If men's shoes can be beautiful then these fit the bill!! Great quality and my husband's new favorites! They were so friendly and helpful in finding just the right pairs. Will definitely be back!

Google
Ideal men’s store: finely crafted goods and a staff that can give you the details on how each piece is made. Also appreciated their advice on the neighborhood and how to navigate Austin at large. Guys who really care about what they produce.

I purchased my first pair of Helm Boots online with some hesitancy since I don't normally purchase online without trying the boot/shoe on. I received my boots only to discover they were a half size too large. I immediately wanted to exchange them for a size smaller and I was impressed by the return process. I received my replacement boots, immediately tried them on and was impressed, by the fit and feel. The following day I wore them for the entire day, my feet were happy. These boots are very comfortable and immediately began to break in, molding to my feet, no foot fatigue. These boots are "F**king awesome. I will be getting another pair soon.... Great quality and American made.....

Google
I love their shoes and have owned multiple pairs, they have great quality and comfort for the price. But I have traveled to Austin twice now and stopped by this shop both times only to see this during shop hours. 😞

I ordered my first pair of Helm shoes in November. They would get five stars for looks and quality construction. But the reason for the one star is because they won't break in. I've been wearing them two or three times a week (all day at work) for four months now and they still feel like they're made out of razor blades. I understand breaking in new shoes and expect it from quality footwear. But who has more than four months just to be able to wear a new pair of shoes and not be in pain??? I don't. I w anted them for a conference in May. But I can't use them as planned.

Helm's shoes are simply beautiful and the price seems reasonable for the quality - I just wish they made women's shoes, so I could be a customer!

Google
They had multiple styles that I liked. Being a small, Austin local shop, that really impressed me. One of the employees, Jillian pulled out all the different styles with different sizes so I got the perfect fit. She really cared about the company and made me excited to rep the Helm brand. I stopped by a couple days later to pick up a shirt and socks, another employee Liz was also super helpful and friendly. I couldn't be happier with my experience and purchase. Update 10/29: I've already replaced both laces after about a month and half of almost daily use, the fray very easily. They give you extra laces but kinda disappointed. I bought the Hollis model. The boots themselves have been amazing!

Helm is quickly becoming my favorite brand, happened to be in Austin this past week and stopped in the store to find two super delightful and helpful employees. I bought a pair of xanders and they are so comfortable and the staff was so helpful with measuring my foot to inspiring new styles for me to try and even reminded me to utilize my helm loyalty points. 10/10 would recommend Helm and I make sure I am one of those people.

Yelp
I ordered two pairs of shoes for my boyfriend as Christmas presents: The Zind (Natural) and Bradley (Brown). He liked them very much. Since it's a local business, headquartered in Austin, I received the order shipment in just two days after purchasing online! I was a bit worried the shoe size wouldn't fit, but they fit perfectly! Those .5 sizes are useful. Helm makes stylish looking footwear with high quality leather made in the US and Brazil. Both pairs said they were made in Brazil, which is an automatic plus for me. The soles have unique designs made to last for a long time. It takes a bit to break them in, but they are comfortable for daily wear. It's great for both casual jeans or professional suit attires! Wish they made footwear for women. Names of their shoes are explained in the descriptions. The boots and shoes are designed in Austin, Texas. Remember to support local business!

Yelp
This location appears to be closed. I've gone both of the last two Saturdays during the indicated business hours and both times there were curtains closing off the windows all the way around the store front, and a sign on the door saying it was closed. The phone number goes straight to an anonymous voice mail.

Yelp
Do not buy a belt from this company. The first set I bought many years ago was great. I wore them daily for around three years until they started to look a little too worn. I bought a new set and within a couple of months, the two layers of leather separated in several spots. About a year later I bought one more, hoping the last ones were just a one-time manufacturing fluke. It wasn't. The new one fell apart within a couple of weeks. I can't review their boots because they don't make them in my size, but if the belt quality is any indication...find a different small business to support. My 2 star review about it also never appeared on their website at all, so on top of selling poor quality goods, their ethics are questionable.

Yelp
Well I had picked up my first and last pair of helm boots !! Right after I started to wear the break on vamp was bad leather ! The heal top is vary thin and after wearing the boots not much the heal stop is falling apart and now I have heal slip and the workmanship is the worst boots that I own !! Thursday boots co make a better boot I will never buy a second pair Keep your money and invest in Grant Stones

Yelp
Probably the worst representation I have seen to date. Color Teak is so far from what you experience in reality it's like they didn't follow a color chart. So sad. As I looked forward to my teak colored shoes which looks more like British tan. Now their customer support is superb, but not good enough to try to change one's mind of the bait and switch you get with this color problem they have. Just way way way off.

Yelp
Called in to check on current inventory. To my surprise, Joshua, the owner, answered the phone. He needed to check with their supplier and told me he'd give me a call back. Within five minutes, I get a call and an answer. I asked why he was answering phones. He told me there were some employees out to illness, but he loved the opportunity to get back into the day-to-day operations. Now, they make a world-class product. But there are other world-class brands whose owners wouldn't be anywhere near a customer service line, let alone call you back over a silly inventory question. You want to give your money to a company like this. I'm a Helm customer for life.

