Four out of five unexpected delights!
I went to this place when I was in Rocky recently and I was pleasantly surprised. The Heritage is situated right on the river. The décor was fun and cool and there is an outdoor area on the side facing the river. The restaurant is very definitely a restaurant and not a pub. Food is also available from the bar (i.e. a limited/smaller version of the restaurant menu).
The food was all very nice - I had the eggplant parma ($18) with a side dish of wok tossed Asian vegetables ($5). I thought it was very tasty, though I would say my 'Asian' vegetables were really regular vegetables + wombok. Not sure that counts as Asian, but it was still tasty. My companions had the porterhouse steaks ($24). Note that the steaks don't come with any side dishes and they must all be purchased extra for $5 each. However, there is a big range of side dishes (chips, vegetables, salads, 'Asian' vegetables etc).
I thought the menu was a bit of fun - the seafood is in the 'No legs' section, poultry is in the 'Two legs' and steaks are under 'Four legs' (Only in Oz). Don't let that put you off, though; the restaurant actually has a bit of classy yet trendy vibe.
There was quite a lot of street parking available and this place was walking distance from my hotel so it was in a good location. The waitress was lovely and efficient and more than happy for us to split the bill. Be warned - The restaurant isn't huge. We went on a Monday night and at about 7:30 they were turning people away. I later saw those people turned away eating at the bar so they didn't go far.
Overall, I found the Heritage to be a pleasant and unexpected surprise, when I had the stereotypical thoughts that it was going to be an ordinary regional pub. I will definitely be coming back and it is likely where I will be taking my boss when she comes up!
Cheers.
