If you have the time, I highly recommend this restaurant.
We stopped by for dinner and had a marvelous meal. We started with the beef carpaccio (very nicely done) and the Salzburg Teller, a sampling of bundner fleisch, Tyrolean bacon and smoked ham (they were so tasty there was almost a fight over these).
Moving on to the mains, I had the gluten free wiener schnitzel - that's right, gluten free, and it was awesome! My wife had the trout - wonderful flavor, cooked perfectly. There was also the mushroom schnitzel (a little old school and it is soooo good), the lamb shank (tender, not stringy, braised in a killer red wine sauce), and the steak and prawns (quality beef and large, plump shrimp).
For dessert, there was the fantastic chocolate soufflé - wow did that disappear quickly!
The wine list is small but with some reasonable choices.
The only reason this place gets a four star instead of a five is the wait. The kitchen is small, and everything is made from scratch, which means you can be in for a long, long wait, like more than an hour an a half for the main courses. The food is awesome, but you better not be in a hurry. Bring a book or some good conversation and things will work out.
