Went here Friday night as we were looking for a nice easy dinner option. The food was great, came to the table promptly. Fresh and hot. The sauce was home made and the correct consistency, salad was dressed well and was vibrant with lots of colour, also the vegetables were fresh and not frozen which was nice for a change. Steak, i had ordered medium rare but came out a bit over medium so they may need to fix their grill cook consistency. Other than that we couldn't fault the meals at all, very nice. The staff were also accommodating spoke well and actually cared. Will be back with more people for sure thanks very much guys, appreciate it.

We’ve been dining at the Heritage regularly for several years and have never been disappointed by the meal quality or the service quality. The menu has an exciting array of meals and entrees and the bar service is always spectacular. Thank you to all the management and staff.

Only place left in town to get a room for the night. Very small room with bunks. 3 flights of stairs to get to the accommodation floor. Shared facilities. No off-street parking. At $125 well, you be the judge..... Yeah, I know, but the park benches were already occupied. 🤷🏻 But, the food was good as were the staff. EDIT..... I've just used the bathroom facilities and I didn't believe you could actually feel dirtier after a shower. Marks that look like spit and cum on the wall of the toilet, oh, the side that didn't have a hole punched in it that is... Seriously folk, avoid the place 😔😔😔

June 2025 I booked this hotel for my mum as she was travelling from the Sunshine Coast to see me in Townsville. I booked and paid $125 online and then when she got there they 'didn't have the room I booked'. The online fee was refunded but she was made to pay for a more expensive family room. I think this was rude- they should block off the rooms if not available or just upgrade people when the website makes a mistake!! I have tried to contact the hotel, however their website has no contact information available. I asked mum what it was like inside and this was her response: Hotel was not great. I wouldn't even give it 1 star. No off street parking. Accommodation on third floor with no elevator. Shared bathroom and toilet and I was at the far end of the hall way. No water in room not even cold jug in fridge. Had to get water for jug from bathroom. TV remote wasn't working (batteries I think). Signs up telling you to put your rubbish in bin at end of hall, and 10c containers in other bin at another place and to leave your wet towels in bucket in bathroom. The room was tiny with double bed and single bed, table and 2 chairs and a small walking space between. Oh and a fridge. Window was sealed shut with air conditioner at bottom so only 1 way out. Glad there wasn't a fire. Makes camping in a swag seem glamorous and wish I had bought it with me. UPDATE 24/9/25 STILL have not received the refund after contacting various people via phone and email. Booking.com and the hotel. have left messages and no return call. Booking.com wants a pin code but we don't have one and it feels super dodgy!

We stayed in a double ensuite room on the 3rd floor. We paid $150.|The room was unclean...we arrived at 5pm and room had not yet been serviced from previous night and we found glass shards on the floor beside the bed. The furniture and furnishings were very old and worn. French doors to balcony are not very secure (only had barrel bolts that were loose and drop down latch). Should be advertised as backpackers hostel only. Do not go on Thursday or Friday if you want quiet as it's next to 2 night clubs.|Pluses...good location, good pub meals available on site, accommodating staff.

Location is great...we walked in side entrance..no signage for meals... room music was quite loud and the Televisions were on..it was very busy...Our meals weren't the best.. no quiet area to sit and enjoy the outside view.. Not a fan..

My stay here was good. The room was stuffy and hot, but the AC cooled it down reasonably well. Very little ventilation to the room. A positive note, the staff were friendly and very accommodating. This was the only place that had availability at midnight, when I found myself in Rockhampton without a place to stay. They stayed back to get us checked in for the night. Calling them on the number on google works, but their website does not have a phone number.

Yelp
Four out of five unexpected delights! I went to this place when I was in Rocky recently and I was pleasantly surprised. The Heritage is situated right on the river. The décor was fun and cool and there is an outdoor area on the side facing the river. The restaurant is very definitely a restaurant and not a pub. Food is also available from the bar (i.e. a limited/smaller version of the restaurant menu). The food was all very nice - I had the eggplant parma ($18) with a side dish of wok tossed Asian vegetables ($5). I thought it was very tasty, though I would say my 'Asian' vegetables were really regular vegetables + wombok. Not sure that counts as Asian, but it was still tasty. My companions had the porterhouse steaks ($24). Note that the steaks don't come with any side dishes and they must all be purchased extra for $5 each. However, there is a big range of side dishes (chips, vegetables, salads, 'Asian' vegetables etc). I thought the menu was a bit of fun - the seafood is in the 'No legs' section, poultry is in the 'Two legs' and steaks are under 'Four legs' (Only in Oz). Don't let that put you off, though; the restaurant actually has a bit of classy yet trendy vibe. There was quite a lot of street parking available and this place was walking distance from my hotel so it was in a good location. The waitress was lovely and efficient and more than happy for us to split the bill. Be warned - The restaurant isn't huge. We went on a Monday night and at about 7:30 they were turning people away. I later saw those people turned away eating at the bar so they didn't go far. Overall, I found the Heritage to be a pleasant and unexpected surprise, when I had the stereotypical thoughts that it was going to be an ordinary regional pub. I will definitely be coming back and it is likely where I will be taking my boss when she comes up! Cheers.

Yelp
Visited the Heritage, after hearing the local radio station giving it some air time. Unfortunately on the night i visited it was a bit of a let down. Food quality was good but had to wait nearly an hour before the first sign of anything to eat arrived, and believe me it was not a busy night. Will try again and see if they can redeem themselves.
