just generally nice and welcoming. Like, you'd want to come back here no matter what! Love coming by here and feeling welcomed!

Yelp
My friend and I were looking for somewhere to grab a quick drink and maybe a little bite to eat before going out for the evening and we came across Heist Bar as it was pretty close to the spot we were going to afterwards. Upon entry, we were quickly sat at the bar and we ordered chips and the short rib queso. I also ordered the short rib taco and my friend got the fish tacos. Overall, everything was pretty good. I will say a couple of my chips were a little stale lol but I won't nitpick too bad.

Yelp
Stopped by for a late dinner during the week and while I enjoy the vibe of Heist Brewery, the food is alright, nothing spectacular. My husband got the double brisket burger with parmesan garlic fries, and I got the chicken with Mac and cheese. Both were decent. Service: you order at the bar and receive a number for your table. They will then bring your food to the table.

Yelp
Five years later, Heist is due for an update and the opportunity to show off our beer culture to one of my out-of-town friends. On a Sunday afternoon out of football season, Heist was not busy and we were able to get a hightop immediately. I popped up to the counter and placed our food and beer order - we split a pitcher of their "Druid" Pilsner and I brought that back to the table. Two hours later, we had drunk the beer and eaten the flatabread and the beer cheese with breadsticks. The flat bread was tasty and well topped. The beer cheese was tangy and the breadsticks were both crunchy and soft. Delicious. There is a lot of seating inside and outside - upstairs, downstairs, a huge back room. We were at a high top in the entrance and it was cool. I was pleased with how it turned out and glad to have Heist as an example of Charlotte's fabulous beer culture. Yelp
Great location with large indoor and outdoor seating areas. They do have flight cards you can fill out for a flight of four brews. The brewery has some of the top-rated beers in the state. I just wish the menu was powered by Untappd to be able to sort through it more efficiently. Service was okay from the bar, meaning you had to do your own running while someone secured your table. I cannot comment on the food since I did not order anything here. Otherwise, a great location just outside the main part of the city--well, at least it seems to be as I am only just getting a feel for one night as to what Charolette is about to begin with.
google avatar

Danielle K.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Heist brewery were visiting Charlotte for only 4 days and we visited this place twice because we liked it so much. They have a wide variety of beers. You can get something that tastes like Christmas up to a beer that tastes like you are on the beach sipping pina coladas. We sat outside on the patio under the umbrella but the inside is also HUGE. We also had lunch here and it was very good!! who knew breweries would have a great salad?

Yelp
I had somehow forgotten about this place, even though it was my go-to for weekend brunch before Covid for so many years. I have certainly reignited the flame!! They offer bottomless brunch and they have even expanded their offerings and have an amazing selection of the usual eggs and meats, fruits, biscuits and gravy, chicken wings, chicken and waffles, grits, SEAFOOD BROIL, an omelette and flatbread bar, and various desserts. They have coffee and juices, and lots of great drink specials. The bottomless brunch is a steal at $20 a head. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Says they are open. And there is a sign on the store saying they are closed. Mad. Took a Lyft to come here. Waste of money.

Yelp
First times at Heist Brewery for Sunday Brunch. I was so pleasantly surprised by the food options and how well they took care of you. We arrived right when they opened at 10:00 AM. For $20 per person you could get all you want to eat from this large spread of food choices. Choices included biscuits and gravy, bagels, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beef Wellington, chicken, waffles, French toast, fresh fruit, donuts, and pastries. You could also order a omelette made to order! Fresh coffee, OJ, etc were also provided. For $5 a carafe you can get a mimosa, Bloody Mary or beer. What a deal! There is plenty of seating and you can stay as long as you would like. I was really impressed with this Buffett. This was my first visit but definitely not my last. We are thinking of making it a regular visit! Excellent brunch Geist. Thank you!

Yelp
Very average food, drinks, and service. We popped in here on a Friday evening and it wasn't very busy. We were seated in an area that was SO hot it was almost warmer than outside. Service was spotty and slow. The frozen slushy drinks were hardly frozen, and one tasted like cough syrup. Appetizers (wings, beer cheese, fried pickles, french fries) were all pretty bland. Wouldn't come back.

Yelp
Excellent first time experience with Heist Brewery with one of their Oatmeal Stouts, The Brunch Junkie. Thin and smooth in body and coffee and oatmeal strong in taste this hit all the right marks for me. I do love stouts, especially oatmeal ones during the colder times of the year but when I had Brunch Junkie it was during a warmer season. Didn't matter with this stout. It's truly enjoyable anytime of the year. With such a great start with Heist with this beer I have hopes that their other beer selections are just as impressive!

