Had dinner for the 2nd time here last night and it was divine! I got the burger last time and the salmon this time. Both were delicious but the salmon was exceptional. It was cooked perfectly. I was surprised to find parking easily both times too.

Google
Solo diners and cozy couples, I have found THE spot for you! This place is an absolutely wonderful restaurant! The staff is great. The food is absolutely amazing! The ambiance is what makes this place a cut above the rest though.

Google
The food is excellent. The service was excellent. The drinks were very well paired. We had the tasting menu + wine pairings and let me just say that I'd never regularly order a pea soup. But that's the beauty of prix fixe because you'll get the chef's recommendation instead of your preference. Yo that pea soup was amazing! The layers of flavors was so impressive. At first I was disappointed because the portion size seemed really small, but it was so loaded with flavor and just heavy enough that the portion size was actually ideal. Then I had the steak. I took a bite of the steak and immediately thought of the years ago when I lived in Texas and there was always a crispy char from the grill on your meat. The taste was really impressive. We also had the salad which was a highlight and then the following courses kept getting better. We ended with cookies and milk, which was delicious but not as impressive as everything else. Our server was a doll and was so fun. The bartending staff was cool and they nailed the old fashioned we ended with. Can't wait to go back!!

Google
Went for Spring restaurant week. Got the steak and salmon option. Started off with their salad - yummy. Next is the pea soup - also yummy. Not as grainy as some pea soups can be. Steak made well with the aoili dipping sauce. Salmon also nicely made. Kids meal has a salt & pepper option. Dessert was a lemon pound cake which was a bit disappointing. Was dense and a bit too tart for me. Rustic setting. Definitely prefer the back near the fire place.

Google
Heritage restaurant and bar has phenomenal farm to table food. The quality is outstanding. They go above and beyond for their customers. I would highly recommend this quaint restaurant in our inner Richmond District.

Google
Stopped by for dinner the other night and had a lovely meal at Heritage. Always passed by this spot but finally had a chance to sit down and give it a try. Ordered some drinks and sides (passion fruit glazed wings + garlic fries + broccoli cheddar soup) as well as the prime beef bolognese. All items delivered in flavor and particularly enjoyed the garlic fries that were exceptional. Finished it off with some of the chocolate chip cookies with Tahitian vanilla milk that was a nice way to end the meal! Will be coming back to try their other items next time, and they do offer a tasting menu if you’d like to try a bit of everything!

Google
The salmon tasted good but was extremely out of norm with the price and the restaurant was empty when we went. The steak was similarly overpriced and I felt it was just OK.

Google
The vibe of the space is fine. It's nice inside with lots of room. But we were 1 of 3 groups and my order is was wrong in three ways which sorta left a bad taste in my mouth. Food was okay. Nothing was horrible but I also probably won't go back :( - ordered bacon on the burger, didn't get bacon (and was fine with it cuz I was hungry and didn't wanna wait or waste food), but was charged for it. Had to ask for it to be removed ($3). No big deal and they did it. - ordered medium well for the burger and got rare. Which I am okay with for steaks but ground meat not so much. - ordered corn bread as apatetizer didn't get it. Had to ask for it after we got our meal. Look, I ain't tryna hurt no one. This is just an honest review of what happened. Could have been a bad day.

Yelp
I was trying to track down a Maillard smash burger and remembered they do a Tuesday pop up somewhere. That's how I found Heritage. I thought the menu looked broad enough to satisfy everyone so we went out for an early dinner. We arrived at a nice quiet time where the toddlers wouldn't seem as disruptive. Had the pasta with sausage (outstanding), pork belly, salmon, and steak. Everything tasted great. The staff were super friendly and happy to help us keep the kids entertained and accommodated, which was much appreciated. We ended with cookies and milk that hit the spot. I lived in this hood over a decade ago and wish it was there when I was looking for a great happy hour or a reliable spot to take friends. It looks like it is exactly that for the other folks there who seemed like regulars. Looking forward to another family dinner (or maybe sneaking over for happy hour on a slow work day)

Yelp
Came here for dinner with family and didn't order drinks as I was on a diet. Despite it being a bar, it has more of classy family friendly restaurant vibe with bar service. I saw other families with small children eating and even playing in a mock play area. Also had couples just chatting and enjoying their meals. Service was quick and friendly. We opted for family style to share and they pulled it off without a hitch. I ordered two appetizers followed by three entrees. Steaks, roast salmon and a pasta dish. All were flavorful and had unique and interesting sides. I thought every thing tasted perfect but the rest of my party thought it was a touch too salty so keep that in mind.
google avatar

Amy W.

