Henn na Hotel Kyoto Hachijoguchi Ekimae

Great value, fine facilities, great location and quirky self-service counter manned by dinosaurs! The counter is manned by 2 dinosaurs, check-in/out is smooth but do it yourself (when everything works) Rooms are comfortable, but a bit lacking when it comes to sound proofing (worst between neighbour-suits) you will be able to hear the trains come and go. As is common for Japanese beds, mattresses are a bit on the hard side, so take note if this is a problem for you. We didn't have much contact with staff, but those we did, were quite helpful, but rather hasty. The place is well suited for shorter stays, I'd say 2 - 5 nights is optimal. Location almost couldn't be any better, 1 crossing from Kyoto station (5 min), and suited just south of the tracks, you are not bothered by the city night life. I'd use Hen Na hotel again for a shorter stay.

The check-in system had a problem retrieving my booking but a staff came out to help me right away.The room is not big but it was cleverly designed to allow some flexibility in working with a big luggage. The coat hanger rack by the door was a smart touch. Also I appreciate they supplied a bath loofa towel and toothbrush at the lobby (for free). Good amount of USB outlets for charging our devices.Easy to reach from Kyoto station and close to Toyota rent a car shop if you need to pick up your car.The dinosaurs were cute!!

Stay 5 nights at this hotel and loved every minute. The room was spacious clean and quiet. The location was excellent as it was so close to station, transport and dining. The restaurant downstairs was great. Laundry facilities the best we have seen and the staff were efficient. Will definitely stay here again as it was the best hotel out of the six we stayed in during this holiday

Got shock by the reception, even though already knew there are dinosaurs. Self check in process is quite simple but kind of feeling insecure😆. The amenities are very basic. The room is consider spacious than other hotel. I like their individual shower room which separated from toilet and basin. The pillow is too flat and uncomfortable. I choose this hotel is because near to Avanti, where we can took the bus to Kansai airport without taking the train.

Excellent hotel. Loved the dinosaur robots dressed up for Halloween. Quiet, clean, spacious and very well located. Reduced by one star because staff will not help when needed to book bus tickets or reserve dinner spots - they said they cannot use the hotel phone to assist, quite inconvenient

This hotel is very well designed and managed, from the fun self-check in to self served luggage locker to the conveniences in room. The room is in comfortable size comparing with typical Japanese mid-level hotels. Location is great, steps away from Kyoto Station.

At first when we arrived at the hotel to a room on the fifth floor there was a loud noise in the corridor. After that they agreed to move us to a room on the third floor and it was excellent except for a bad smell in the shower, we called the staff again. They cleaned the shower and since then it was just great! Comfortable beds, cleaning services, quiet and close to the train.

Hotel is located nearby train station with few minutes walk. The idea of using dinosaurs as reception is brilliant and still efficiency upon check-in & check-out. Room & bathroom are spacious enough. Self-luggage-storage also provide an convenience to handle and manage. Henn na hotel would be one among my favorites hotel's list to stay.
