I tried their signature bene with mushroom, and I totally get why it’s called the ‘signature’ the moment I took a bite🤤 The sauce was super unique, and egg was perfectly well cooked. And idk how they made just a single mushroom taste that good. The coffee was spot on too, served at the perfect temp. It’s a bit of a mission to get there by bike but honestly, so worth it☕️ Highly recommend to start a day with this beautiful, friendly cafe🙂

🍓: We've been going to Hello Sunday for years now. All throughout their menu updates and changes we have loved every single dish we've gotten. The chefs clearly put a lot of love and effort into everything they create. And the specialty drinks and cabinet goodies are equally as delicious. ✨️: Some of the friendliest staff in Canterbury, we always feel so welcome here no matter the day, time or group size we go with! The inside of Hello Sunday is kind of like the Tardis, it is so much bigger on the inside. Love the decor and always love the bustle of a busy and wonderful cafe. Whilst visiting New Zealand we visited a few restaurants in Christchurch, I can confidently say that Hello Sunday Cafe is the best! The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish crafted to perfection. Every bite was an explosion of flavors that left us wanting more. The ambience was beautifully designed, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The team was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and genuinely opassionate about providing an excellent dining experience. It was, without a doubt, the best meal we’ve had in all of New Zealand. I highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional brunch cafe experience in Christchurch!

We had a spectacular brunch before seeing a movie nearby. I had the hotcake pictured below - that was my sweets for the day - almost! Hello Sunday is just so reliably good. I suggest booking at busy times and did you know they are dog-friendly?

Cute place with lovely atmosphere. It was definitely on me to order sweet on sweet. The decadent mocha was a bit overkill as it was really sweet.. the french toast was good, i would get them again next time. Eggs benny had a really great bacon on it. Overall great

Excellent service, fried chicken is delicious and coffee was creamy, but Eggs Benedict was a disappointment. Would not recommend adding bacon tasted like nothing but burnt fat.

Fantastic spot. So many options on the menu that I'm keen to get back and try. Very good coffee and great staff. It does get busy at peak times and pays to book a table in advance but if not, table turnover is pretty efficient. Looking forward to the next visit

Interesting atmosphere with antique items on display in a historic building. Food served on big plates with paper napkins. Some small rooms with single tables and one long lounge room with lots of plants and couches. The breakfast food was decadent with plenty of rich fat and sugar. A bit past the healthy range and trending to the unbalanced. The children in our group could not finish their heavy meals and we're bouncing with sugar energy. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were also up there. A visit here is sure to impress, but I would not make a habit of eating here.

Yelp
very cute shop with good coffee (tiramisu latte) and innovative meals (beef cheek hash + Black Forest oats). Turkish eggs for me were a little bland but crispy chickpeas were the best part of the dish- worth it. service was good and food came out timely :) a little empty this morning but lively nonetheless! overall pretty decent breakfast!

Yelp
This is mostly to confirm the previous reviews were on point as the last review was a while ago. Make reservations if you can. We didn't and were seated quickly, but I noticed our table was reserved after us. The food and service were great.

Yelp
This place is a must for breakfast if you are Christchurch! They are very creative with the food and their food is presented nicely. I went with the beef hash cheek. It was good but nothing spectacular. The portion was good. If the potatoes were more crispier and salty it would have been better, nevertheless still a good order. My wife went with the granola. I thought it was going to be a boring order but I was proven wrong!!! It tasted great and the portion was big. Finally the reason for the five star rating is their banana loaf which we shared. It's a must if you are in hello Sunday cafe.

Yelp
I definitely recommend a booking for this fantastic brunch spot in the CBD. It ranks up as one of my top brunch spots in Christchurch and one not to be missed by locals and visitors alike. There will absolutely be a wait if you don't have a booking (and maybe even so if you do have a booking and tables haven't turned over, the space is small and the wait is worth it). If you try to walk in (as we did) the staff will usher you to a waiting room in the store next door and ask for your drink order. Having the coffee while we waited helped wake us up and keep us cheery. About 30 minutes later we were seated at a small wooden table with a chair on one side and wooden bench seat on the other. My husband ordered the Ham Hock Waffles and I ordered the Avocado Smash (not listed on their online menu). The Ham Hock Waffle was a large waffle smothered in ham hock bits and a tomato relish salad complete with melted cheese covering the waffle, chunks of soft cheese, tomatoes, rocket and sprouts. The presentation is fabulous, but the flavor is even better. The Avocado Smash was simply a piece of multi-grain toast simply smothered in smashed avacado and topped with a poached egg, served with polenta fries and chopped cherry tomatoes on the side. Holy Yum. I didn't even want to share with hubby, but since he let me try the waffle, I had to return the favor. VERY reluctantly. We also split a cinnamon bun, which disappeared from our plates before I could snap a photo. It was warm, gooey and fantastic. Overall, effective table turnover, presentation, wait time and taste all exceeded my expectations. You MUST try this brunch spot out!

Yelp
Tom Jones playing in the background... mad rush of takeaway coffee slurpers... but if you sit down and take the time to enjoy breakfast (small but refreshingly different menu to to the nz/au fare) you will be very pleasantly surprised. Had the shakshuka for breakfast ($22) and was fantastic. Came with home made flat bread with sea salt and caraway seeds. Really good. And with an awesome friendly staff, this can easily become your go to place every Monday to Friday. Or even Sunday.

Yelp
Cute, hip breakfast / lunch spot about 30 min walk from the cathedral in downtown. Friendly staff and a good mix of people. There's outdoor space as well as indoor and an adorable courtyard out back with herbs growing in pots along the path. Definitely recommended as a local spot to eat!

Yelp
Excellent food! I ordered 2 plates just for myself! Food is delicious and health concious! Excellent brunch venue!

Yelp
Sorry had to downgrade the rating because the smoked salon Benedict was just way too salty. The service is ok and the place is really nice. Really wanted to give it a 4 star but then crazy saltiness of the smoked salmon was too much.

Yelp
Tasty and beautifully presented brunch. Well worth the visit for the fresh take on beef hash alone!

Yelp
Used my Yelp community to check out a place to eat after visiting the Ferry St Antique shops. Thanks to you all who previously reviewed Hello Sunday. Lunch was just what I wanted and even my mother-in-law was happily taken care of which her sweet choice of crumpets with berries and coconut yoghurt. My salad was excellent and the Japanese pancake chosen by my husband was delish!

Yelp
The food variety is perfect and the range of heathy dishes available - some with meat and many others without, was just great. The falafel was soft and flavourful and the coffee delicious. Cabinet food also looked good
