Five spots for breathtaking views of Osaka - SilverKris

"Perched atop a central Umeda shopping and entertainment mall, this bright red Ferris wheel is a 15-minute ride (500 yen) that carries gondolas more than 100m above street level. Each cabin holds up to four people and features a smartphone plug-in so riders can choose their own soundtrack—making for a quirky, party-like experience; afterwards you can explore the mall’s shops or visit the Gudetama Cafe on the seventh floor." - SilverKris

Visited this attraction with the Osaka amazing pass. It was a great way to view the city. This Ferris wheel has a Bluetooth speaker so you can listen to some tunes during your ride. I believe it was about 15 minutes to ride, which is a good amount of time to get some photos of the location, chill out to some tunes and soak in the beauty of Osaka.

Went here on a weekday noon. No line, bought ticket at the machine in less than 5 mins & we enjoyed the stunning view of Osaka. Bear in mind they only accept cash. I would def recommend going here during the day + clear skies combo. You’ll get the nicest view of Osaka with no crowd.

An unforgettable experience! The HEP Five Ferris Wheel offers stunning panoramic views of Osaka, especially at night when the city lights up. The ride is smooth and relaxing, and the air-conditioned gondolas make it comfortable even on warmer days. Located right in the heart of the city, it’s super convenient to access and a perfect break from shopping or sightseeing. Highly recommend it for couples, families, or anyone wanting a unique perspective of Osaka!

We visited the HEP Five Ferris Wheel and it wasn’t crowded at all. After redeeming the Osaka E-Pass, we could board the gondola within a minute - super fast and hassle-free! The ride was very smooth and stable, even though it was high up. The gondola didn’t shake at all, even with the wind. We felt safe the whole time. The view of Osaka city from the top was beautiful. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. A great experience overall - definitely worth it with the Osaka E-Pass!

Google
Visited with Osaka Amazing Pass! Chill, slow-paced ride with beautiful city views. I went in the evening, and it was cool to see the neon lights, though the daytime view may have been more appealing. I appreciated that there was a window decal that helps you identify the major sights. We were able to get a glimpse of Osaka castle! Not sure if that was only possible due to darkness and illumination of the castle in the distance.

The location was easy to find. There was no wait time even though it is a Sunday. We used the Osaka amazing pass which I would recommend for those who are coming to Osaka for the 1st time.

Went here with Osaka Amazing Pass, it’s not crowded at all when I went so we could get on the ferris wheel very quickly. It’s a nice break from so much walking and I can enjoy Osaka skyline from above. Worth going if you have the time ☺️

Yelp
Hep Five Ferris Wheel / Umeda (Osaka) -- I guess Jamie W. and I are naturally drawn to Ferris wheels because we rode three different ones on our most recent trip to Japan. Hep Five is a bustling shopping complex targeted mostly to trend-conscious teens, so we had zero interest in browsing or dining here. Jamie W. and I blitzed our way to the 7th floor where the ride entrance was. It's about 350 feet high, and the red pods were private. Admission was ¥600, and the ride took around fifteen minutes to complete a revolution. Given we were in the heart of the Osaka Umeda area, views were amazing. RELATED - Exploring Japan? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2qrUBZo

Yelp
This is a popular spot in Osaka. I didn't buy tickets in advance, it was pretty easy to buy on the spot. There was a wrapping line to get on the ride after i bought the ticket, but it moved fairly fast. The carts are fine, but I didn't like the guy group idols plastered in there. Other than that, my husband and I sat comfortably. The views were cool. I'd say if you love Ferris wheels, go for it. I felt it was ok, I wouldn't cry if I missed it.

Yelp
. When in Osaka , Hep 5 Ferris Wheel should be on your todo list. If you have walked past the Umeda Twin Tower North building , you are well on your way to the mall that hosts the wheel. Take the elevator to the 7th floor ( as soon as you get off the elevator there happens to be a tunnel on the left that has the wheel sign on the top . Please don't enter that tunnel and instead keep going straight past Starbucks into the tickets area) and past Starbucks you would see the tickets purchase area. Once done with the ticket purchase ( ¥600 per person) you would get in the line and wait your turn to get into the pod on the wheel. Once inside, you can connect to the Bluetooth speaker onboard and jam your music while going up above in the sky on the wheel. From there on enjoy the ride !! Would recommend it even if you have a fear of heights just like me!!!

Yelp
Used the Amazing Osaka pass to get a free ride. You need to go to the 7th floor to go on this ride. It was very smooth and in an enclosed air-conditioned gondola. Great views of Osaka.

Yelp
Ferris wheel is Ferris wheel. Nothing special. I believe the view would be much better at night or in snowy days. Didn't get to excited to look at the view in a hot summer day.

Yelp
A beautiful red big eye/Ferris wheel located on the 7th floor of a red shopping center building. 600 yen for a 16 minute ride to overlook this beautiful city with mountains. Helped us find our way back to our hotel. It rotates slow enough that it does not tickle the tummy. A smooth ride. To get to it, you have to walk through a delicious food court.