Yelp
The bartenders are rude and ignore you even at a half empty bar. Then they come back bc they forgot your order. DO come here for the Tuesday Pop up of Maillards burgers.

Yelp
Love this place! It's cozy, great decor, a roaring fireplace in the back, fabulous window seats/booths in front, delicious food (including a chef's tasting menu) and amazing cocktails! Avoid the Sunday crowds after farmer's market and head a few blocks down here for brunch - you won't be sorry. My new favorite neighborhood spot!
google avatar

Millie K.

Yelp
On a Thursday night with my family here sitting at the bar without a reservation. Bartender Jay was attentive and drinks were good! We had the garlic fries and chicken wings as appetizer. They were both on point and the chicken wings were specially tasty. We each ordered entrees on their hamburger, steak and duck breast. All were satisfying.

Jack L.

Yelp
I never leave reviews but with the amazing experience I had here I had to! It's a Perfect date spot. A table by the fireplace, the music and amazing food and wine....the pork chop was perfectly seared and paired so well with the red wine...will definitely be back! If the owner is reading this, give Jay a raise! That guy is awesome and went above and behind to make sure that my table received impeccable service our whole visit! 10/10

Yelp
Ok the kale pasta might look weird, but it's actually really good! I hope I'm not the only fan of it! It's really the cheese and the pistachios that really make the dish too. Or maybe the fried kale chip. So delish!

Yelp
I booked a reservation to catch up with some of my oldest friends and younger sister. Before we even got to the restaurant my sister looked up the menu and texted me "this restaurant and its menu is EXACTLY what I need" and she wasn't wrong! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, plus their recommendations are spot on! My steak was cooked perfectly and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. The creamed spinach was super well done with the spinach still tasting fresh and bright and the potato cake had a great consistency with a smoky flavor. My sister and my friend really enjoyed their pork chops (thanks for the recommendation Chris!!) and my other friend loved the housemade tagliatelle prime beef bolognese. We ordered cocktails that were balanced and tasty and we were grateful that the restaurant allowed us to bring in a bottle of wine. All in all, I'm excited to return to try brunch or the tuesday pop up!

Yelp
So glad to have this gem in the Inner Richmond! Don't be worried that this is just a bar establishment. The food and the service was top notch and we were very happy with how family friendly it is. The kids menu has wonderful selections like steak, chicken and pasta - which are just smaller portions of the adult entrée items but tweaked just a little bit for the children's palate. We had the tasting menu and felt it was a great value at $48 for 4 courses. The soup was a summer corn soup which was delicious, the watermelon salad was fresh and a great combination of flavors, we loved the NY strip and the dessert was 2 big warm chocolate cookies with a vanilla milk for dipping. Wonderful and highly recommend. Wish there were more restaurants like this in the hood.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
I really appreciate this place. It's warm, cozy, and comforting, and the staff and environment are so welcoming to my young kids. My spouse and I reliably get to sit and enjoy our meals and a good cocktail while our kids happily devour their kid friendly options. They have a regular kids' movie night on Thursdays which we haven't tried yet but seems like a unique option. And I love the seasonal changes to their menu!
google avatar

Will D.

Yelp
Drink menu said draft beers were $7 but then somehow there was another copy of the same menu and the draft price on that was $9? Weird. Cocktail prices on both menus were $14. Nine bucks for a draft in a plastic cup that wasn't even filled all the way up is pretty trash honestly. Not really sure why you're wasting plastic unless your bar tender is just too lazy to wash glasses. But I guess at 9 bucks for 12 ounces of beer I'm paying for the cup. No wonder the bar industry is dying.. smh Burgers are tasty but they're minuscule in stature. Basically a 12 dollar slider.

