We stayed at Heriot Bay Inn for our 10-year wedding anniversary and it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. First off, the staff were incredible — genuinely friendly, welcoming, and so helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were cute and quaint, with the perfect cozy charm that made it easy to relax and unwind. The inn itself feels like a beautiful heritage building, full of character and history, adding a special touch to the whole experience. And the view of the Bay? Just stunning. Watching the sunrise and sunset here will quite literally take your breath away. We also loved the on-site pub — the food was incredible, fresh, and full of flavor. And with the Cortes Ferry just down the street, it was easy to take a spontaneous little day trip to explore even more of this beautiful area. This place made our anniversary feel truly special. We’re so happy we chose to stay here, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a magical getaway!

Had a lovely meal at the pub here with my wife — the oyster burgers were absolutely amazing! Service was excellent, even on a busy and hot day. Our server Felix really stood out, he was friendly, attentive, and calm under pressure, really made us feel welcome. A great lawn with a lovely view of the bay.

While staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were fortunate to have a room on the quiet side of the hotel (not above the lively and loud pub), the rooms left much to be desired. Very clean, indeed. Our room had a door opening to the shared deck with a lovely view over the harbour. But this was the only exterior access in the suite, other than a small window in the bathroom. So if you wanted fresh air, you had to open the door and thus had no privacy or security. A screen in the door would have solved this problem. It was a lovely warm stay (we had three nights) and we needed ventilation. Also ran out of water in the shower just before we were heading out to the event we were there for. So not recommended, despite the kind and courteous staff.

We visited the pub at end of a bike ride. It’s all about the location, which is amazing. Friendly people, food is pretty average. Felt bad for the servers as they are run off their feet, no time to be friendly and converse with visitors. Great place for beer on a sunny day.

It's at the end of the road and a ferry to Cortes Island awaits. It could be two hours so what better than to have a meal, or at least a pint of ale, at this pub/hotel. Decidedly country in style, the ambience here harkens to a U.S. Roadhouse. Eat out on the full lawn, play a game of giant chess, or gaze at the west coast inlet. The food is a bit pricey due to the isolated location but the servers are friendly. If the ferry is cancelled, well, there is room at this Inn.

Never disappoints! Warm and welcoming and full of character! A very old Inn which comes with many quirks, a lot of character, and a century of good memories! Very nice waterfront location with a warm approach to hospitality. Exactly what I was looking for!

We were there for a friend s bday party. We each paid 70$ for a prime rib meal. The meal was ok but the price is quite steep. There was not enough food if more people wanted seconds. Some decided not to pursue more. No coffee or tea. Everything was extra. Pretty lame for the money!

Yelp
Friendly service and tasty food at the pub in April 2024! We brought our 5 month old so were seated in a room adjacent to the pub itself. Fish was super delicious, fries and cole slaw were ok.

Yelp
Love it. This place has great service and reasonable prices. I ate there 3 times during my 2-week vacation and found the golden beet salad, the calamari, the vegetarian burrito, and the eggs and toast delicious. Bonuses include a gorgeous view and a laundromat with a bookshelf (leave s book, take a book) .

Yelp
Great restaurant and pub with a beautiful view of the marina. Small menu with local ingredients with options from the pub menu as well. Outside seating can fill up so call ahead to reserve a spot. Good for families as well with a solid kids menu.

Yelp
Stopped by for a brew and an appy. We ordered 2 beers and a poutine. The beer was good...the poutine less so. The fries were overcooked to the point of burnt, bitter, and way too salty. The gravy was more like soup and also way too salty. The service was fine but who cares if the food is subpar.

Yelp
The restaurant here came highly recommended by a local arts and crafts business owner for great seafood. This being our 1st visit to this quaint island 10 minutes from Campbell River BC by ferry, we were quite excited to sample the local catch. We ordered quite a spread: Fried oysters dipped in corm meal, calamari, & seafood chowder for appetizers. Mixed Greens salad with charbroiled tuna in wasabi dressing. Stir fry with salmon, Mussels and clams in sauce with garlic bread. We were a little disappointed that there weren't more "seafood" choices so we did the best we could with what they had available. The oysters, the calamari and the chowder were very good although I didn't care much for the "curry" dressing for the oysters so I ended up dipping them in the calamari dip. We really enjoyed the charbroiled tuna on the salad but couldn't taste the wasabi at all. I was not happy with the mussels as some of them were not too fresh (this was my entree!), but my wife seemed satisfied with her stir fry with salmon. I was really glad I ordered the piece of fried halibut on the side but it made me wish i just got the fish and chips after tasting that bad mussel. Our server, despite the fact that she was the only one attending to everybody did a good job of seeing to our needs More hits than misses for sure but would I eat here again? Probably not.

