Henn na Hotel Kanazawa Korinbo

Great hotel. Location was perfect! The staff (the actual people, not the dinosaurs) were always available and very accomodating. They helped us store our luggage before checking in, even though the lockers and self storage were full. We also had some questions about lugagge delivery, and those were answered very patiently by the kind staff. As for the room: it was big enough, there were amenities available, and the temperature of the water in the bathroom/shower was great. The only thing that knocks the total score down a bit, was that the room wasn't very clean. At first glance, it seemed clean, but there was a yellow stain on the wall and places that were not in direct sight were a bit dirty. I have allergies and couldn't breathe well in the room; it was very very dusty. At first I thought there was an extra, lighter rug under the bed, but that turned out to be a layer of dust from at least a few months. Additionally, they crancked up the heat very high, which we could compensate with the airco and by opening the window, but the air was extremely dry, even with the humidifyer on. We both got quite a sore throat and I had trouble breathing. However, overall the hotel was good, especially the location and staff!

Came with a tour and stayed for a day. Can’t believe I actual stayed in this hotel that I’ve been seeing on the internet. Highlight is the robotic dinosaur and since It was Halloween, both dinosaurs were in witch costume. Room was pretty good. View wise, it was beside another building so I couldn’t see much. Toilet was interesting as I have not stayed in a hotel where the basin and the toilet are separate. Breakfast is a buffet and is kind of limited due to the small dining area but food was great. Location wise, since I came with a tour, I have no idea where I was so no comment 😅. Overall, it was amazing.

We basically chose this hotel because of the check in staff- we nicknamed them Sydney and George. Plus the location was very close to all the main tourist attractions. ||The good: |- The human staff were lovely and very helpful. |- There is a local onsen / bath house a 10 min way away (closed on Wednesdays).|- Clean and Tidy |- Cafe downstairs offering breakfast for a fee. |- Great location / close to most attractions. |- Lots of additional items you can borrow including shoe dryers and straighteners / curlers.|- They have lockers which are free to use for luggage pre and post check in / checkout. ||Needs improvement: |- We stayed at a couple of other hotels in the chain and they had more amenities that this one did not have. The other locations offered facial cleansing oil, moisturisers and a vacuum seal machine. ||Being honest I would stay again because the location was very good and you could walk to the majority of the main locations. The main geisha are was a 30 min walk away or a 15/20 min bus journey.

I chose this hotel because it is very close to Kanazawa Marathon starting point. The price during the event was not cheap. It is located in Karimbo area, 1.5km from Kanazawa station. It is also close to Kanazawa Castle, 2km from old town. Very convenient. Check in process was funny as the hotel uses unmanned system. It can be easy or it can be frustrating. My room has no desk but a small sitting table. Check out process was just simply dropping key cards to the kiosk and done.

Great hotel, superb location, I wish we could stay longer! Our room was cozy and very clean, and not loud at all. Shops, restaurants, Kanazawa castle and the samurai district are all around and the geisha district is only few stops away with a bit.

On check in we were giving 2 separate beds, after using google translate an alternative room was offered which was much more Spacious. Apart from calling very few staff around. Dinosaurs on check in were a good initial quirk but always prefer to speak to a person. Rooms clean and tidy. Good location walkable to lots of shopping and food options. Microwave in reception. Has washing machine and drier on site. Do offer a buffet breakfast but we didn’t have it so can’t comment. All essentials- like shampoo/ conditioners, razors, washcloths etc offered.

Great location and comfy rooms. The dinosaur robots add fleur of light hearted weirdness.

Value for money is hard to beat here. The rooms are comfortable, functional and have a sense of place, with plenty of unmistakably Japanese touches. The location is so-so: on the one hand, you can reach practically all of Kanazawa's highlights on foot, on the other sometimes the distance is 30+ minutes away in the heat - such as the train station. The breakfast selection is extensive, but the restaurant is simply far too small for a hotel this size. The team does a superhuman job to minimise wait times and maintain hygiene, but breakfast here is nevertheless quite a loud and chaotic start to the day.