Yelp
I have been to both Heist brewery locations and I must say they are both amazing. In this location my boyfriend and I ordered from the lunch menu. I ordered the shrimp po'boy and he ordered the beer cheese burger. The food was so delicious that once it got to the table we stopped talking and just started eating. The po'boy was so amazing I can't even express it in words. The shrimp was perfectly fried and the combination of the sausage link with Cole slaw was WOW!!!

Yelp
Great atmosphere to have some beers, food, and watch a game. I would definitely recommend

Yelp
I'm not a fan of breweries just for a regular everyday visit, but their Sunday brunch is a must! $20 gets you a buffet of some of the yummiest eats around! Coffee and juice are included on the bar with the price. They have everything from chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits to an omelette station. Fresh fruit and baked goods. The French toast was so good, out of this world. They also offer drink specials, I got the mimosa carafe which was only $10. Just a glass was $5 so yea that was a no brainer lol. The brunch is every Sunday from 10-2, and I highly suggest getting there early. Like before they open, I got there abt 930 just so I wouldn't have any probs finding parking, and there were already people standing outside forming a line lol.

Yelp
Great burger! The fries were insane. Strong recommend. Also a triple D's spot. Good job Guy!

Yelp
It's my first time having the Sunday Brunch. We saw it on an Instagram Reel and made plans to have it. I went with my daughter and we were extremely disappointed. All of the food looked as if it were hot. We can see steam at the buffet. But every thing we bit into was below luke warm to cold. We noticed other customers complaining about the same thing. We tried other options at the buffet and all came back cold. We addressed it with the bartender to let the manager know. Very disappointed to pay over $50 including tip for 2 cold brunch buffets. Wouldn't go back after this experience. The manager never even came to our table to address the matter.

Yelp
Kinda a weird experience! I got the burrata salad. The man at the bar asked me if I wanted to add grilled chicken to it and I said that would be great. When it came out it was like this sprinkled on dusted canned chicken on it , maybe pizza or quesadilla chicken. It was not grilled checked at all . Now I am looking at photos on their website Ans here on Yelp and I see that they have revaluation grilled chicken. I am not sure why they didn't add it , even though they clearly have it. I am sure what I ate ? But they shouldn't call it grilled chicken if they are using canned chicken. Weird.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I did a date night and we were not disappointed. The beer selection was awesome and we both loved that it changes every week! I got the chicken and waffle tacos. THEY WERE AMAZING. I asked for the sauce on the side and then decided to pour that stuff on top. My boyfriend got the chicken Caesar wrap and it looked amazing as well! We will definitely be back and try something new! The service was also amazing. Most people were sitting outside since the weather is right for it; however, I preferred to sit inside so that we could be away from the dogs that were outside. I have a service dog and it is rare that you find a place that doesn't make you feel like you are an inconvenience for having a disability. This really sold me on coming back!

Yelp
Excellent!!! Definitely a great fate night or just chill and vibe spot to watch the the game

Yelp
First of all, let's start out by saying how cost-efficient Heist breweries buffet is! Yes, we love a reasonably priced restaurant. It was self seating, which can get kind of tricky because it does tend to pick up and get busy and it can be hard to get a seat. Went on a Sunday and got a great spot in front of the TV to watch football football. I visited all the stations and tried a couple things and overall the food was pretty good. Nice variety I love sweets so the donuts or a nice touch. But the food had a universal saltiness to it however, it won't stop me from returning because it wasn't overpowering. It was just something that we noticed, they have so many different items, chicken flatbread, fruit, grits, home fries, eggs, muffins, great option for families, dates, or people just wanting to grab some food on a Sunday.

Yelp
Love taking my dog here when nice outside for brunch or happy hour on the big patio before walking around NoDa!!

Yelp
Went for a small fund raising event. Great atmosphere, food and drinks. Definitely a nice spot for a little show.

Yelp
OK, so this review is strictly for brunch... Visiting Charlotte you would think to yourself a brewery that serves all you can eat brunch I don't know how that is even a thing! But heist brewery doesn't disappoint! For one price all you can eat the options are limitless! From the made to order omelettes, to the shrimp and grits, to pizza, to danishes...AND Mimosas, of course! There is something special to satisfy every taste bud! Please do yourself a favor and enjoy brunch here!

