Hemingways Ol Seki Mara Camp (Nairobi, Kenya) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In a private corner of Naboisho Conservancy, Hemingways Ol Seki offers a rare kind of access to the Mara - no crowds, no convoys, just wide skies and tailored days. Its nine twelve-sided tents are spaced for privacy, with timber floors, canvas walls, and wide verandas that open to breathtaking views. Interiors pay tribute to classic safari style with leather armchairs, linen drapes, and handwoven rugs. Game drives are unhurried, the pace is yours to set, and no two days look the same. Not the Mara most people see: low on noise, high on everything else." - Tablet Hotels

Luxury and Hospitality at Naboisho Our stay at Hemingways Ol Seki Mara Camp was nothing short of perfection. From the moment we arrived, Debbie welcomed us with such warmth and friendliness that we felt at home immediately. The entire camp is a beautiful blend of luxury and comfort, and the staff is genuinely committed to excellence. Under William’s expert leadership, the service was seamless. Mooi, Cass, and Josef were incredibly attentive, ensuring every need was met before we even had to ask. They truly "accomplished the mission" of making us feel pampered and well-cared for. However, our most heartfelt appreciation goes to Isaac, our guide. His knowledge and passion made our daily tours of the Naboisho Conservancy unforgettable. He didn't just show us wildlife; he gave us an incredible, immersive experience that we will cherish forever. If you are looking for a luxurious escape with a team that feels like family, this is it.

Our stay at Hemingways' Ol Seki Mara Camp was absolutely incredible. It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed with the most amazing staff. The Nina tents were luxurious, super clean, cozy, and private. It was really nice being able to sit outside alone on your balcony and relax after a game drive. Debbie and the rest of the staff were absolutely incredible. Everyone was so nice and accommodating and went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special (shout out to Mike who spoiled us rotten!). The meals were delicious and the coffee delivery every morning was such a wonderful touch. There is so much love among everyone who works at Ol Seki Mara. Michael was the most amazing game drive guide. He is SO KNOWLEDGABLE about the animals and he made every minute of each drive exhilarating. The thrill of the "hunt" for the animals! He also took us to his village one afternoon and we had the privilege of learning about their culture and ways of living. That was by far the most amazing experience of my entire life and I will cherish that day forever. Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough. It was such a special stay and a trip I will never forget.

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 day safari at the Ol Seki Hemingway Mara and we had the most wonderful time. Debbie the manager makes you feel so welcome. She's got a great team who will do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The room was spacious and beautiful. All suites have a big terrace with a great view. The food was delicious too. As for the game drives, we've been on a few safaris before and we've had the best sightings of lions, at one point we were surrounded by more than 30 lions, including big male and cubs. We saw lions every day. We were lucky as well to see one female leopard. She was very close to the car and relaxed around us. As it is a small lodge & conservancy, you never have too many cars around the animals so you always have a good view. We also saw many other animals such as antilopes, wildebeest (we saw a killing), elephants, buffalo, hippo including a baby, jackal and many others! We were absolutely delighted with our stay and back with beautiful memories! Thanks again to Debbie and her team!

We absolutely loved Ol Seki Hemingways Mara. We have such wonderful memories of this portion of our honeymoon. Debbie is a fantastic host and made us feel so welcome and understood.|The Nina tents are stunning. Beautiful bathrooms, very comfy beds, amazing views from the room. The hot water bottle in bed at night was a real touch for us! |The food is also very good. |The dining room can feel a bit dead at times, I would suggest putting some music on. |Shout out to Yucks who was a fabulous and fun waiter. The view from the dining room is stunning and we loved the morning breakfasts out on the terrace watching the giraffes wander by. The pool area is also fabulous but would recommend that the area is cleared up as often there were towels left on sunloungers for many hours after they had been used etc. |We also did a great bush walk with Sidney who was fabulous. |The wildlife here is just amazing. We saw so much and really want to come back already. |Thank you Debbie and team, you have a really special spot here!

I don’t even know where to begin, we’ve just arrived home from our trip, and this lodge is one of the most incredibly special places we’ve ever stayed. The Nina tents are beautifully decorated and offer stunning views across the conservancy. Within just five minutes of sitting on our patio, we saw elephants wandering by - an unforgettable welcome. Every member of staff was exceptional. Our guides, Ben (Bernard) and Sidney, were incredibly knowledgeable and seemed able to find everything we hoped to see. They were warm, friendly, and made each game drive a joy, sharing fascinating stories from their Maasai culture. The food was spectacular, it felt like enjoying gourmet dining in the middle of the wilderness. The wait staff were attentive, warm, and genuinely lovely. What truly sets this lodge apart are the thoughtful little touches: hot drinks delivered as a wake-up call, hot water bottles placed in the bed at turn-down, and countless other details that made our stay feel so personal and special. As part of our trip, we did a hot air balloon safari, which required a day excursion into the main reserve. While we loved the balloon experience, it confirmed that choosing Ol Seki in the private Naboisho Conservancy was absolutely the right decision. The main reserve felt crowded, with vehicles jostling for position, we even saw tourists arguing at a leopard sighting, and the enclosed vehicles used there were far less comfortable. In contrast, Hemingways’ open-sided vehicles and the exclusivity of the conservancy made every drive feel more enjoyable, intimate, and respectful to the wildlife. For all of these reasons, I wouldn’t hesitate to return or to recommend this incredible lodge to anyone. A special thank-you to Debbie for being such a welcoming and attentive host.

We had the most magical time at Ol Seki Hemingways! I don’t think I’ve ever written a review for somewhere but absolutely had to because of how special this stay was. We went for four nights during our Honeymoon, and could not believe how magical of a time we had. The rooms were wonderful, spacious and had incredible views overlooking the conservation. Patrick, our guide was incredible!!! So knowledgeable on all things Masai Mara, incredibly kind and funny. We loved our special surprise cocktails from Mike, and the entire staff was so wonderful. Debbie, was the most welcoming host and truly got to know all her guests. Highly recommend this stay. The conservation itself is perfect, and gives you up close and personal access to all the animals without it feeling too crowded. We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool in between game drives and a fabulous bush breakfast and dinner. Don’t skip out on the village visit either!

just spent 4 incredible days at Ol Seki Mara. Where do I start? 5 star food & service without the attitude, Debbie, Michael and team made sure we felt at home without missing a beat. It was almost as if they were reading our minds. Our Guide, Isaac was beyond our expectations. every morning he would start with his "so what do we want to see today?" and he always over delivered. We saw it all! we also did the ballon ride over the Mara, a morning bush walk followed by a bush breakfast and a bush dinner. I would recommend them all! even my wife who was leery at first absolutely enjoyed these extras. We had read some comments recommending against bush walks but the team at Ol seki made sure everything was safe and fun. We were a family of 5 adults and I would return in a heart beat. By hte same token, I think 4 days is perfect. You have time to see everything and do the balloon ride in the Mara. This takes 1.5hrs to get to but worth every minute.

Hemmingways Ol Seki was one of the most exhilarating stays we've had! A phenomenal experience on game drives, whilst the room, the pool, the food and the setting was simply stunning. We saw some truly amazing things on our game drives - including tracking a buffalo kill and an up close elephant encounter. Wow. The staff really blew us away - from playing soccer with the camp staff, to the local village visit and of course the real MVP Patrick! Patrick was an extrordinary guide, not only did he live and breath the Mara (it showed in his incredible knowledge of the area and animals) but he has a fantastic sense of humour. The long game drives were so much fun with Patrick! We also met some great people staying at the camp. We came not knowing what to expect and left knowing we will return! Cannot recommend this wonderful camp and its staff highly enough!
