This Underrated European City Has One of the Largest Old Towns, a Futuristic Complex, and 12 Miles of Beaches

"A distinctive, eye-shaped building featuring a convex exterior and a concave screen inside that serves as a 3-D theater; it was the first element of the larger complex to open and offers immersive audiovisual presentations." - Rachel Chang Rachel Chang Rachel Chang is a travel and pop culture journalist who contributes to Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Lonely Planet, and more. Great experience but the audio headsets are extremely messy. They are WAY too loud - you'll hear the film's voice, your own headset AND everyone else's around you! They need to change this - it hinders the experience. The structure is worth seeing.

Hemisfèric in Valencia is an awe-inspiring venue that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into the future of cinema. We watched Planet Oceans, and while the visuals were stunning and the storytelling deeply immersive, a few things are worth noting for the best experience. Sitting too close to the front can make some wide-angle scenes feel a bit dizzying — even slightly cross-eyed — so aim for middle rows where the dome perspective really shines. The English voiceover headset works fine, but the Spanish narration from the main speakers can overlap at times, making it tricky to focus on the translation. Arrive early, grab a centered seat, and you’ll get the full magic of this incredible space without distraction. Probably would not return again but its a good activity if you're around the area and can't think of anything else to do.

The good- Omnimax presentation was spotless. No dust and no scratches! Light output excellent. The bad: dome screen ruined by 4 missing panels on the left and right side. The aerials didn’t quite have the same effect. Audio was a bit quiet- only heard front speakers.

Superb building and unusual architecture pleasing to the eye. The event centre and also the 3D Cinemas are both of unique design with great ambience.

WASTE OF MONEY - At least for movie about Amazone. First start with the positive. It's a beautiful architectural building. Worth of visiting. (Because of that still 2 stars) Now for the rest. The function as movie theatre Firstly you get 70's model earphones. Very heavy, uncomfortable and bad sound quality. I took them of after 5 min. The movie about the Amazon was absolutely not suited for 3D/IMAX. Picture was stretched, bended and very low resolution. Like you're watching 720p on a 4K screen. Also the image was way out of focus and not sharp. The movie itself had a bad script with the worse acting. Also the movie was originally in English but dubbed in Spanish. No issue if they had isolated the voice stream and moved it to the headset. But the Spanish was coming from the speakers and the English on the headset was completely overshadowed and impossible to follow. Like someone is speaking Spanish in one and English in the other ear. So tip for the theatre. 1. Invest on modern over the ear lightweight headsets 2. Isolate the voice stream from the test of the sound and play it solely on the headset, or don't play the sound in the theatre at all and only play on the headset. 3. Only play movies that are suited for 3D/IMAX. Perhaps other movies are better and also when you're Spanish and you don't need the headset, it's better, but I only had this time to base my experience upon.

The idea of the cinema is really futuristic but the armosphere was not quite it. It was full of students who were acting really inappropriate and i think there should be security that guides them. The teens behind us wouldn’t stop laughing and moving which made it impossible to follow the idea of the movie. Also a tip: don’t sit in the front seats because your neck hurts because of trying to look up. Sit in the back seats and it would probably be more comfortable so go half an hour before the show starts ao you have enough time to reserve seats. Overall the experience was really bad for us and with the right changes it could become a magical attraction. Because instead of having a really good time, I was annoyed by the people behind us and actually in the whole cinema that were speaking loudly to each other and laughing.

Georgous architecture, we went to a viewing called 'Amazon Adventure', a short film based on the true story of the discovery of Batsian Mimicry and it's contribution to Darwin's The Origin of Species. The hall was very beautiful both inside and out, with reasonable tickets prices for the showings (and added bonus of aircon for some restbite from the heat). Definitely worth a visit!

Felt like a cheaper tourist trap honestly. The cinema quality is lower than most. It costs very little tho, so you can scrap it off you checklist for no much. We saw the auroras one and it was not much of a thing, although it was a nice way to learn. It was really fast to enter and not crowded.
