Was here the other night with a mate. The service was fast-paced, maybe a bit too rushed for my liking. There’s a chubby middle-aged manager who I actually found quite cute, which added a bit of sparkle to the night. But let’s talk about the food — to be honest, I really didn’t get it. The pricing is on the high side compared to many nearby restaurants, yet the presentation and portion size didn’t justify it at all. We ordered three different dishes, and all of them were tiny, like they were made for display rather than eating. Including drinks, the bill went over $120, and I left still feeling hungry. The food we ordered reminded me of something I could grab at an Asian takeaway for $15 — nothing special, just ordinary but more portions. Presentation-wise, it looked like something prepped by casual student workers on a busy shift. For a restaurant charging this much, you’d expect more flair and flavour. If you’re looking for value for money or a satisfying meal, this place might not be your best bet.

Hidden away in Fish Lane South Brisbane. This hidden little gem is a must do. We love the share plate concept and great array of foods on offer. We didn't have a reservation but they were very happy to accommodate us for a late lunch. We tried the eggplant fries, yellow fin tuna and fried chicken. They offer a large array of drinks but unfortunately don't have coffee. We will definitely try again. We parked in Wilson Parking across the road and this worked well.

A favourite of ours for many years. Maris, Jesse, and the team always keep the menu evolving while keeping a few house classics like prawn toast, dumplings, and curries. If you enjoy bold Asian flavours, this place delivers in spades; think nam jim, laksa dressing, yuzu ponzu, Davidson plum, hoisin, Sichuan pepper - all well used with purpose throughout a broad but considered and concise menu. The snack menu has great options like crispy tofu, eggplant chips, and bay lobster dumplings with fermented chilli butter (personal favourite). Larger share plates include dishes like delicately poached chicken salad with papaya or heftier items like the confit duck fried rice. The drinks list includes well-made cocktails to match, and a solid selection of wines, including some back vintages at great prices comparable to elsewhere in this precinct. Consistently a great dining experience. ***** Five stars *****

Food was delicious. We had the set menu, but even that was a bit confusing as when we booked we were told the set menu would be different to the one on the evening. As our table was greater than six, we were told we could only have the set menu. We got seated by the maître de, but he kind of left us to fend for ourselves. Asking the waiter about the cocktails she tells us she doesn’t drink alcohol and couldn’t help us. Not like it’s her job to know the menu, I guess. When food was brought to our table we had to ask for the staff to tell us what was brought. The food was magnificent, very delicious, the service subpar. While clearing the plates one of the waiters dropped a dirty knife on the birthday girl, staining her new white shirt, but no apologies were given. During the meal it seemed like we were an inconvenience to the waiter when we wanted more drinks. I would happily order take away from here next time but not sure about going back to dine.

Tried Hello Please on a whim as we couldn’t get into into some of the other restaurants in Fish Lane on a busy Saturday night for a preshow dinner. We didn’t have a reservation but they accommodated us immediately. The hostess realised immediately that we were there for a preshow meal and made sure our orders went in quickly so we could finish our meal on time. Amazing thoughtful service! The food came out quickly and was excellent all around. Bold pan-Asian flavours with a focus on spice. The cocktails that we tried were also delicious. Would highly recommend and is high on our list for a return visit, especially if we were heading to QPAC.

The sauce of the chicken dish and the duck wontons we had were amazing! The server was really friendly and bubbly.

Most enjoyable experience with exceptional service from moment we arrived. All the dishes we ordered were full of flavour in every single bite. There was freshness in the ingredients which made the dishes stand out and taste superb.

Great food. Maybe a bit pricey, but was there to treat a friend, so wasn't too fussed. They were very accommodating and help my friend feel very special for her birthday.

Yelp
Food: Really nice clean, yum flavours. Certainly come back to eat. Drinks: Mediocre and over priced. An aperol spritz is not a cocktail - just an $18 mixer. What ruined the experience was the massive Blonde Hair through the food. Accidents happen but when mentioned we got a quick apology and nothing else. Shortly after the bill came out at full price. No offer for discount or a free drink. Poor form.

Yelp
This is a funky and unique new addition to the Brisbane food and laneway scene. Hello Please is an open air restaurant with a kitchen housed in a shipping container. There isn't really an eatery category which it fits into; it's definitely doing its own thing! But first, it is bloody freezing even with the heaters on a cold and/or breezy day. Unfortunately we landed a particularly windy evening for dinner. It is also under the train line, which adds plenty to the noise at times. I'm really intrigued what the plan is for inclement weather. Brisbane has plenty of wet days to challenge an open air eatery. And now, the food. Great menu options. The flavours are very good and I would say quite authentic. There are certainly liberties taken, with more fusion offerings (eg ribs) but the traditional dishes are true to form. We had the chicken ribs which were salty but delicious, beef dumplings (of sorts) wrapped in betel leaves, pho ga (chicken) and bun bo hue. My chicken pho wasn't nearly hot enough even at the start however I thought the flavour was good. I'm a little conflicted how to rate them. I think I'd rest on 3.5 stars. The food was good, service was friendly but the conditions are very subject to weather and it's hard to enjoy your food when you're freezing! I would definitely return on a day with milder weather as I'm keen to try some other dishes.

Yelp
We just left this place without ordering anything. The menu looks good but based on the "do-not-care" attitude of the staff and their clear disinterest in their customers' experience we won't be going back. It was 5pm and the entire restaurant was completely empty yet they had the music pumping like it was 10pm. They seated us 1 meter from the speaker and when we asked whether they could turn the music down, they offered us a different spot, 2 meters away from the speaker. They obviously have a business model where they pump people in an out like cattle, don't really care about the customer experience. Don't recommend. There are so many other terrific restaurants nearby.