Yelp
If you find yourself on the seventh floor of HEP FIVE and see that the lines to hop on this mega ferris wheel aren't too long (good luck), buy yourself a ticket and prepare for some amazing views of Osaka. The whole ride around is about 15 minutes and four people can fit in a car comfortably. The lines were surprisingly non-existent, so me and my gal pal were able to hop right on (tickets were under $10 each if I remember correctly). Right before the ride, they take a "Memorial Photo" to be purchased after you're through. (And by memorial, it's nothing cryptic; just a little lost in translation, lol). Either way, we both survived!

Yelp
I will be completely honest about riding this. I needed to kill time before I traveled to Kyoto. I saw Hep 5 when I was wandering the city In the morning and figured it would be a good time killer. The admission is nominal. You have your entry to your own observation box. As the ride goes higher, you have a good view of the city. It would have been better at night as the Osaka is beautiful in the evening. If you enjoy large Ferris wheels, this one's for you.

Yelp
Actually I hate Ferris Wheels but I have been to the Hep 5 Ferris Wheel around 3-4 times already. I usually take friends or guest here to show them what Osaka looks like from above. It gives a really nice view of northern Osaka specially on a clear night. Of course this is also a great place to have a nice quiet romantic date :). Check it out when you are in Osaka, not very hard to find that gigantic red ferris wheel on top of the building.

Yelp
We went up on a rainy night, not the most ideal weather to be in. Basically you would be looking at a pixelated night view of Osaka/Umeda. The best part of this Ferris wheel ride is the speakers that are provided in each car, where you could just dj away and personalize the experience. I imagine this would be pretty romantic if you're with your special someone! Or, just make it a party with a few good friends. Cost: 500 JPY per person per ride Duration: approx. 15 min (I actually think it was shorter than 15 though)

Yelp
Right across from Osaka Station, the ferris wheel is slow moving enough to give you a great 360 degree view of the city. Fun, gorgeous views, & located in the mall where you can shop, eat (Gudetama Cafe!), and play (Joypolis arcade & Owl/Hedgehog/Guinea Pig Cafe).

Yelp
Ferris wheel sitting atop the 7th story of the Hep 5 building. It is beautifully lit up at night with an amazing view of the city. You can plug in your phone to the attached speakers to play your own music, which makes the experience more personal and memorable. The ferris wheel itself moves slow and I think the entire rotation is about 15 min. It is $5 per person. They take a pic of you prior to boarding and you can purchase it after if you'd like.

Yelp
It's funny to be writing a review for a ferris wheel in Osaka, Japan but this one was really pretty great. From what I recall, it only costs like $7 USD and it was great. The thing is sitting on top of a 7 story building in Osaka, it goes very slowly and - in a unique touch - has individual sound speakers in each car that you can plug into your iPhone for music while you go around. I was on my own, so it was fun to be able to jam to my own music in Japan for a bit while I enjoyed some good views of the city.

Yelp
With increasing competition, Hep Five has managed to stand out as a decent shopping destination for young adults. Located in the Umeda district, it's really easily accessible from Osaka and Umeda station. Shopping wise, there's a mix of mid to high-end fashion, mainly targeting women, though there are some shops for men. What Hep Five is really known for is the rooftop ferris wheel which has made this building somewhat of a landmark. It's a pretty decent view at night and worth a visit if you enjoy high up views. The floors on top of the restaurant is dominated by a Sega Joypolis featuring puri-kura machines, small attractions (presumably ride-based but we didn't try them out), some arcades and UFO machines.

Yelp
Its existence becomes the landmark of Osaka, which matches the temperament of the Osaka people. The bright red figure is said to symbolize showy preference of them. The Ferris wheel of round form is very pretty. It became the considerable topic at first and I was not able to get on it immediately. It was a cloudy day that I got on. I can look around it to Mount Ikoma and Akashi Bridge on the day when it is fine, but I was not able to watch it unfortunately due to unfavorable weather. But I was able to overlook cityscape of Osaka. After all night is recommended. The illumination of the high-rise building is like the heap of jewels in gleam. You may enjoy a romantic night view.

Yelp
This was pretty good. $5/person for about a 15 minute ride. It felt very comfortable and safe. Good view of Osaka from all sides. The little pods have speakers you can plug your phone into which is pretty cool. It's located in the middle of a shopping mall too so it's close to food.

Yelp
This ferris wheel is in the Hep Five shopping center in Osaka, Japan. There's lots to do and see at this multi-level mall and the ferris wheel was definitely one of the things that drew us to this place (in addition to the Gudetama Cafe!). The other 3 family members really wanted to ride, but being afraid of heights, I was reluctant. So glad they talked me into it! It cost 500 yen per person (less than $5 each) and the ride lasted a decent amount of time because the wheel moves so slowly - not scary at all! As you could imagine, the night views of the city were great! A sign in the car told us we could play our own music, so my granddaughter plugged in her phone and we had a ball singing Christmas carols as we rode! We hated to get off when our time was up. When you leave, you have an opportunity to buy a photo they take before you get on - it was pretty cute and for less than $5, it was worth it. Definitely, recommend taking the ride - it was a lot of fun!!

Yelp
If you have the Amazing Osaka pass, you get to ride this for free! The ferris wheel was new and modern and afforded great views of the city. Unfortunately, the doors were kind of cloudy which impaired photography. There were attached decals on the sides of the gondolas which showed the nearby landmarks.
