The atmosphere is an enjoyable modern aesthetic with wood accents. When you arrive, the servers get a hot towel ready for you to clean hands which gave the impression of quality but that’s about it. We wanted to try it out after hearing about the successful chain. However the hand rolls were nothing special and a tad small. I can appreciate the chef flowing through 4-5 different groups of people serving the hand rolls with positive energy and delivering our items accordingly. The service became unpleasant when the waiter’s attentiveness changed. I was taken back when they cut me off while I was ordering something out of stock. I took a look at the menu for a second and he walked away to help the customer beside me who asked him a bunch of things. I even waited for them to go through a guessing game of his ethnicity. I can understand servicing a needy customer but there should be considerations that we were first and we’re waiting right beside them. He apologized and we end up getting our drinks somewhere else which had much better service. Can’t say I’ll return anytime soon.

Permit me to express my heartfelt admiration. The hand rolls, the salmon oshi, and the wagyu oshi were, without exaggeration, of uncommon excellence. The unagi hand roll stood above the rest, refined in flavour and perfectly judged. I am equally indebted to Ryoma, Juliana, and Josue, whose manner was distinguished by courtesy, discretion, and a most agreeable sincerity. My warmest thanks to you all.

Hello Nori started in Vancouver and has been making its mark in Toronto ever since. The first King Street location was already a hit, sleek, consistent, and everything you’d want from a handroll bar. So when the Front Street location opened, it felt like a great addition to the lineup. Food wise, this spot keeps the same standards as King. The handrolls are fresh, crisp, and packed with umami. The nori has that perfect snap, the fillings are flavourful, and the wasabi and ginger taste clean and bright. Cocktails still solid. Overall, the quality of the actual food is exactly what you’d expect from Hello Nori. The only noticeable difference between this location and the original King Street one is the service. The staff here seemed pretty inattentive and slow to respond. When my wife and I were seated, we were placed next to dirty dishes left by the previous guests. We ordered, got our rolls, and those same dishes were still sitting there. It wasn’t until we were on our second to last handroll that someone finally came around to clear the table. The same issue showed up with water, no one checked in, and we had to ask a staff member ourselves right after being seated. Nothing majorly wrong, just a general lack of attentiveness that stands out when everything else is so good. In short, fantastic food, great concept, still one of the best handroll bars in the city. This location just needs to polish up the service to match the quality of the rolls.

Atmosphere is very nice and the staff are very attentive. The seating is bar style and the place is very busy so if you come with a large group, you might have to wait a whole to get a seat. The food is amazing though. I ordered the 5 piece set and my favourite was the buttered scallop hand roll with the truffle lobster as a close second.

Service was amazing, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the hand rolls are made in front of you. However, it’s really not worth the price since everything is tiny yet super expensive. Hello Nori is extremely hyped up despite the menu was super basic, it just feels like a cash grab for tourists. You’re paying for the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant, not so much for the food. You can definitely get much better (and authentic) sushi options elsewhere in Toronto.

Was having a late dinner and didn’t want to get anything that was heavy, so my choice stopped on sushi. As I was approaching this place, I thought it was closed as it looked dark from the outside. Luckily, I saw someone walking in, so I decided to try it as well. This place is a Subway of sushi, but on the high end. I went with a 5-roles choice. The service was superb, the rolls were fresh. My personal favorite was with scallops - it had some tobiko, so added crunch to a soft scallop. Delicious. I also enjoyed truffle lobster roll. The service was superb! Highly recommend this spot.

I heart. Sushi is fresh. Get the scallop, blue fin tuna, grilled eel. You have to savor each bite to truly enjoy. Went during off-peak times. Can get busy during Monday to Friday at lunch and dinner peak times. Good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Can add if up ordre multiple Rolls.

Andrew was a wonderful server to us and all staff were inviting, warm, and friendly! All fish and seafood were extremely fresh, rice was warm, and nori was crispy! 10/10 experience coming here and highly recommend everyone to give this place a try!
