The hotel is located in Ballsbridge, a slightly quieter part of the city, just a short bus ride away from the city centre—with bus stops a short walking distance away. The large Herbert Park is right next door, and is ideal of walks at all times of the day. There are quite a few nice restaurants, cafés and supermarkets close by.|It was pretty cold the day we reached, and were welcomed by some nice and warm shots of Jameson Whiskey—which was quite nice, given that Saint Patrick’s Day was just around the corner. The room and the washroom were quite spacious and neat and clean. The beds were quite comfortable, the wi-fi was smooth and sofas were wonderful to enjoy the views. Having the Nespresso machine (and the wide variety of pods) in the room was a nice touch!|We were visiting Dublin for Saint Patrick’s Day (which we thoroughly enjoyed) and couldn’t have found a better place to stay.|Everyone at the reception was warm and welcoming, and made us feel nice—a big thank-you for that! We had a wonderful stay.|We shall definitely be back on our next visit.

Herbert Park Hotel delivers classic elegance with understated charm. From the beautifully appointed rooms, mine featuring a jetted tub and a private terrace overlooking the park, to the refined, timeless furnishings in impeccable condition, every detail is curated for comfort without ostentation. As a frequent business traveler, I’ve stayed in top-tier hotels across Dublin, and this one is exceptional. The location is ideal: quiet, central, and perfect for professionals needing rest and access. The on-site dining is superb, consistently excellent, with thoughtful service and a tranquil atmosphere that never feels rushed. The in-room upscale coffee machine is a small but deeply appreciated luxury that speaks to the hotel’s overall commitment to quality. The same with the sitting area. Most notably, the staff here are in a league of their own: professional, kind, and intuitively responsive. Herbert Park Hotel doesn’t announce its elegance, it embodies it. For those seeking a genuinely elevated stay without flash or fatigue, this is the place. Thank you for the warm welcome and an exquisite experience.

Very friendly and polite staff, everyone is always happy to help (a special thanks here to all the reception staff!). Very easy check-in/out online or in-person, very clean lobby and rooms. Good selection of food in the restaurant and bar area. Conveniently located in D4, right outside of the busy city center. Easily reachable by bus or taxi (or a 20 min walk); right next to a beautiful park. Lots of pubs, coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Safe area.

The reason we choose this hotel is for the fabulous and comfortable lobby to socialise as well as proximity to events we attend.||Unfortunately, during our stay the hotel was busier than usual and overrun with people attending some sort of ‘tournament’ which meant awards and ceremonies taking place right next to the lobby, which in itself wouldn’t normally be an issue except for the attendees and their accompanying families being loud and uncouth. ||Also, due to how busy it was, despite the waiters and waitresses in the lobby/dining/bar area heroic attempts to tend to all, it was clear they were under staffed and struggled to keep up with demand. More staff are needed during busy summer months or during peak times.||Despite paying a large amount of money for a room, there was no kettle to make tea.||Apart from those things, the hotel is fantastic.

Fantastic hotel to stay in. Always get a great personal welcome Co time I stay and not just from reception but also the restaurant and house staff. Paolo checked he out this morning, extremely professional and helpful. Rooms and food all excellent. I stay her nearly every week when they have availability. That says it all.

A super lunch served in beautiful surroundings. Our waiter Cedric was extremely helpful and friendly. It was my first time in the hotel but I will definitely make a point of returning.

Google
Can't rate the Herbert highly enough. Easy check-in/out, exceptionally clean lobby, rooms, and bathrooms. Possibly the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. Guinness poured perfectly, cocktails were brilliant, and the steak was phenomenal, cooked to perfection. The staff was polite, knowledgeable about the menu, and extremely friendly. WiFi works throughout, onsite parking and the room tvs have more channels than you could wish for. Truly was the perfect stay.

Yelp
Skip the downtown madness and stay near the green at Herbert Park. With plenty of high- and medium-class dining nearby, you'll be close enough yet far enough. This place seems to have been updated, at least in my opinion, and it was clean and well-stocked with nice room layouts. If you're looking for something reasonably priced compared to the bags of gold you'll spend in city center, welcome to Ballsbridge. The staff was friendly and the hotel dining is more than sufficient. If you're lucky enough to stay on the Park Residence side, nice park views abound. Stroll around that park in your down time, or it's only a 15-minute walk to the sea. Bus stops are nearby when you need to go farther, and you're close to the stadium here with plenty of dining along the way if going on foot. The locals like the area; I might as well too!