Yelp
We tried brunch for the 1st time. The menu looked good. Nice neighborhood place; not crowded. Our waitress was very nice. The food was pretty good (could have been warmer). Will add this into our rotation.

Yelp
This place is unassuming from the outside, but it's a must try!! Their food is delicious- the tomato soup on a chilly night hits the spot. Their cocktails and drink selections are also a hit!

Yelp
Been a while, but came for a recent visit with the whole family to celebrate mom's birthday. We arrived a little early, but were seated quickly. Most of us already knew we were going to go for the Chef's tasting menu ($48), which included: 1) Heritage Wedge Salad - no complaints since Wedge salad happens to be one of my faves. Love the pickled onions. 2) Summer Tomato Soup - probably my fave. So flavorful and creamy. Would've loved another bowl. 3) Pan Roasted Salmon or New York Steak - hubs and I got one of each so we could share. Portions were generous. Love the crispy skin of the salmon and that lemon sauce. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Hubs liked the potatoes. Both were very good. 4) Milk and cookies - each plate came with a little cup of vanilla milk and 2 warm cookies. Chocolate chip, which is the hubs' fave. Best way to end the meal. Must note, we also appreciated the Kids Menu offerings ($12), and the fact that they brought the kids' meals out way in the beginning to ensure they were fed so the rest of us could enjoy our dining experience. Given our large party, food took some time to come out but we understood time was needed to prepare the meals so that they all arrive at the same time. Services was also good in that they kept our water glasses full and checked on us often. We did not feel rushed at any time. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. Can't wait to return again.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in the Inner Richmond, hands down! Heritage is such a cozy, beautifully decorated restaurant with stellar food, ranging from garlic fries to NY steak. And the cocktail bar is phenomenal. Cameron, the owner, was even nice enough to give me the recipe for my favorite drink, A Brave New World. Can't wait to come back. Pro tip- if you have a party of 4-6ish, ask for their back room!
google avatar

Yelp
A cozy, warm ambiance with a large beautiful fireplace featured inside the restaurant. Great spot for a special occasion or date night. The food was solid and delicious. Service was friendly and most excellent.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
Intended to arrive for Happy Hour (ends at 5pm), however didn't make in time so we decided to partake in dinner, which was okay. We had watermelon salad (one of my faves), pork belly noodle (of course the fried belly was the star), and Prime Flatiron (cooked med, asked for med rare). Recommend Happy Hour. On the fence about dinner. Kudos to the service. :)

Yelp
Always a warm welcome here from owners and staff! It's a treat to sit in front of the warm fireplace and treat yourself to the Chef's Tasting Menu and enjoy a cocktail (Manhattan)! I was lucky enough to be served their double deliciousness they served NYE...the steak and salmon! Accompanied by salad, soup and a new dessert...chocolate truffle cake with creme fraiche and blueberries We'll definitely be back!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Perfection. This is the Heritage Restaurant's corn soup. If you have a bucket list put this soup on it. The owner has a history with Wolfgang Puck he took the knowledge to heart in all he does at the restaurant. The food, the wine are all well chosen and created by masters.
google avatar

Kristin S.

Yelp
Come here! Quick to be sat. Great food! Server was with us right away. Really nice atmosphere. The food and wine was delightful. The roast chicken was large enough to share. They offered to split it for us, which they usually don't do, but they were just so nice. I am surprised at how empty it was. We've been twice now and I there no wait... don't want this one to fail!
google avatar

Yelp
Went with my mother a few months back and I definitely want to go again! It was around $100 for two (one steak and one tasting menu) but the food was delicious. The steak was very tender with very good flavor and the mashed potatoes with the sauce is very good. My mom enjoyed the tomato soup and the salad as well. The service was a little slow considering there weren't too many people but it was honestly worth the wait.

Alyson ..

