What a peacefull and uterly beautifull place. Well managed by Sergio, and nice and helpfull staff members, always ready to attend your requests. Great rooms, amazing breakfast, and the surroundings are quite spectacular. The sunrise in your rooms make it so romantic. The view is too much to describe. The suspendend jakuzzi, the steam room and the pool complete an amazing hotel stay that I will always cherish and most likely come back even tough I am not one to return to places I have been, but this one left a memory and happy moments on me and my partner.

Escaped from frenetic Lisbon for a weekend here. Relatively easy to get to by car. Magnificent setting in vast and beautiful private grounds. Stayed in master suite which was very comfortable. Log fire a very nice touch so too was the outdoor hot tub (although water could have been hotter). The only time saw or heard anyone else was at breakfast. Breakfast offering was comprehensive. Didn’t mind driving round the area to get dinner as there are many restaurants nearby.

Gorgeous, serene, luxurious oasis in the middle of farmlands and woods. Most comfortable bed we slept in during our two-week honeymoon (6 hotels total!). Beautiful pool, amazing grounds, adorable resident farm animals. Great breakfast overlooking the rolling hills. We also had wonderful massages in the spa which the kind staff coordinated for us fairly last minute. We stayed in a room with a patio and hot tub, note it is a small hot tub that you fill for each use but it fit 2 people and was cute! Only downside was having to drive into the nearest town for dinner each night, about 20 min away. Just something to plan for. Thank you Herdade do Amarelo!

Everything was perfect: the location , buildings ,facilities, service . Our suite was beautifully designed and situated with a lovely view of the countryside and of the pool. The pools and spa facilities were lovely and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious and available at a time to suit. The staff were most helpful. We have no hesitation in recommending Herdade do Amarelo and look forward to returning in the future. |

This is quite of a tough review for me to write. The location was absolutely amazing and the property is beautiful. However, there were a few things which spoiled the whole experience. The worst part in all this is that after I left a review somewhere else, the owner came forward with lies which can easily be verified online.||||Rooms:||The rooms are lovely, but there was little love being put into them. It’s quite hard to explain, but we stayed in similar places before, and there were small details which added character to the room. In addition, it seemed that there was some refurbishing being needed. Our shower, had the shower hose completely broken, and for 160 euros a night, this is something which should never happen. ||||Coffee and other amenities:||There was coffee in the room, but for a fee. Some places which costed 3x less than this one, offered free coffee. However, here they asked for 1 euro for crappy capsule coffee. Also for breakfast, which was amazing btw, there was only the most awful machine made instant coffee, I have ever had in my life. I've added a photo showing the cost for a coffee in that machine. After staying there, the owner stated that there were 2 machines and that one was free, but that is not true and it makes no sense at all.||||Common areas and nature/spa feeling:||Also, we had the most gorgeous view of the Alentejo plains, completely spoiled by loud music, with a repertoire ranging from the God Father soundtrack to some other weird music. The name of this place has Natura in it, so should you muffle all the nature sounds with this? The owner later told us that they were playing Christmas music, which again is untrue. We could even hear it in the morning from our room, which spoils the relaxing experience.||||Jacuzzi:||Finally the jacuzzi. It was unusable. It took about 1h to fill, given that there was almost no water pressure, and when we used it, it was so loud that we felt bad for our neighbours. Check online and a lot of people mention the same. Not to talk about the brown water coming from the tap.||||Conclusion:||It was a gigantic disappointment, given that we wanted a proper SPA experience, and a proper borderline luxury experience. A few days later we stayed in a place where we paid 50 euros a night, and it felt much more luxurious and pleasant than this so called SPA. My advice is to refurbish the rooms a bit, remove the awful mini bar, offer at least free coffee, and fix the jacuzzi thing because it’s absolutely unusable. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back.||||Honestly, the experience was mostly ruined by the owner who is clearly only doing this for the money. The staff during breakfast was extremely kind and nice, but it is indeed a pity that one person can ruin what has a lot of potential for being an awesome experience. The whole place is a mess, expensive, and not at all what you see in the photos. Probably this only happens in the cheaper rooms, but then if this is the case, try to only have super expensive and higher quality rooms.

Edit: Unfortunately the owner’s reply is full of inaccuracies. Instead of spending energy commenting online, please channel it into making the place a tiny bit better. 1- coffee isn’t free as anyone can see on the attached photo. Nestle or not but it was still instant coffee and quite bad. 2- music from the god father soundtrack can hardly pass as Christmas music. No Bublé or Sinatra which I would have appreciated. Also it was loud enough for me to hear it from the room. 3- sharing the dates I’ve been there for isn’t allowed according to GDPR laws. 4- there are plenty of comments on the jacuzzi here.

Incredibly peaceful place, with great views, very comfortable and pretty rooms. The breakfast is awesome, plenty of very tasty food. The staff is super nice, from reception to house cleaning. The property has some nice trails, farm animals we can pet and plenty of secluded and pretty spaces.

We were hesitant to choose Herdade do Amarelo because the price was a bit steep for local standards (we're both Portuguese), but thank God we did! It was an amazing experience in incredible surroundings. The kindness in which we were welcomed continued throughout our two-day stay. In the first morning I wasn't feeling too good and my partner went to have breakfast by himself. I could not believe when I saw him return with a beautiful spread of everything we had ordered the night before. He had mentioned I wasn't feeling great and they took time and care to ensure I wouldn't go hungry. ||Besides attentive staff and wonderful views, Herdade do Amarelo has great food (the included breakfast is one of the best I have seen in Portugal) and a super comfortable bed! We chose the suite with the outdoor Jacuzzi and it was worth every penny. I was sorry not to have tried their spa, but I had to had an excuse to come back!||Thank you so much for two incredible days!