Yelp
This was my first time but not the last time for sure. We were a party of 7 and went for a brunch. Just a heads up they do have a parking lot but it gets full quickly so make time for parking. There may also a bit of a wait so keep that in mind also. We just ordered a bunch of food to get a taste: -Pretzels w/beer cheese -Bbq flat bread loaded with Mac n cheese, Margherita flat bread, loaded lashed potato flat bread. -Jumbo wings -Mimosa pitchers: Pineapple, Orange, Grapefruit The food was absolutely delicious. All of it. Our waitress was great and prompt even with I'm sure a limited staff. They has multiple TVs ok showing football. So while my team lost, u enjoyed the food and the company. Highly recommend and will return for sure!

Yelp
Came here with friends for the start of Sunday Funday :) and the World Cup finals. We ordered separately from table (sometimes the my have table service, sometimes not). Friend of mine got the breakfast burger and it's probably the best I have ever had. Over easy egg, Canadian bacon, cheddar, etc. I ordered the Wings ($14) with a dry rub and Buffalo sauce on the side as well as parmasean truffle fries ($5) wings were juicy on the inside but crisped skin on the outside. Lots of parmasean cheese, fries crispy - Everyrhing came out at the perfect temperature. Sat at a high top for ten of us. It was fantastic.

Yelp
Great setup here. Plenty of outdoor dining. The atmosphere is awesome here. I bellied up to the bar and ordered a beer. I asked the bartender for a IPA recommendation. She poured a Citraquench'l. Hit out of the park, great citrus beer on a hot day. Now I came here because I saw a rerun of of Diners, drive-ins and dives, the night before. I wanted the burger, burger, burger but that was discontinued. I ordered the next closest thing. The Heist jam burger. It took a bit long, but I was in rush. When it came out the presentation was great. My expectations were sky high now. Unfortunately the sliders were severely over cooked. Terribly dry I did not enjoy one bit. If you need to cook them that well done, you need to add something moist. On the flip side, everyone else seemed to know better than me and really enjoying their meal. TLDR, order the beer, skip the burger

Yelp
I'm visiting from out of town and asked my beer connoisseur friends which brewery I should try, and Heist was on everyone's lists for both beer AND food. We went on a Sunday around 5 and it was quite packed. To be expected for a popular place like this. I wish I'd looked at the beer menu before settling on Heist only because their menu was predominantly IPA's and beers I don't typically drink. For that reason I just went with a flight and tried my luck. I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed most of them. I had 3 IPA's and 2 sours. The fruit punch sour was my favorite. The food menu was full of things I wanted to try!! Ultimately, I went with the sweet shiitake flatbread. I was looking forward to something mushroom forward, but it was very sweet. Yes, I realize the word "sweet" is in the description, but there were soooo many candied pecans and very few mushrooms. Don't get me wrong, it tasted great, because I was hoping for at least sweet AND savory, not just super sweet. Our server, Annie, was great and took very good care of us. I would definitely come back here again.

Drew D.

Yelp
I've been here a dozen times and the food is lower than sub par. Fried mozzarella was just that. Outside cooked inside just cold mozzarella sauce just jarred sauce with no flavor. I've tried maybe 15 beers and all of them flavorless on the back end. No balance whatsoever. I just don't get it. The good Location is nice. The ambiance is great. Music great. Staff wonderful. I just wish the food and beer were up to par.

Yelp
Ran in here for a quick drink while waiting on pizza next door at Benny's. Was surprised as it wasn't your typical brewery. Great outdoor seating, huge parking lot, always a plus in Charlotte. Inside more like a bar with food . Has servers too. Great little cocktail list which also surprised me. Was just expecting to see a few wines . Bartender was really great too, very friendly and hospitable. We ordered some beers, couple of old fashioned, fresh squeezed mimosas, and the empress 75. Everyone loved all the drinks, the fresh mimosa definite highlight as it tasted so good, fresh squeezed juice definitely makes a difference. Highly impressed they had Empress gin, so hard to find at any good bar let alone a brewery. So well done on that ! We all said we'd come back here for sure. Good vibe even on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Big brewery scene in Charlotte these days, so nice to find this little gem that caters to everyone.