Yelp
Pre COVID, My sister and were joining a Brendan tour of Ireland but choose to arrive a day early to give us a day to explore Dublin and have some alone time. The Clayton Ballsbridge was the hotel the tour was starting was fully booked so our travel agent booked us here for one night as it was within walking distance to the Clayton Ballsbridge. It's a very nice, modern hotel. The front desk personnel were very friendly and gave great recommendations on where to eat, drink, etc. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Adequate toiletries, though finding the blow dryer was a challenge ! There is a restaurant and bar and while we did not eat there we did have a few drinks at the bar. The bartender was so nice, we felt very welcome. My only complaint, this hotel is not close to Temple Bar or the City Centre, we had to take taxi's to get to where the heart of Dublin, its kind of on the outskirts as I would put. We were there only 1 night, but it was a fine stay. I would stay again if necessity called for it, but would prefer to be closer to Central Dublin.

Yelp
Absolute perfection. Here for the Notre Dame game and the staff, the room, the food, the hotel bar... everything is absolutely incredible. Since the moment we checked in the staff here has been like a second family and has also been so amazing to our toddler. I am actually sad to leave, everything from breakfast to late night sandwiches has been incredible with impeccable service. I'm so sad to leave. What an amazing stay and incredible staff. The staff here honestly make so spectacular.

Yelp
The rooms were quite clean and the room service did a very good job cleaning the room between days. The lobby was beautiful and very comfortable to sit around with friends. John and Sol,the night porters made the experience impeccable and was extremely kind and witty. Couldn't ask for a better experience!

Yelp
The Herbert Park hotel is a good hotel in Ballsbridge that's a great tip if you're going to a concert in the RDS or Lansdowne Road. It looks on to the beautiful Herbert Park and is really centrally located. The hotel itself is modern and a little cold. The hotel bar doesn't have a huge amount of atmosphere unless you bring a huge crowd with you, but it's nice for a quiet drink. The hotel restaurant is ok too, nothing to write home about. The rooms are great though, at the moment there's a deal on for €70 a room. They are really nice rooms that are furnished well, clean and well specked out. They even have play stations. The newspaper is delivered to your room in the morning and they do a nice breakfast too.

Yelp
This hotel is a bit dated, but perfect for a business trip. The rooms are big and clean, with restaurants, pubs and cafes near by. If you are looking for cheerful place for hotel, this is not it. The staff are as cold as the atmosphere, but bearable. You get what you pay for.

Yelp
I was here for a business meeting and it served our needs fine. I thoroughly agree with the previous two reviews it does have an element of coldness to it. I think it's the large space needs more plants etc. The service was very friendly at the bar.

Yelp
I have never stayed here (it is only down the road from my home, so, if I have to stay over you know I'm in BIG trouble with the wife!) I have had lunch here a few times recently and it is always good and tasty and not horribly expensive, they do some very nice open sandwiches.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel overlooking Herbert Park. Rooms were spacious, immaculately clean and beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean but there was only one hand towel supplied between two people. There was no courtesy trays and I wasn't prepared to pay €3.50 every time I wanted to have a cup of tea during the night. Breakfast was also a big let down. The bacon appeared to have been reheated and was as tough as nails, and the mushrooms and tomatoes were tasteless. I have had better tasting food from service stations. I won't be returning as I can book a three star hotel with all the extras for less than the cost of this four star hotel.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel in a prime location, superb staff, could not be more helpful. Best location for any event in the RDS, or Landsdowne Road, great bars and restaurants nearby. Rooms are comfortable, clean and well maintained. Very good hotel.

Yelp
This place is alright. As others have noted, it's a bit dated. The outside looks nice but the interior could use an update. The paint/wallpaper in my room is peeling a bit. But it's a good place for a business trip. My office is about a 15 min walk from here (~1.4k) so it's a nice walk in the morning. Free wifi in the rooms works well so that is a plus. My company has a good rate here, but the downside is that breakfast is not included (additional 15 euro pp for continental breakfast... A bit steep). Doesn't bother me during the week as I can grab food at the office but it would be nice for the weekend. The hotel itself is in the Ballsbridge area of town, a few kilometers away from the Center (Temple Bar area). Good for me as its close to the office, but not super touristy/packed with things to do. A cab ride downtown though is only a few euro. Located on Herbert Park which is a lovely park for a morning or afternoon walk. Solid for the price, but if my preferred hotel is available for the next trip (was full this time) I'll be staying elsewhere.

