"Located in East End Village and painted in Anguillan flag colors, the Heritage Collection is Anguilla’s only museum. It showcases the island’s history and geology from the time of the Arawaks to the 1969 Anguillan revolution, with additional displays on the British invasion (derisively called the "Bay of Piglets" by the press) as well as on Queen Elizabeth II’s royal visit. Established in 1996, its collection includes photographs and artifacts from the island’s major eras, including the days of slavery and the phosphate trade. If you’re lucky you’ll meet Colville Petty, the museum curator and founder, and garner some of his unique insight on Anguillan history."

Mr Colville Petty has curated a fantastic private collection of historical items from Anguilla throughout the ages, from the indigenous Amerindians through to modern day. His dedication to showcasing this remarkable island’s history is commendable, and he is extremely knowledgable about each era and piece on display. With Mr Petty having personally experienced Anguilla’s revolution in the 60s and 70s, this section of the museum is filled to the brim with wonderful anecdotes and memorabilia from such an important era in the island’s history. We learned so much about Anguilla from visiting the Heritage Collection Museum and were more than happy to pay the $10 entry fee to support his endeavours. Would recommend a visit to anyone planning a trip to Anguilla.

Wow! We learned so much about the history of Anguilla. There were many fascinating artifacts. The museum is well organized into eras with a lovely guide who explains the layout and then leaves you to explore at your pace. It's clear he is passionate about collecting and maintaining this treasure-trove of memorabilia. Our visit here enhanced our appreciation of this lovely island and her people immensely...and was only $5 US for an adult.

Wonderful museum and I wholly recommend making this stop. Sir Petty is an absolute pleasure and he will gladly sign your book should you choose to purchase! He is an Anguillan treasure and will talk to you about Anguilla history as long as you like!

We've visited five times. Well-curated collection of artifacts, documents, and more of Anguilla's often-difficult past. Colville Petty, the curator, is most knowledgeable. Do check out his books on Anguilla in the small gift shop.

A small but important museum. The curator is the owner and has amassed a great collection of items throughout Anguilla history. Excellent exhibit on the revolution/breakaway from St Kitts.

What an awesome collection of island history and materials. So thankful an individual took it upon himself to put everything together in a well organized, quality display. All the interpretation is well written and it's cool the museum is in the house he grew up in. A must stop!!!
