"One of eight Tasmanian distilleries specializing in single-malt whiskey, Hellyers Road is Burnie’s local drop, and the top-selling whiskey in Australia . In addition to the Scottish-style stuff, Hellyers Road produces smooth vodka and warming whiskey cream. Travelers can purchase the full range of bottles at the Hellyers Road "cellar door," or tasting room, located adjacent to the distillery—consider booking a spirited 30-minute tour in advance—and the Distillery Café, which marinates relishes and rib eyesteaks in its original whiskey."

Lovely place with fantastic food! The best roasted potatoes in all of Tasmania. Believe me, you have to try it! And the coconut lime cheesecake was heavenly. The staff were so kind and made our visit a wonderful time. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

I visited here on another stop while cruising with Seven Seas. It was picturesque overlooking the mountains. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. If we had more time, we could have eaten a meal here as well. We bought 4 smaller bottles of their delicious whisky to take home. I truly recommend going here. You won't regret it.

Had a combined Valentine's Day lunch with friends visiting from Victoria. Gorgeous views, pleasant atmosphere and great food! They had a set menu for Valentine's Day, three courses including oyster entree! And of course the whiskies are good, and whisky cream liqueurs are to die for. The coffee "Irish cream" is my go-to favourite now!! 😋

One of a tourist attraction in Burnie is Hellyers whisky tasting distillery. I love the 3 cream whisky. The original won an international award. We tasted the whiskey and all taste different. I noticed the whisky brings out the cheese and nuts that came with it. The cream whisky taste good with the fudges. Fantastic view and experience. To think I am not a whisky drinker but whisky tasting was a great experience. We paid $25 each. The older whisky cost more of course.

Went for lunch at Hellyers Road Distillery Restaurant. Price a little on the higher end but serving is huge. Entree was fantastic! Mains were tasty. Polenta chips not crispy but still tasted good. Great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Customer service was excellent. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Super friendly staff, guiding us through the whisky tasting experience explaining the differences in aging and taste between the different whiskies. We had lunch as well and was super tasty. Thank you

Stopped in for lunch and decided to throw in a tasting while there. Just up the road from Burnie, it's a great venue for lunch with a view of the rolling green hills around it. You won't be disappointed with the food or whiskey. The food pics speak for themselves. I very much enjoyed their 12 year old whiskey and took a bottle home with me.

So good I came back the next day! I had the soup of the day for lunch both days and a cheeky dessert afterwards The first dessert was a poached spiced pear and was delicious 😋 I paired with 30ml of each of the 3 cream liquors, and then the following days, the dessert I had their caramello creme brulee. And I paired this with thei apple crumble cocktail which was to die for! The service was cheeky and delightful. Light banter the way it should be!

Yelp
My favourite thing about this place is how they change the menu to match the season, winter is my absolute favourite because of the pot pie! Best damn pot pie I have ever eaten. It's amazing that they use so much Tasmanian produce, it makes such a difference in taste. The tour itself is quiet short, but can guarantee you'll be drunk by the end.

Yelp
Have been visiting Tassie over the past week and took a trip up north to Hellyers. We only stopped here for about an hour so and did not have any food here. We did go on the tour at 10:30am, I think this runs daily (as we came on a Tuesday). The tour was about $17/18 and went for 45minutes. The guide went through the history of the distillery and the whisky making process in a good amount of detail. We also sampled two of the undiluted whiskies which are not available to the public. We were shown the distilling equipment and the barrel store. The guide also explained the history behind the barrels and let us in on facts about pricing. The products here are of a very reasonable price I think. The whisky has received good reviews and is about $80 for 750mL. I am not a whisky drinker, but will add what Thomas K thinks when he gets his bottle. Overall the venue is in a great setting and well worth a visit. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I would recommend to any yelpers and friends.

Yelp
Just came here while on an exploratory road trip with friends. Beautiful setting with great views. Didn't have time for a meal so can't comment on their food. We did the guided tour that was good value for money. Told the story of the place. Shown the process of the whiskey and where it is created and stored. Tasted the two main whiskeys they produce. I found the whiskey too strong for me in flavour and alcohol percentage. Would be a nice place to visit for food in a group.

Yelp
I was part of a tour off a cruise ship. I have problems standing for long periods so had to give up before the tasting. To taste you have to tour. A friend said the whiskey was good. I will never know.
