Henn na Hotel Kyoto Hachijoguchi Ekimae

The dinosaurs are hilarious! Such a fun hotel to book, we booked a regular double bed room and it exceeded my expectations for the price! It was very spacious, with a seperate toilet and shower room, along with another area with a sink and mirror. The bedroom had lots of space along with a desk and tv! It was very close to Kyoto Station and not far from all the main shops. They even have a vacuum seal machine for luggage down in the main lobby. We only stayed for one night, wish we could have stayed longer!!! If we ever come back to Kyoto, we will definitely be staying here again!

Clean, neat and spacious room, 5-min walk from Kyoto station. The check in process was fully automatic and smooth - handled by these cute dinosaurs in Halloween costumes greeting you in every possible language. Don’t forget to pick up amenities at the lobby. Deducting one star only because the bed was not to our liking, a little bit too hard for us. Generally good value for money!

Close to Kyoto station. Room is impeccably clean. Spacious and well-lit, it features large windows that allow natural light to flood the room, enhancing its airy and inviting atmosphere. The modern furnishings are thoughtfully arranged, offering ample space to move around freely. A plush bed with crisp, white bedding promises restful sleep, while the sleek bathroom boasts gleaming fixtures, fluffy towels, and high-quality toiletries. Every detail contributes to a serene and comfortable stay, recommended👍

Excellent location near Kyoto Station, 7eleven around the corner, nice bar at floor door. Rooms are clean just the beds aren't too comfy. But to stay it's great plus you have dinosaurs at the reception

Room was quite small but adequate and very clean, nothing damaged or worse for wear. The bed wasn't great. Thin mattress and awful pillows. One like a rock, the other (half beads, half foam I think) was just a lumpy lump. |Breakfast selection is tiny but there's enough for a decent breakfast. |Dinosaurs at reception hides the fact that there are staff in the office if you call them, who are very nice and helpful. But it does mean they won't let you check in a minute before 3pm.|The location is quite good close to the station

Who wouldn't like being served by dinosaurs? Had no problem checking in or out. Great location - 5 min walk from Kyoto station. Clean rooms, good size, quiet. Rooms could be bigger as large luggage can be a bit hard to open in the bedroom. But big enough not to feel claustrophobic.

The Hotel really close to Kyoto Station with easy walking distance. When we checked in, we were greeted by dinosaur robot and had to use a self check-in machine. Sounds cool, but unfortunately it didn’t work well for us. I had trouble scanning my passport and had to call the staff. The staff seemed rushed—explained quickly and left, even though I hadn’t finished the process. I ended up calling them three times because the machine kept failing and in the end they had to do a manual check-in. Definitely one of the more tiring check-in experiences I’ve had. I noticed other guests were also struggling with the machine. That said, the room itself was actually quite spacious and clean, especially compared to the usual standard Japanese hotel rooms. One nice bonus: they provided a foot massager in the room—such a treat after a long day of walking around Japan. The bathroom is also separated, which I personally really liked. So overall, the stay was decent, but the check-in experience needs improvement.

The hotel is all self-service only, though there's a staff whom will appear when the error message sounded too many times. The dinosaurs at the recep can be pretty intimidating, as me and the kids were kinda scared off by it. The best thing about the hotel, is the location of it. It is located centrally just opposite Kyoto station, where it is linked to everywhere. Even the tour bus station is just next to the hotel, 2mins walk away to Kyoto Avanti mall. Super convenient.- Breakfast is included as well, simple fare, sufficient for us to tide past breakfastI will definitely consider Henn Na Hotel Kyoto again.

Very clean hotel that is conveniently located right outside the Kyoto station. They gave us free water bottles everyday (depending on the number of people staying in your room). There are laundry rooms and they also offer laundry service that is not cheap but it is reasonably priced.
