On the Grid : Henrik Vibskov

"The Henrik Vibskov Boutique has been open since 2006 in Copenhagen. The Henrik Vibskov Boutique represents the iriscendent universes of Vibskov in content and form. The stores fuse Vibskov's collections and works with upcoming and renown designers and artists, elaborated to broaden our spectrum of fascination and inspiration. Stunning little boutique stocking both Vibskov and other great scandinavian designers. Pricey but unusual pieces, with the odd cheaper accessory and style magazines to buy." - WAAITT

Beautiful store with unique atmosphere representing work of Henrik Vibskov and other brands such as Comme des garcons, yohji yamamato, maison margiela etc. New space at Gl.Mont 14 with more space and bigger dressing rooms. Friendly staff and possibly best choice of designer goods in Cph.

complete henrik vibskov collection available, next to some other brands like margiela and comme de garcons. must visit if you’re into fashion and you can afford it. for a lower budget try the basement for some sale items

I honestly hate going into more ‘fancy’ clothing stores only to be looked down upon by the snooty staff members. Actually one of them was nice and the other was awful. She acted as though I was bothering her personal space if I asked for another size, as if I should just leave the store immediately. Why can’t the store manager hire more friendly welcoming staff? I ended up buying two things but I did NOT enjoy the experience being there, it was a much better experience down the road at Storm Clothing and Wood Wood.

I was looking forward to visiting the Henrik Vibskov boutique in Copenhagen from the UK where Vibskov is not represented. My experience was disappointing for three reasons: 1) The boutique has a very limited selection Vibskov designs. Although I traveled all the way to another country to visit this place, I was directed by boutique staff to online retailers for a wider selection of designs. I have no objection to online shopping, but at such high prices, with sometimes idiosyncratic pattern-cutting and Vibskov's increasingly larger cuts, you really need to try the clothes on before you buy them. Also, it's rather unfriendly customer service to tell someone face-to-face, "I'm not available now, visit me online." 2) The design identity and stock organisation of the Henriv Vibskov boutique in Copenhagen is weak. The clothes are squashed, creased, underlit and with no clear logic behind their display; lots of designers are mixed together randomly, and the lighting neither compliments the clothes, nor the customer trying things on. As a result, nothing stands out, detailing gets lost, and the prices seem to represent a more high-end boutique. The only exception was the sculptural top-quality Issey Miyake items in the store which were placed by the window with more space and plenty of light - yet compared to the Tokyo and London Miyake boutiques, the same sculptural designs seemed to be in a sorry state in Copenhagen. 3) Clumsy service/Fluff / Items missing from shopping bag. Among the items I tried on, a jumper left an excessive amount of white fluff all over my all-black shirt and trousers. So much so, that I looked as if I'd walked through a cotton field. The shop assistant was hardly apologetic and simply gave me one of those sticky rolls to remove all the fluff myself, including all over my back. This kept me busy in the only dressing room available in the store for 10 minutes with a line of people waiting for me outside. After purchasing several items for several thousand DK I requested for my shopping bag to be kept there for me to pick up after going for a quick bite. They were totally fine about this. Upon my return to the Henrik Vibskov store I was given a different (bigger) bag from the one they had originally prepared for me - no reason given - and after returning to my hotel (thankfully located almost next door) I realised that the new bag had things missing from it. I had to return to the boutique to request the rest of the stuff. Again, the staff were simply functional and minimally apologetic about the whole thing. If the fluff (see above) and this incident had happened in London, Tokyo or New York, the service would have been far more graceful and generous. All in all, visiting the Henrik Vibskov boutique in Copenhagen was a rather disappointing experience and not worth the visit. You are better off buying his things online... but then again, he keeps changing his sizes. Just make sure you eat more for his increasingly larger cuts to fit you better : )

Didn't visit with intent to purchase but to peruse the selection with my 13 year old son who was researching sneakers in Copenhagen. Saw a few interesting pieces in knit and an inflatable orange rubber jacket...

One of my favourite Danish designers! The store is tastefully designed, and the staff were nice and friendly.

When in Copenhagen, dress as the Danes - so this is a must stop. Pray that u find something on sale, cause otherwise its a skinstrippiing experience helpful and pleasant staff

Stunning boutique stocking both Vibskov and other ace Scandi designers like Peter Jensen. Pricey but unusual pieces, with the odd cheaper accessory and style magazines to buy.
