On the Grid : Helmhaus

"The Helmhaus is situated right down at the picturesque river Limmat. It dedicates itself to the contemporary, Swiss art scene. A special focus is put on the vivid local art scene with its progressive projects ranging from artists such as Alex Sadkowsky (pic 2) to Marc-Antoine Fehr (pic 4 & 5). Artist talks give firsthand insights to the current exhibition and connect artists with visitors." - Plasmadesign Studio

Adjacent/ river side of this building we saw a pair of Great Crested Grebes doing what appeared to be a mating ritual in the river. So romantic (for them). Also saw swans. And a couple ill advised humans swimming in the river in February. All in all, an interesting spot along the river.

It's a wonderful place for antic lover. Either take a walk from Central or 4 number tram from Central. But I suggest take a walk to enjoy real beauty of Zurich city and preferable time is, anytime. Also sit near Zurich lake which is very clean and enjoy watching Swans and also old buildings.

Contemporary , strange, sometimes very weird art... I personally like this free of charge art gallery a lot. Besides the coolest exhibitions you can enjoy the center location and the view from the gallery’s windows.

Great views of the Fraumünster. Across the street and up the stairs, just next to the Grossmünsterplatz, there is a great view for sunsets. Totally recommend it for photo locations

Beautiful museum for temporary, modern art exhibitions in a the heart of Zürich. It's worth a visit both because of the collection, which regularly changes, displaying (mostly) local and Swiss creators, and because of the symbolic building that hosts them - and the views of the riverside of town from it. Access is (as far as I know) always free, and the visit won't take too long (10-30 min, depending on your own pace). I would recommend it if you live there or stay for long. I would not argue it is a must-visit part of the town, though.

Really enjoyed this museum, so engaging and current artists are there to talk about the work! Would definitely like to visit again when I'm back in Zurich!

Google
one of the few places to enjoy art and small exhibits in the center of the city, the location changes exhibits in regular basis, including new and settled artist, on the basis of artistic or social views

The art exhibition here was awesome, and free. Great location to view the city too.

Yelp
The most unfriendly "museum" staff I have ever encountered. We went for a photography exhibition. The space is rather large and stark white, perfect for a photography exhibition. There were literally four other individuals viewing the exhibition so it was not crowded. We were immediately accosted by a gruff female employee who demanded that one of us stay outside of the exhibition space with our toddler who was sleeping in her stroller. There were no signs stating that toddlers or strollers werent allowed. As we have lived here long enough to know how to deal with the rude and pushy swiss german we firmly told her "NO!" And continued on our way. She evil eyed us as we left but didn't dare try stating anything else. I won't go back.
