For a Weekend of Roughing It Deluxe, Book the New Catskills Forest Retreat, Here Here | Vogue

"Three hours door to door from Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, this freshly opened Catskills retreat trades doors for nine tented cabins—like tree forts for grownups—spread over 23 forested acres in the small town of West Fulton, New York. Inside, guests aren’t exposed to the elements, though they come pretty darn close, a spirit underscored by the website’s field guide to on-property birds (five woodpecker species and 21 wood warblers) and a cheeky wildfire note: “Eat a roach, save a forest.” Conceived “high in the Catskills” by owners Kat Schaufelberger and her husband Zak Orth—who joke they have “a collective 72 hours of camping experience,” though Kat brings 12 years in New York hospitality (Gramercy Park Hotel and the Standard Hotels) and Zak is an actor who played JJ in Wet Hot American Summer—the retreat grew out of weekends at a house they bought in West Fulton six-and-a-half years ago; she ultimately moved upstate full time (they still keep a Boerum Hill residence) to open a place of her own." - Nicole Phelps

If I could be certified in meat eating, I would take the course. So finding out they only offered a plant-based menu, I was a bit reluctant to dine at the Mess. Lo and behold, Chef Matt delivered beyond our expectations. The starter Toast with plant based butter and radish was 🤌🏽. Both main entree pizzas were also very tasty. The final pizza which I believe had a spicy (avocado?) based sauce was unlike anything I’ve had before. Dessert was a peanut butter infused something with chocolate ganache 🤌🏽 We would dine here again and anywhere Chef Matt prepares food.

HEREHERE is like NOWHERE else. Truly a labor of love by its host, Kat. I was transported to a world I couldn’t have dreamed up myself and I’m so happy to have discovered this special place. Yes it’s cool, there is a great wine selection and delicious vegan food, and yet still very in the woods. The real reason to stay is for Kat and her entourage of cute dogs - hands down the most unconventional and best hospitality I’ve ever experienced in my life.

From the first step I felt rested & relaxed. Our host Kate is amazing and super friendly, because of her our gateway in nature was unforgettable! We stayed there for 4 days and it was best experience ever, place is pet friendly that is game changing for dog parents 🐾 Highly recommended!!! You must visit this place ✨

We brought a big group of friends here for the weekend. What a beautiful place to rest, connect and meet new pals here too. The owner is attentive, courteous and has a great playlist to set the mood. The place is stunning and the nature is epic.

This place seems to have a high rate of not paying for work that was done and unfortunately we are victims as well. Her husband or ex husband now and her both asked for us to paint this vehicle posted which we don't usually get into this type of repair but they convinced us, ask us to deliver it when done and promised to pay and well never did. So based on this I would never do business with this place. Make your own choice but someone that can screw other business owners and then expect people to do business with them should not be a business owner.

Wha a little gem upstate! I loved the cabins, they were cozy and clean. Very sturdy too! The communal space was very cool, super design. Very very clean place & bathrooms were impeccable! Food was so good too! Coffee all day long, fire place at night- the host was super nice and her cute little dogs were super chill....AND I took my 4 year old with another mama and her 4 year old. We had a fantastic time. So yea- You got kids- they are welcomed! Kat was very cool, down to earth an accommodating to all our needs! We are going back again! Can't wait! We need CAMP HERE HERE to get out of the dirty city!

My wife and I have been here three times and counting. Fabulous way to enjoy the outdoors without the hassle of setting up your own campsite. The bar and dining areas are stunning, and the beds in the tents are more comfortable than the bed we have at home.

Visited Camp Here Here twice, very sad to have missed the opportunity for a third stay before their season closed. The experience plays decedent, but the vibe is comfortably unpretentious. The tents are quaint, cozy, and beautifully designed. Even felt cozy in the pouring rain. The beds and linens are delish, and the accommodations are clever & campy. The grounds are pristine, thoughtfully considered but not overly manicured. The camp feels absolutely authentic to the environment and hotel concept. The mess hall in particular was incredibly comfortable and welcoming. Its completely open to nature but still private/intimate enough to relax. The bath house was beautiful and a pleasure to use. The food spread was insane. Dying to stay in the lodge building next. Hostess and staff were wonderfullll.
