I don’t even know where to begin, we’ve just arrived home from our trip, and this lodge is one of the most incredibly special places we’ve ever stayed.
The Nina tents are beautifully decorated and offer stunning views across the conservancy. Within just five minutes of sitting on our patio, we saw elephants wandering by - an unforgettable welcome.
Every member of staff was exceptional. Our guides, Ben (Bernard) and Sidney, were incredibly knowledgeable and seemed able to find everything we hoped to see. They were warm, friendly, and made each game drive a joy, sharing fascinating stories from their Maasai culture.
The food was spectacular, it felt like enjoying gourmet dining in the middle of the wilderness. The wait staff were attentive, warm, and genuinely lovely.
What truly sets this lodge apart are the thoughtful little touches: hot drinks delivered as a wake-up call, hot water bottles placed in the bed at turn-down, and countless other details that made our stay feel so personal and special.
As part of our trip, we did a hot air balloon safari, which required a day excursion into the main reserve. While we loved the balloon experience, it confirmed that choosing Ol Seki in the private Naboisho Conservancy was absolutely the right decision. The main reserve felt crowded, with vehicles jostling for position, we even saw tourists arguing at a leopard sighting, and the enclosed vehicles used there were far less comfortable. In contrast, Hemingways’ open-sided vehicles and the exclusivity of the conservancy made every drive feel more enjoyable, intimate, and respectful to the wildlife.
For all of these reasons, I wouldn’t hesitate to return or to recommend this incredible lodge to anyone. A special thank-you to Debbie for being such a welcoming and attentive host.
