Excellent stay in Chamonix for our 5 day ski trip. Loved the thoughtful touches such as free coffee, hot chocolate, and water refills. Helpful staff, spotless spa, and very attentive room cleaning and service. Only a short walk to the main Sud bus station

Nice hotel near the center. 5 mins walk from skibus. Just across aquille de midi lift. Plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. Nice spa with Hammond, sauna, pool, jacuzzi and ice room. Hardly any space to lie down, which is a pity. Room was nice, bit dark but had all what you need.

It's simple and OK, could be much better!!! The Toilets are cheap and in need of an upgrade, Rooms are not properly sound insulated, to reach the SPA, you need to go through the Wet Area of the Pool... I have to stay that the people at the Front Desk were extremely helpful (Maybe be kicking it up a Notch, from OK to Nice)

We stayed at the Heliopic from 31 December to 8 January. First, the summary: one of the best hotels in its category in all of Europe's ski resorts we have been so far. The value for money is outstanding, the small and complimentary amenities are an added bonus, and the integrated AKASHON and FROMETON restaurants leave no doubt that you will feel very comfortable here. Even the check-in was exceptionally comfortable and warm – you immediately feel welcome and well looked after. The hotel garage is spacious and reasonably priced. The possibility of charging electric vehicles free of charge is certainly worth mentioning – a modern and extremely practical extra that made our stay much easier. A real highlight was the complimentary room upgrade: our room was even more spacious, stylishly furnished and very well maintained. The bathroom was a little small, but that didn't affect our comfort in any way. The service is outstanding – always friendly, helpful and professional. Particularly practical: we were able to order our ski passes directly at the hotel, which made getting started on the slopes much easier. The location is ideal: the ski bus is only a few minutes' walk away, so you can get to the lifts quickly and easily. The gondola to the Aiguille du Midi is practically on the doorstep! We particularly liked the little extras: a free water dispenser with still and sparkling options, the coffee machine, and crepes and ice cream – simply wonderful for starting or ending the day in comfort. The spa area is modern, clean and very well maintained. Although the design is rather cool, the facilities leave nothing to be desired. The 75-minute couples massage was balm for the soul. Particularly positive: the children's policy is strictly adhered to, which was a basic requirement for us and ensured absolute peace and relaxation. A small note about the spa: the fact that more than half of the guests do not follow the sauna rules (entering the sauna without showering and without a towel, leaving the sauna without showering and going straight into the pool) is a cultural problem that we have observed (as in the past) primarily among guests from certain non-European countries. We have learned not to factor this into our ratings. It is also unclear whether the disregard for the sauna rules is unintentional or the result of pure ignorance. As for the integrated restaurants AKASHON and FROMETON, let the reviews convince you. Very important: ignore the 1-star reviews completely. It is objectively impossible that anything could justify such a rating. The AKASHON team in particular is not capable to deliver ANYTHING that would result in such a rating. Good location, but awful service. Especially one lady at the checkin counter, wears glasses, is the manager I think. Terrible attitude toward guests (not just me). The rooms themselvrs are okay, the bathroom is very small. Don't expect a nice bath/shower. Overall: absolutely not worth the money, plenty of other hotels in the exact same area, with better service and greater amenities.

Terrible design of the rooms, no feeling of mountain chalet like we used to…also check the swimming pool rules before booking —> kids below 13y.o. must be and are kicked out before 2pm even if there are few people, no flexibility here. We also asked to have a door to door placing as we booked 2 rooms a lot in advance (in Sep for Dec), but were split apart. We are very disappointed, our 3rd time in Chamonix and such a bad choice for us. Also a woman on the reception in the mask showed no customer service empathy and kindness, when I was admitting and devastated for my son I didn’t check the rules about 13yo swimming pool restrictions, she was repeating like a robot you should have read the rules..at least she could show some understanding instead of checking how I booked (directly on the website or via booking / other services)..

Always a wonderful place to stay in Chamonix, great hotel with great facilities and lovely staff. The on site restaurant is very good, and lots of nice touches around the hotel; refillable water bottles , free hot drinks, sweets and crepes were being given out on the Sunday. Spa can get busy but is very welcome after a big hike.

This is a wonderful hotel,with on-point service and amenities. We left luggage here at the beginning of our 11 day TMB trek, and has one bag ported via taxi from our last hotel. When we arrived, all bags were in our room, and we weary travelers did not have to carry! There is free coffee and hot chocolate as well as filtered and sparkling water in the lobby. Breakfast is abundant and good, spa is excellent, rooms great. We loved it here.

