HEIST Restaurant + Wine Club

It took us a while to get around to going out to Heist, a somewhat recent addition to Kingston's restaurant lineup. Being on the higher end of the dining out spectrum we waited for an important event. On arriving I was surprised by the size of the restaurant. They have a large capacity and were very busy. This led to longer wait times for food, and even longer times for mistakes with the order but it was not unbearable. The food itself was pricey but delicious. During less busy times there are Sunday and early bird deals so time your visit to not break the bank. I highly recommend the deep-fried pork belly which was a serving large enough to accommodate our party of three, and was perfectly prepared. The pizzas are all interesting combinations and from our visit the Stuff Eggplant and Fettuccine Alfredo were solid meals. We are certain to be back to explore more of the menu! I was surprised, and a bit put off by the reservation system charging quite heftily for no-shows. I understand the potential lost revenue for a restaurant when diners do not show up, but it is not like reservations are being tied up and sold on the black market here - we're talking Kingston. It puts a bit of an ominous vibe over the outing before even getting started which is not ideal, and makes me feel less like a guest and more like a potential cash cow.

I had such a great experience at Heist Restaurant, Wine & Club for Valentine’s Day! The whole experience was very unique and beautifully organized. The atmosphere was cozy, romantic, and perfect for a special night out. The food was absolutely delicious — everything was very tasty and well presented. The customer service was also excellent. There was a small mistake with our table at the beginning, but the staff handled it immediately and very professionally. They noticed it themselves and offered us a complimentary courtesy, which we really appreciated. That level of attention and care made a big difference. Overall, it was a wonderful evening and a great place to celebrate something special. I will definitely be going back!

Love this restaurant here at Kingston, ON. I had dinner here and the service is so prompt! Drink and food was served quickly. So far all the fish that I've tried here at Kingston are soo delicious! Here at Heist I love their grilled Branzino. The service is wonderful. Kaya is the best. She's very friendly and accommodating. I had fun chatting with her. The place is elegant and relaxing, it's my kind of vibe for a place. The price is right for the size of the food. I was so full. I will definitely comeback! 😊 ❤️

This has quickly become my top spot in Kingston. Heist delivers an incredible experience from start to finish. The ambiance feels spot on, the seating is unbelievably comfortable, and the staff creates such a welcoming energy. Every dish impressed, and the drink selection pairs beautifully with the menu. Zoe took great care of us with her attentiveness and knowledge, making the visit even more enjoyable.

This is a very classy place. The staff is very accommodating and they do their best to make sure your visit is satisfactory. I LOVED the atmosphere. Specifically the washrooms are so fancy and cute, which is one of my favourite things at restaurants. Chocolate mousse was an AMAZING dessert, cannot stop thinking about it.

We reserved Heist's room "The Courtyard" for our wedding dinner/reception of just under 40 people. We had eaten ourselves at Heist before so we knew the food was good and boy did they deliver. The menu was perfect with something for everyone, and a customizable wine list. The staff was excellent the entire time. Warm, accommodating and extremely professional. The service was superb, there were the perfect number of servers that we felt attended to the whole dinner but not too many that we felt they were in the way. They were all knowledgeable and were able to answer our questions. We wanted a nice dinner for our wedding and we received many, many comments from guests saying it was the best wedding meal they've ever had. The process leading up to our event was pleasant, the events company was prompt and professional with their communication. Heist themselves were great as well, even letting us come in a bit early to add our personal touch to the space. The entire night was a dream to us, even though we were in our own room it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We would highly recommend Heist Restaurant and Wine Club for anything from a date night to a wedding dinner, we plan on celebrating our anniversaries there (and many more date nights) for many years to come.

Food was very well-prepared. I recommend the polenta as the frying and crispness really brought the flavor of the traditional recipe out. Vegan and vegetarian friendly!

My new favourite restaurant in Kingston! Heist checks every box in my books. The atmosphere is perfection. The seating is the most comfortable ever. The staff is lovely. The food was outstanding. The drinks menu and food menu is delightful. Zoe was our server and she was very attentive and knowledgeable.

We had a great dinner here, really enjoy the atmosphere and the service was excellent. Some really great Wine selections not usually available elsewhere. Food was magnificent and desert was also just as good. Would recommend you visit

10/10 all around. the food was so good and flavorful, i sat at the bar so the service was good and the bartender even offered me a free lemon drop shot (yay!). overall this restaurant would make the perfect place for a night out with friends, family, or date night. the whiskey sour was soo good, i only needed 1. also the portions were good for the price, which in my opinion is a good price point for the quality of food, overall vibe and service.

the pasta dish was really quite nice , I have no critiques of the food itself. the sauce had a great savory taste, the sausage was a great addition, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. my only issue is the price! $29 for this pasta dish... 2025 is really gonna bankrupt me. the restaurant interior is stunning. it's so spacious and long and really lovely. even the exterior is nice tbh. the staff were so kind and accomodating. if you don't mind spending a bit extra, I definitely recommend this place

Absolutely stunning restaurant! The espresso martinis are the best I've ever had - not too sweet and always so good that we have to order another round. Menu highlights include the steak tartar, oysters, gnocchi and steak. Everything we've had so far has been absolutely delicious. I will say that, just like any restaurant, there can be hiccups. My husband ordered his steak rare, and it came out well done. We told the waitress and she had another one made, but it took quite a long time. It was a little disappointing as my food had already come out and I wanted to enjoy it warm, so I ate - and then by the time I was done his meal arrived. So we ended up eating separately. Not the end of the world, but worth mentioning as it's really nice when steaks are checked before heading out to the tables. Still giving it 5 stars because the food and ambiance are top notch!

What a treasure! First of all, the service was really amazing. The food was excellent. Perfect portions. We had oysters, followed by scallops then entrees. We were not rushed at all. We paired drinks and enjoyed our entire meal. We will definitely be back!!!

The food was expensive and not good. The stuffed eggplant was awful - tastless and greasy. The broccoli was overcooked . I suffered severe diarrhea when I got home. The service and ambiance were good...but... Dave Gordon

Excellent atmosphere and welcoming service! We were very pleased with the cocktails, caesar salad and pizzas. The wine was excellent as well. Pricey but you get what you pay for! Highly recommended!

Excellent food and service with a very comfortable patio area. Started with complementary focaccia bread that I had trouble saving for the delicious mussel broth. The fritto misto was great with a light tempura batter on the calamari shrimp and salmon. The chicken was a great choice for its crispy skin and tender moist meat. They have a reasonable selection of wine by the glass. Overall a great meal and highly recommended.

Extremely slow, overpriced and mediocre food. Pass. We waited a full 45 mins to get order in and then everything took forever to come. A full 2.5 hr supper experience ...: with less than stellar food.
