Yelp
One word: fanfrickingtastic! Wow! By far, one of the Top 5 Bars in Denver for me!
After going to the Denver Center for Performing Arts, we wanted to go to Hell or High Water Tiki Bar. We found the address, but assumed ownership had changed. We sat down and ordered a drink, only to find out there are two bars in one location. (We're not the brightest candle on the menorah).
Downstairs is the Honor Farm, which bills itself as a haunted spirit house. Let's just say the cocktail menus would throw me into Facebook jail if I had posted them there, but as this is Yelp, readers need to know. Both these bars are not for the faint-of-heart. If you're easily offended, go find a Applebee's or something. The menus and decor go hand-in-hand.
We quickly finished our drinks at Honor Farm, and not because this sloppy drunk tried to sit in our booth and fell out of his chair. Pure entertainment that was. Before heading upstairs to Bar Deux, this nice gentleman came to talk to us. It turns out he's the DJ and they do drag brunches on Sundays. We have to go back for that.
But I digress. We headed upstairs to Hell or High Water Tiki Bar, and immediately, I was in heaven! I'm all about tiki bars and Hawaiian shirts. This bar certainly had a naughty twist, which I'm all about, too. The backstory is this represents a haunted pirate ship, whose crew was a bunch of gay pirates. It doesn't get better than that. Oh, yes it does! The drinks! Let me tell you, you'd better eat something or you'll be as snapped up as I was going home. I don't remember half of the light rail ride. I do vaguely remember mocking people, but I do that when I'm sober.
The decor, the drinks, the atmosphere, the staff are all what I'm about. I totally will be back a lot and bring a lot of my gay pirate friends!
Oh, and if you are easily offended, don't bother looking at the pictures attached to this review. I will say, you need to get out more.