Yelp
On an already friendly Vancouver Island, Heriot Bay Inn has to be the friendliest place ! Our whole family descended on a sunny weekend in August for Grandad's 90th birthday - we had a berth in the Marina for the grandparents sailboat and rented a cabin for the land folks. The marina staff were excellent as usual - helping with electrical hookups and suggesting better beams to tie to when the afternoon 30knots came through. The two bedroom wooden cabin was airy, full of light, well appointed and clean. It was also far enough away from the pub to be quiet in the evening :) But the highlight of our stay was the birthday feast ! A 90th is to be celebrated in style - Lois and Kevin (the chef) rose to the challenge. I was expecting dinner to be tasty but the presentation amazed me - not only did everything taste fantastic, it looked fantastic too ! And the cake ! Precisely Granddad's favourite down to the abundant whipped cream and fresh raspberries. Great food, such friendly people, a special place this is - many thanks to Heriot Bay for giving us a birthday weekend never to be forgotten.

Yelp
We visited the Heriot Bay Inn for dinner one evening while staying at Rebecca Spit Campground. The gardens, heritage building and location are very beautiful. Unfortunately during our dinner we experienced poor service - mixed up the drinks, forgot the water, and some of the food came cold. In addition, we were disappointed by the limited menu (no fresh seafood). After that we were further disheartened when we were told that the Seafood Chowder (which most of us had ordered) had "run out" for the night - despite it being a Tuesday and not at all crowded. I would not plan on a meal from the dining room - just have a burger in the pub instead.

Yelp
We stayed at the Marina and it was a little bumpy with the ferry and pretty open to the sea, but was acceptable. We ate at the restaurant and it was wonderful! Would defiantly go back again. Good size portions and great food. Nice wait staff too.

Yelp
Was expecting a nice quiet island inn, but found out most of the rooms are above a bar with live music playing and drunks yelling until at least 2am! The walls are paper thin and you can hear all the conversations of your neighbours, people using the washrooms, and of course, the loud and rowdy crowd of people downstairs. Could not get any sleep here. Very bad Wi-Fi, nothing within walking distance, and they charged our credit card weeks before we were supposed to show up without telling us! Do not recommend unless you want to stay up all night partying, getting drunk, and listening to all the body noises of the people staying in the rooms around you. I will never return here.

Yelp
This place has an amazing view and excellent food and service. The people were nice, and the view of the marina at sunset blew me away. It seemed to be a local place but it was full and for good reason. I recommend this to people who love great food.

Yelp
Servers were super friendly! Menu was excellent with many vegetarian friendly options! Service was fast and food was well presented. The location couldn't be better - right on the marina! Was highly impressed and hope to return! As for the accommodation: cabins are cozy but dated. Campground has a great view. Staff are incredibly attententive. A bit pricey but a great experience!

Yelp
Eh. So beautiful location on a beautiful island. This should be amazing. The place is run down, but that's not the issue per se: it's an old hotel and that's actually pretty charming, and the price reflects the condition. But you do want to be aware that you will hear the folks next door snoring (and worse), and you want to know that the wifi pretty reliably gets overloaded in the evenings and that from 8-10 pm you will not have internet. You likely will not have any cell reception, so plan accordingly. And there's no AC, so if you're there in the summer accept that the kids partying at the campground out behind the hotel are likely going to keep you up. But for us the real issue was that it's very disorganized, the staff was snappish and unwelcoming, and the food is not good. Meals came lukewarm from the kitchen, staff was overwhelmed and inexperienced, and you just generally get the impression that management philosophy is, "Don't let the door hit your a@@ on the way out."

Yelp
Food on the patio has been fantastic! Crab and Spinach dip, tuna burger, yam dries, oysters perfectly prepared! And, my daughter says the chicken wings are awesome!

Yelp
Really nice little place on Quadra. Certainly the best place to eat on the island. In some ways it's nothing special, but for an island that doesn't have a lot of dining out options (especially in the winter) it's pretty amazing. We were on Quadra for one day and we ate here twice!