Yelp
I was in Herbert Park Hotel for a conference for a few days so we had breakfast/lunch/dinner there and used the conference facilities as well as the stay overnight. The good thing about Herbert Park Hotel is its location in Ballsbridge and the massive Herbert Park at the back which is great for a walk. Rooms are actually quite good and there's nothing wrong with those, if you get a good price this might be a good choice, for the room only. Breakfast is also a nice standard hotel-fare breakfast. However the place is incredibly corporate and cold. There's absolutely no atmosphere in it. It really doesn't feel good at all spending any more than the necessary time in there. The hotel bar is quite bland and expensive, but there are good pubs just across the road. Lunch was the same "selection of sandwiches" every day, which was a massive platter of boringly assembled sandwiches full of butter and mayonnaise. For me as a German who is used to have the main meal at lunch, this really didn't go that well. Others didn't mind that much, but nobody really liked it. Dinner was a buffet option, because we were with a conference, which wasn't very flavourful either, but not really bad - the second day it was a bit better. The chef does Tandoori/Indian spices, but of course for a group he seems he needs to adjust the spice levels to be acceptable to everyone. I don't know how a la carte food is. The service was just barely minimal, it was nearly impossible to get the attention of a waiter for extra drinks or a dessert menu, and the waiters also seemed very cold and tried to get away from you as quickly as possible. In general it seemed none of the staff tried to go the extra mile, just basic service was delivered, not actively looking for solutions. One of our group had his bike lock broken and his bicycle taken away by staff because he chained it to a lamp post in front of the hotel which apparently was on their property, but had no signage at all and looked like street parking. After long discussions with management he received a 15 Euro reimbursement for a new bike lock (I paid 60 or 70 Euro for my last bike lock in a cycle shop). So if you can get a good deal here and are about the location, the rooms are nice and there's nothing wrong there, but don't expect a cozy setting or great food/service.

Yelp
Could be the best hotel in Dublin. The bar is fun and the staff hip. Great for business meetings and right next the the US Embasy!

Yelp
We came in here for tea after a walk in the park. Although the serving staff were very helpful and friendly, our experience with the reception staff could have been better. Although we had spent about €25, they still insisted on charging us for the car park. Also it seemed like the manager was there, and she didn't lift a finger when we questioned the charge. It wasn't a surprise that there were hardly any people there. The hotel has a lot of potential but silly customer service faux pas like this let it down. Won't return.

Yelp
The Herbert Park is a nicely appointed hotel. I've stayed there a couple times for work, and the service and accommodations are quite nice. The continental breakfast is pricey, but above average, and the adjacency to both RDS and Aviva Stadium - as well as the easy walk to the city centre make it convenient and not right downtown (it's about a mile and a half to the Grafton/Trinity area.) Walking in the park has become a highlight of my evenings, and there are plenty of dining options close by. I will return, given the opportunity.

Yelp
Haven't stayed here, but have stopped by for a coffee. Ok. I stopped by for an Irish coffee that one time too. I always feel like I am getting ripped off...

Yelp
Stayed there about a month ago with wife and child , when we arrived ,guy on reception said there was no reservation , gave him res number but he refused to take it , eventually got person on phone who made reception , guy kept saying sir sir sir there is no reservation ,but it was a woman he was speaking to , eventually after 30 mins he found it , no apology nothing , went to room , and toilet filthy , an over priced dated place , staff are rude , except bar and restaurant staff , rang down for extra pillows , were told they had none , after 2 hours at 1am a knock on door with a blanket in a pillow case , never ever ever again ,

Yelp
Food is good, rooms are small and next to no sound insulation. Would not stay here again.

Yelp
I'm staying here a couple of nights because I'm traveling for business. The hotel is very dated. Inside my room the wall paper is peeling, the walls are scuffed and the baseboards are well worn. I've ordered room service and ate at the restaurant which was typical hotel grade food (nothing to rave about). It is a great walkable neighborhood with a lot of restaurants around. I took the hop on hop off sight seeing tour and was able to walk to one of the hop on stops, it was about a mile away. The hotel has free wifi which I found to be very reliable and fast. But the real gem is the Herbert Park which is right behind the hotel. Before and after dinner one night I walked the grounds of the park and it is beautiful. The park has a pond with ducks and a swan, there are people jogging, walking their dogs and walking the grounds of the park. Very peaceful and relaxing.
