Lovely old school hotel. Rooms are dated but very large and air-conditioned. Everything you need, and nothing you don't. Lived up to expectations for three star accommodation. Beautiful on the balcony in the morning shade.

Enjoyed a steak with sweet potato chips and salad. Requested gluten-free options and was provided this option. Steak and chips were delicious.

Do NOT book. No elevator, 3 steep flights of stairs. No ensuite for AUD 100 single room. No onsite parking but advertised as free parking available - did not state street parking. No tissue. No telephone in the room for emergencies. No water but there is a kettle? Smells of smoke and alcohol. I wanted to say that at least it's clean. But when I lay on the bed it felt powdery. Turn on the lights, and you see dirt/dust/paint powder on the bed. Thank God for wet wipes. Otherwise I would have to venture to the shower again. It's like a horrible dorm at non-dorm pricing. Hence no star for the room. It's definitely not 3-star. 1-star or at the very most 2. Very bad value for money. Very regretful purchase.

I just love these old hotels with their antiquated aura. The bed was fine. The frig worked well enough to cool the milk. Everything was lovely, but I think the person the night before used the bin as a toilet. Yes it’s a walk to the toilets in shared facilities, but come on…that was just rude mate. Otherwise a beautiful hotel that is comfortable and clean except for said rubbish bin/toilet. Affordable on line but not walk in apparently. Magnificent hotel.

Came here on a Sunday evening with friends for dinner. They had a lovely menu, not too big (very good) and everything we ordered looked very nice. I ordered something small, the Bao Buns and happily surprised. Easy to eat with fingers, nice mango salsa and crunchy chicken thighs. A solid 4/5! 👌 The restaurant itself was good, we had live music which was nice and plenty of room. Food came out quickly even though we were a big group

They charge extra if you call in and don't disclose it (booking online is $70 for the same room). $220 for a small room, no private bathroom, and an uncomfortable bed. Staff claimed it was the owner's rules and nothing could be done about it. We wanted to eat downstairs, but the place was full and tables were reserved, which probably saved us from further disappointment. There's wifi, but it's too poor of a connection to use. On a side note, shops are closed on Sunday. Would not recommend.

Walked in on a Tuesday afternoon, it looked like they had one barman on, he was on the phone. After about 5 minutes of waiting to be served, left.

Beautiful building, great history. Adequate service and high prices.

Yelp
Four out of five unexpected delights! I went to this place when I was in Rocky recently and I was pleasantly surprised. The Heritage is situated right on the river. The décor was fun and cool and there is an outdoor area on the side facing the river. The restaurant is very definitely a restaurant and not a pub. Food is also available from the bar (i.e. a limited/smaller version of the restaurant menu). The food was all very nice - I had the eggplant parma ($18) with a side dish of wok tossed Asian vegetables ($5). I thought it was very tasty, though I would say my 'Asian' vegetables were really regular vegetables + wombok. Not sure that counts as Asian, but it was still tasty. My companions had the porterhouse steaks ($24). Note that the steaks don't come with any side dishes and they must all be purchased extra for $5 each. However, there is a big range of side dishes (chips, vegetables, salads, 'Asian' vegetables etc). I thought the menu was a bit of fun - the seafood is in the 'No legs' section, poultry is in the 'Two legs' and steaks are under 'Four legs' (Only in Oz). Don't let that put you off, though; the restaurant actually has a bit of classy yet trendy vibe. There was quite a lot of street parking available and this place was walking distance from my hotel so it was in a good location. The waitress was lovely and efficient and more than happy for us to split the bill. Be warned - The restaurant isn't huge. We went on a Monday night and at about 7:30 they were turning people away. I later saw those people turned away eating at the bar so they didn't go far. Overall, I found the Heritage to be a pleasant and unexpected surprise, when I had the stereotypical thoughts that it was going to be an ordinary regional pub. I will definitely be coming back and it is likely where I will be taking my boss when she comes up! Cheers.

Yelp
Visited the Heritage, after hearing the local radio station giving it some air time. Unfortunately on the night i visited it was a bit of a let down. Food quality was good but had to wait nearly an hour before the first sign of anything to eat arrived, and believe me it was not a busy night. Will try again and see if they can redeem themselves.