Great location. Right next to the hotel is a cable car that will take you to the top of the French alps. You will not be disappointed. It is a bit pricey for the tickets but worth the views of heaven on earth. Hotel: 1. Very nice and informative receptionists at front desk. 2. Clean and modern 3. Rooms are small but well furnished with great views from the balcony. 4. Restaurant on first floor has a buffet with a delicious variety of breakfast items 5. Dinner at the same restaurant is not worth it. 6. Room 402: avoid at all costs. WiFi worked well on first floor but not in this room. The waye

Very enjoyable experience for a couples stay. The chalet is a conveniently located next to the aerial tram. During our stay in January the line was closed due for safety reason, but the front was well informed on operation hours. The spa was lovely and is included in the hotel stay. The indoor pool is a perfect temperature and the ice bath is an interesting experience. My favorite part of the hotel was the well informed and passionate restaurant. The pairing of flavors and I tasted the best French wine with the hosts recommendation. I'd love to visit again.

Loved this hotel as a base for our hiking up in the Mont Blanc area. After a day of hiking, to return to the pools, saunas and steam rooms was an added benefit we didn't originally know about. The kids were happy that they could enter those facilities as well. The family room with the built in bunk bed was really well designed and space saving and the views of the the town and mountains from our room was beautiful. Exceptionally clean and comfortable!

This hotel was good but it has the potential to be AMAZING. Our room was extremely clean and I enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The breakfast had many options and you could indulge or be healthy depending on your mood. I had dinner at the restaurant and really did not enjoy my meal, I think the restaurant is popular out of convenience. The spa is also fantastic, except the majority of the day it is over run by children who are not being monitored by their parents. It is ridiculous that they have a "Relaxation" hour at the spa where people are supposed to be quiet but its a spa it should always be like that! Anyway the relaxation hour is only advertised and not enforced and you have kids screaming and running around into the pool and jacuzzi, in and out of the steam and sauna room letting the hot hair escape. The services (i had a facial and massage) were excellent, especially since there were no kids to annoy me. I do not have kids, I am on vacation, not at Disneyland, its a spa not a day care. The other parts of the hotel that cater to the kids did not annoy me because its the lobby, I am not expecting peace and quiet in the there. The ski shop in the hotel is convenient. The check in staff are fine, not personable but they get the job done. Do not expect recommendations, once day at 2:30 I asked where I could grab lunch and I was told "In France most places do not serve food after 2 pm, you can go to a bistro or all day restaurant but they are not very good". I mean I was not asking for your judgement on my eating habits or if you could recommend a place with a michelin star. Needless to say I took a walk around the downtown core and found a delicious crepe and was satisfied. O and I speak French but even if I didnt, you work in hospitality, not hostility, do you not want tourists to come and support your job? The wifi is fast and easy to connect to. There is free popcorn and candy in the lobby for kids, you can eat it as an adult. As I mentioned, the rooms are extremely clean and spacious so you can store all your ski gear.

The definition of mediocre. Food and breakfast was gross. Don't pay for the continental breakfast. 16 euro for yogurt, toast, and empty egg/bacon/sausage trays that were not refilled during the 30 minutes we sat there. Also the front desk guy - Jullien should learn what customer service means. He was impolite, unhelpful and blatantly rude. They put a family next to our room and the baby was up all night crying and the other child was playing and hitting the walls. When we mentioned it, Julien rolled his eyes at us and then never said a word. He never offered an apology or showed any concern whatsoever about their customers confort. We spent too much money at the hotel/bar/spa to be treated that way. We won't be back and we will be sure to tell our friends to find a different hotel to stay at when they visit Chamonix.

Had to cancel our trip due to medical emergency. Notified the hotel almost a week before to try to cancel or get credit for future dates. No help what so ever. Pretty sure they were able to resell the room as it was high season and very limited availability in the area. Seems like customer service is not a priority. This is just bad business and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

This is a great hotel in Chamonix. The rooms were very modern, clean, and comfortable with more than average amount of space for a European hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful for any needs. There is a really nice indoor pool and spa, and it's conveniently located within walking distance to the town center and many restaurants and shops. A bus stop is also located directly in front of the front door for transport to town or local ski areas (not to mention the in-house ski shop).

The hotel itself was great. The staff was not. As Americans, we understand that we are not their favorite guests and for that, we spoke very politely and cautiously and this still did not help. The girls at the checkin counter were awful. We were told 15 minute wait and after 30 minutes, we inquired again and that was the wrong thing to do. We ended up waiting over 2 hours in the lobby from when we were told 15 minute wait. My wife attempted to curl her hair and it immediately burnt her hair off. As she lay sobbing on the bed, i asked at the desk if they had another curling iron. This prompted enormous laughter and the girl could hardly answer.

Great location. Clean and modern hotel. Right next to Midi ski lift and 7 minute walk to downtown Chamonix. The spa is superb and the service is amazing!

Very nice hotel. Well situated walking 5 minutes to the heart of town. The rooms are spacious, the spa area is beautiful. The hotel has a slight business feel to it but we enjoyed it. The hotel is quite new and they are working out some kinks such as there are not enough ski lockers for every room. Also the hotel does not have its own ski shuttle service. You have to use public transport. Otherwise, it was a great week we had here.