Yelp
I've been to at least 50, maybe 100 microbreweries and Heist is one of my all time favorites. They absolutely kill New England Style IPA's and they have multiples of them...all are awesome! Cans to go ain't cheap by any stretch and they do food...look at all the pics. They utilize a wood fired oven. Full bar, signature cocktails, decent amount of lot parking with overflow on busy Davidson St. Lots of seating inside and their wifi is strong and free, just like 'Merica! We love sitting out front, but on a busy day, those tables are hard to get for sure as their aren't many tables really. Great service by multiple, super cool people when we were there. Tip well when it's deserved. Note, my favorite of their NE IPA's is Approaching Daylight, though the You can't Triple Stamp a Double Stamp is killer too. Don't be scared of Citraquench'l either. Unaffiliated but yummy pizza joint is attached next door and they serve monster slices if you want one to go...or a full pie. It's like a bonus having that place right there...it's called Benny Pennello's.

Yelp
came here with a private group and was sadly not impressed. The service was amazing, but the food was very underwhelming. I will say the pretzels and cheese were very good, but everything else I could have done without. The margarita pizza was almost like a a cracker with toppings. The kids mac and cheese was not very good. In my opinion a huge pro to this place is its one of the only restaurants in NoDa that has a parking lot attached. I have also been to a few events and really enjoyed my time! However, once I get a few drinks in me I'm hungry so the food is what brings it down. I would still consider the menu, picky eater approved!

Yelp
Our daughter introduced us to the Heist Brewery brunch and we've been back several times. It never disappoints. I normally don't like buffets but the food here is always fresh and varied. Asa southern girl I appreciate perfectly seasoned grits and scrambled eggs. There is an omelet station and today there was a waffle station. The pastries and donuts are fresh and delicious. There is always a good selection. The mimosas are awesome, if a little strong, we just add extra oj. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful it is always an enjoyable experience a d we are able to visit and not hurried out.

Yelp
Good beer selection with a great ambiance. The inside cozy with a lot of tvs and the outside was great for a sunset. Service was awesome, the servers and bartenders were super helpful and kind. Food was not as bad as some of the reviews state but wasn't anything out of the ordinary.

Yelp
Went here with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. This place is nice and had plenty is seating. It wasn't too busy went we arrived. The parking lot is small and very tight to move around when busy. We were able to find parking. We ordered a beer flight to sample there beer varieties. The ones I had were pretty good. You were able to pick the beers you wanted to try and you are able to pick 5 types. I also ordered the shrimp tacos and those were delicious. The service was great. Our server was friendly and very attentive. I will be coming back.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch with friends on a Sunday. The food wasn't overly impressive. Seemed like most things were pre-purchased muffins and instant eggs. The bartenders were nice and made a decent drink. The place was clean and nicely decorated.

Yelp
Good vibe, but expensive. Food looked amazing. Now I didn't try the food, but I'm going back as soon as I get my second job to afford going back. Beer was good, but again it was kinda expensive. Clean facilities and a great outdoor space for sitting.

Yelp
Looking for a hip place for food and drinks on the edge of Noda, look no further. There are plenty of tables outside on the patio to enjoy the weather or the Inside was wide open with lots of space and AC. The Menu was pretty big and plenty of options. They also have a mock tail menu on the drink menu titled "on the wagon"-the berry tenacious was really good and the lemon juice gave it a little tart kick. The HB grilled chicken sandwich I got was perfect size and tasty. Everything you would expect with a grilled chicken sandwich with a lot of seasoned/topping grilled chicken sammie. My friend got a quesadilla and she was pleased with it, nothing special. Insider tip: The menu is a la carte, but fairly priced, so plan accordingly. We got lucky with parking in the lot out front, as the lot typically fills up fast.

Yelp
Awesome food! We loved the chicken and waffle tacos, London Mule, and the massive growler root beer!

Yelp
So many positive reviews but my first experience here was for an event and it was a rather....interesting evening. Came the last day of February for a music event called couch sessions. Arrived 15 minutes early and there was parking so we parked down the street. The event started late so we had to stand in a line and wait to get in for 30 min. The event space was crowded and there weren't enough chairs for everyone to sit. My bf went and asked a staff member from the main area if we could get a chair and she scoffed at him saying they have enough in there already so no, no more chairs for the event. There was one bartender working the event for a crowd of about 75-ish (maybe) so the drink/food line took forever. Anyways, stood in it and ordered nachos and a margarita. Margarita was $12 and was tequila, cranberry juice and a lime. I know it's a brewery but sheesh...that was basic. Nachos came out within 15 min but the cheese was cold. Bathrooms in the event space had a paper sign on the door that said do not use but the door was open and the lights were on for the women. I asked a server if this was true and she said she didn't know but maybe a pipe burst or something but she wasn't sure. Overall, I get that most of the tardiness and planning was on the event host but one bartender, cold nachos, no seating after paying a $20 cover and an inop bathroom really didn't help.