Yelp
I want to support local, but the craftsmanship of these boots just doesn't hold up to the price of a USA made product! In under a year, I "burned" through two pairs of Helm boots and three resoles just to keep them going. Literally, holes through the soles and heels ground down and falling off. (What in the world?! Did I just climb a mountain in them or something?!!) And these boots are not cheap! I brought this to the attention of the company several times, but everyone seems to think this is normal. I eventually had to switch back to Red Wings. My previous pair of Red Wings lasted two years of daily wear without a resole, and the boot itself fell apart before the soles did! All this to say, while Helm has excellent customer service (4 stars) these are more fancy office job fashion boots than they are for the lifestyles they are advertised for. I'm not a lumberjack, but I do walk around a bit every day. Not miles on rough terrain or anything, but I do walk around slightly more than a person in a cubicle. The stitching and soles just can't handle daily wear of simply walking around, let alone anything more rigorous. I really hope they can fix this issue for future consumers. I've talked to others and to my surprise, I'm not the only one facing this issue. I gave it two tries but after $100+ a resole several times a year, it just isn't for someone like me.

Yelp
I'm a noob to the whole HELM thing. I first saw them when a friend posted a pic on Instagram. Instantly I went down a rabbit whole searching for HELM pics. Bought a pair same weekend. The Good - priced right considering the quality; locally owned; will prob age nicely; good, personable service at store; details galore about these folks. The Bad - they run a little narrow; some what of a hard walk, not much padding. Regarding the bad, I realized the fit was tight after i walked around for a day. Quick fix..,took them to Shoe Hospital and had them stretch the leather ($10). Now they fit perfect. Also inserted a pair of dr schoals to cushion the ride. Problem fixed. Looking forward to more HELMs in the future. Keep up the good work!

Yelp
HELM have two great things going for them. 1. Their product, in terms of style, craftsmanship, and durability (granted I'm yet to wear my Kiffens for long, but I know they last well) is second to none. Many companies might look to make one style and stick with that. HELM offers a diversity of well made boots. They quickly become your go-to pair and will become my go-to company for quality footwear. 2. Their customer service experience was by far the most easy and efficient I have ever experienced with any retail company. I ordered two sizes, tried them on at my place, sent photos, asked for opinions on styles and fit, and in total probably sent around 20+ emails with their customer service reps before deciding on the ones to keep. They were always quick to get back to me with helpful, detailed information, and made the entire process of purchasing, what is an investment, incredibly simple. Special shout out goes to Amelia who sent me insoles (for free) when I was breaking in the boots and Jackie, who was an absolute pleasure to meet in person and discuss all things boots and travel and mustaches. This kind of company will always convince me to buy local. And buy often.

Yelp
You get what you pay for. The boots are spendy but they are absolutely beautiful and top quality.

Yelp
I know own 3 different pair of boots. The customer service is great and they always share knowledge about their boots. Social media is also a great tool in their belt that they use. Found an awesome pair at the warehouse!

Yelp
I'm now the proud owner of 2 pairs of HELM Boots, and I fear this may the beginning of an addiction. I got my first pair when they were still in their old location wayyyyyy down on Cesar Chavez. I stopped by the shop at the suggestion of a friend and was quickly convinced I needed some. The place seemed really authentic and everyone that worked there was super nice. The second I bought at their new location right on the other side of 35 on East 6th. Both places were cool, but the new joint has a number of other products that compliment the HELM look. As far as the boots, no other designer shoes I've owned have caught as many eyes or started as many conversations as my HELMS (particularly in Austin). People always seem to spot the white stripe on the bottom (a HELM signature, I think), and I've made a number of Rainy Street friends just because of the conversation they start. I, of course, love how they look as well. I'd recommend running down to the shop and checking some out for sure.

Yelp
I bought a pair of Helm boots nearly 4 months ago from a shop on South Congress. The boots seem to be holding up fairly well and look good. My only complaint is the fact that the boots squeak with every step. I spoke with Helm and although they were friendly, their response was that it "definitely was not a defect" but if it bothered me I could take the boots to a boot repair shop and have it fixed cheaply, or I could simply wait for it to go away. While I appreciate their friendliness and do think the boots look good, when you pay over $400 for a pair of boots they shouldn't start squeaking after 1 week of wear, but if that does happen the company should offer to repair it.

Yelp
If you're into locally owned, American made boots that will last a lifetime, and meticulously curated handcrafted goods, pay Helm a visit, eh? My Helm boots are aging beautifully much like Helm's sexy owner Joshua Bingaman. Pop by their shop for some sexy times!

Yelp
Wow! Joshua and his staff are amazing. These are some of the most unique and stylish shoes on the market. If you haven't been by, check them out! It's a great boutique store with a wide selection of styles and sizes. If you want shows that are unique, comfortable, functional, and all-around awesome, HELM is the place.

Yelp
I own several pair of Helm Boots and absolutely love them. I bought my first pair in 2012 and they have worn in really well. I like them more now than the day I got them (which is saying a lot, because I was pretty thrilled). These American handmade boots are equal parts style and fortitude, they look fantastic and get the job done. Joshua, the owner, is a really great guy who knows his stuff and really cares for his customers. He has a phenomenal staff and continues to release quality boot after quality boot. I am a Helm fan for life. Thanks so much guys and keep them coming!
