Rendezvous Heritage Hotel Queenstown

We stayed at Rendezvous Heritage Hotel Queenstown for the first seven nights of our honeymoon, and our experience was beautiful from the moment we checked in. During our stay, the staff became familiar with us and were always so welcoming. Daily housekeeping was consistently completed, and we really appreciated the lovely welcome note and treats waiting for us when checked in. We had dinner at the hotel on our first night, and it was absolutely delicious a wonderful start to our stay! The hotel is location if wonderful with a pleasant downhill walk to town, and there is also a bus stop directly out the front, which was very convenient. Our room had a beautiful view of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables. Although we were on the first floor, we could occasionally hear other guests using their bathrooms, which was a little off putting. Breakfast was lovely each morning. Unfortunately, the coffee machine wasn’t working for five days of our stay, which was disappointing as my husband is quite particular about his coffee and urn coffee isn’t his usual choice so we would have to purchase from the bar. Overall, we had a wonderful and memorable stay during our honeymoon and would happily recommend this hotel.

we had a lovely stay, we got there at 10:50 in the evening from another hotel that was uninhabitable and their front desk staff (Jordan) was extremely helpful. he upgraded us into a premium room and the kinute we entered a subtle scent of vanilla welcomed us and our room was IMMACULATE and the view in the morning erased all the horrific experience from the previous hotel. their facilities were great and the breakfast spread was hearty and delicious. we’ll definitely book again and again and again :)

Super comfortable bed in a spacious room. Lots of staff who do a brilliant job. I rate the barista coffee as well. The steak was delicious and the breakfast was great too. Hand delivered, freshly cooked poached eggs was my highlight.

Very clean and well maintained, super comfy beds, staff on reception and in the restaurant were really friendly and helpful. Loved the personal note in our room. Great breakfast. Dinner was ok although overpriced for standard of food we received. We enjoyed the sauna but the spa pool needs to be bigger and the pool is unusable in winter. Good wifi and parking and a quiet, comfortable stay.

We stayed at Rendezvous Heritage Hotel New Zealand for three nights from 1 August in the Waterfall Building. Our room was clean, modern, cosy, and very relaxing. It was warm, had a balcony, and was a comfortable place to return to after a day out. Check-in was fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and effortless. Breakfast offered a wide selection of choices, and we especially enjoyed the dining area with its small fireplace. You can also sit by the window and admire the beautiful lake and the peaceful snow-covered mountains. Parking costs a little extra, but there is plenty of space. The parking bays are wide enough to comfortably get in and out of your car, even while wearing bulky snow gear, without worrying about scratching neighbouring vehicles. The location is excellent—only about a 15-minute walk from the busy town centre. The walk itself is enjoyable, following the lakeside along the Esplanade. The only unexpected issue happened at check-out when my debit card decided to confuse the old payment machine. The transaction was declined, but at the same time it charged about two-thirds of the amount. I didn't notice this immediately and paid the full amount again. I spoke to the manager, who was absolutely professional and clearly a master of her job. She asked for a couple of minutes, investigated not only the reception system but also the hotel's accounts, found the unusual transaction, and reversed it immediately. Within about 10 minutes, the money was back in my account. Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely yes. Great accommodation, excellent location, and outstanding customer service.

We had a wonderful two-night stay in the Lakeview Room. Everything was excellent throughout our stay. We came here to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and the team surprised us with a cake, which was a very thoughtful touch. Exceptional customer service — definitely 5/5.

I had a pleasant stay at Heritage Hotel Queenstown. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and comparable in size to what you typically find in Queenstown. The breakfast was also good, with a decent selection to start the day. One thing to keep in mind is parking. The hotel has limited parking relative to the number of rooms, so if the property is fully booked, finding a parking spot can be challenging. The hotel is located on a hillside in a quiet area, which is great if you're looking for a peaceful stay away from the crowds. However, it is about a 10-minute drive from the main town center. While the distance isn't significant during the day, it can feel inconvenient at night if you need to pick up something, grab a late meal, or simply want to spend time in the town center. Overall, it's a comfortable and well-maintained hotel with a good breakfast and peaceful surroundings. Just be aware of the parking limitations and the distance from the main Queenstown market and restaurants when planning your stay.

The Heritage Queenstown was once the best hidden secret in Queenstown, a 4 star hotel with 5 star hospitality & service, it is now a 4 star hotel with 3 star hospitality. On arrival I was asked if I had been there before to which I replied we have come here every year for the past 20 years! There is always notes in our room and some chocolates or a welcome back gift, on our 25th visit we were upgraded to a full suite with water views! The old Heritage has gone, I knew from the moment I walked in the door, it even smells unclean, the smell of dirt on grime. Our bedroom had wall scrapes and damage not repaired. Our heat pump filthy and struggling to put any heat out, it desperately needs a full service and clean. The under tile heating in our bathroom was switched off and cold, our room felt cold from the floor up which is a first. Our room was not serviced while we were out, one of our wet towels still on the floor. My husband went to make a coffee and found he was unable to use the job, someone had boiled milk in it eww! The old Heritage had class, this hotel is now falling into disrepair. Even a simple thing like most kids and families kept in a certain wing, older families in another, quiet and elderly/business people in another. There were kids constantly in our hallway, running up and down and crying. If your looking for a 3 star budget holiday in a place that no longer cares, then this is the holiday destination for you.