Yelp
This place is great for beer, not so much for food though. I've been here 3 times to eat, after seeing them featured on food network diners, drive-ins, and dives. They must have a new chef because none of the food featured is on the menu anymore. They also now have a brunch buffet that's not worth it in my opinion, everything was just kind of underwhelming. The mimosa carafes were great at $10 for a large carafe, but otherwise the food fell flat. The most recent Time I went we got the sliders which were incredibly dry. The fried chicken Mac and cheese which was ok, and a Caesar salad which was completely inedible. The lettuce tasted frozen, I couldn't even eat more than a bite. It's a shame it went so far downhill after the show, because everything looked great on there. Come for a beer or two, skip ordering anything on the menu.

Yelp
This is definitely a yelpers challenge. I came here after watching the triple D episode featuring heist brewery. Parking was limited but we did find a space. Hard to find the entrance but we eventually found it. You have to walk down the hallway to a counter to order. You're asked to open a tab and then given a number. Menus are on QR codes. I ordered a show stopper beer which ultimately became the best decision of the night. Got the beer cheese pretzel for an appetizer. The cheese was good, but the pretzel was just about the saltiest thing I've ever tasted in my entire life. Triple D highlighted the burger, burger, burger, and the duck confit flatbread, both of which were unfortunately no longer available. I got the generic three burger slider and it was okay. Wife got the margarita flatbread and it was underwhelming. After a porter and a fruity beer, we cashed out and left. Will we be back? Probably. I just wish they had the same level of food that they showed on television.

Yelp
Parking: pretty big lot so it shouldnt be a problem Atmosphere: inside dining with lots of space inside. Outside patio with tables and umbrellas, dog friendly (not inside). We saw out, i can see it getting very hot but luckily we went when the sun was setting Drinks: did not get their food since we wanted to explore the area more. They had a flight option (up to 5) for about $10. We shared a couple of their stouts, their mango puft, and IPA. I think it would have been much better if the beer was actually cold. It did take them a while to get our flight to us so not sure if it was just sitting out after being poured but it was basically lukewarm when we had our first sip. Personally, the beers were just okay.

Yelp
Heist Brewery is one of those places that you need to check what's going on before you go. They are ever evolving and changing their service model. Having said that...the employees have always been accommodating and pleasant and the food and drinks are crafted to order. Today's visit was on a Sunday and they have a limited menu on Sundays. Who knew? We certainly didn't. So after seating ourselves (which was new) and getting the limit Sunday menus (which was new to us) we had to order at the bar (again something new to us for them) We had a large party so we ordered a bunch of apps which were all good but would feed really only 4 people each at best but we made it work with the variety we had. The flat breads would feed more than four people with each just having one a piece. Overall the food has always been very good and the mixed drinks are great but inconsistent in what kind of glass they are served in. So some may be bigger or smaller depending on glass but same price. I suggest be open minded and go with the flow or choose another option.

Yelp
Heist has always been one of my favorite breweries due to the way they deliver with both food and drinks. However, my last visit was a little lacking from my usual great experience. Our waitress explained that they had recently switched out some seasonal items on both the food and drink menus. To start, we ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer. We asked for the bacon jam on the side. Without the bacon jam, the brussel sprouts definitely needed some additional seasoning. My husband said the bacon jam added the right amount of salt. It was a little difficult to eat, however, as we had to wait awhile for serving plates. The star of the night was definitely the drinks. My husband ordered the Apple Mule which was on special. I had the Cranberry Mule. Both are made with their house made Ginger Beer (not pictured) which is delicious by itself. For his entree, my hubby had the chicken and waffle sandwich which he said was delicious due to the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. My mango shrimp tacos though were a bit bland unfortunately. It is worth noting that I did not get the chicharones dust on top. But the shrimp could have benefitted from some additional seasoning. We also ordered a side of fries which were yummy but not pictured. I will definitely be back for the drinks and fries. Next time I will probably try one of the flatbreads. Pro-tip: Be prepared to mask up and have your temperature taken before being seated.

Yelp
All of the beers we drank were great, good flavor profiles and use of hops. The beer menu explains which hops they use in the beers which is super helpful for those that like certain hops. Ended up eating dinner here, the burger and chicken wrap were really good! Didn't come with fries which isn't a bad thing but if you want fries - remember to order them separately. This is spot worth visiting when in NoDa.