Yelp
Everything is delicious! Favorite thing this time was the sweet purple yams. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Was really looking forward to visiting Heritage as my husband came here with coworkers a few months ago and raved about how fantastic the food was. The restaurant had a homey feel and the staff was warm, friendly and incredibly engaging. I loved that about our visit, but unfortunately the food was really underwhelming. We weren't aware the menu changes daily and certain menu options at the time my husband first visited were unavailable this time around. I was really looking forward to trying the fried chicken and panic ordered the cheeseburger since I didn't see anything else I wanted to try. That was my mistake, lol. I should've ordered anything on the menu other than the burger. We started with the Spicy Mango BBQ wings ($17). These were hands down the best item we ordered. The sauce was tangy, sweet and had a hint of spice, I would order them again, but would ask for them crispy next time. The Heritage Burger ($21) + ($3) to add bacon was typical standard fare, the kind of burger you'd find at a high priced tourist trap, okay, but not great. I requested it cooked medium but it was on the dry side and really lacked flavor, not sure if the patty was seasoned at all. I've eaten a better burger from Super Duper Burger if I'm being completely honest and it was certainly not worth $24. The fries were good though, they were well seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My husband ordered the prime flat iron steak ($32) medium rare. The steak was very chewy and literally lacked any kind of seasoning, at all. The veggies were the highlight of the plate. Bummer. We skipped dessert as neither of the 2 options stood out. I hate giving reviews like this, but felt it was accurate of our experience. Again, loved the ambience and the neighborhood feel, I would give Heritage another shot based on that alone and would just steer clear of those 2 items.

Yelp
Great ambiance especially if you can score the table by the fireplace; date night!!! Outstanding service! The staff were so friendly. We had two kids in our group and they helped in making sure the kids had equal portions (one meal didn't come with fries, the other did, they split the fries up so the kids never knew!) And once we finished our meal and paid they didn't rush us out. They actually kept filling out water. We asked if we should leave and they appreciated that but said we could stay longer, no problem. Ok now for the food. The Brussel sprouts were so good. It was a mix of Asian and Cajun flavors but it worked! Fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection. BUT here's why they get a 4 star. The cheeseburger lacked flavor. The meat seemed unseasoned and the sauce didn't really have much going on. If they had used the Cajun sauce from the Brussels the burger would have been a major hit. The others in my group enjoyed their food, so it be worth going back to try something else. The stellar staff and cool vibes make this a great place to visit. Hit or miss on the flavors though.

Yelp
Solid food. But it was not foodie food. Quality ingredients and cooking, but not something my partner, who is a very good cook, could not have made at home. Service was unsophisticated and very casual. This is more of a neighborhood joint in my mind than a destination restaurant.

Bill D.

Yelp
Excellent food and atmosphere Friendly staff, informative and helpful Innovative dishes, tremendously tasty Highly recommended when in San Francisco and near the Richmond district
google avatar

Yelp
All around beautiful experience! Amazing food and even better hospitality! A real neighborhood gem.

Yelp
One of my Birthday ventures. I had the three course meal deal. It was amazing well the food. The pairing could of been of better quality wine, not something I could easy buy at Safeway. All in all I was one of the parties their it was a very chill quiet night. Ate my dinner at the table, then later moved to the fireplace for desert. The bartender is cool, and I even got a chance to meet the owner/chef. I would return but this time I'll skip the pairing, however the food is excellent

Effie L.

Yelp
Excellent meal tonight at the Heritage Restaurant & Bar. We chose the Chef's menu that included the pomegranate, beet and goat cheese salad, tomato soup, Grilled Steak with mash potatoes and spinach, and warm chocolate chip cookies with milk. All for a really good price. We had the best service. Very happy and highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice neighborhood restaurant and bar. A little more upscale as their menu reflects more than burgers and fries. Lovely to dine in or sit outside (heat lamp available on chilly evenings.)

Yelp
Friendly staff, delicious food and great cocktails, have eaten here several times now, highly recommend, nice low key atmosphere .

Yelp
Came to Heritage since my friend wanted to take me out to celebrate my birthday. I forget what this place used to be since I used to live in the Richmond district for almost a decade when I first moved to SF, but it is now almost another decade. The vibe here feel pretty local and great. Folks were enjoying the Giants vs Dodgers game on the TV. It was a nice dose of nostalgia of the Richmond district community feel. The cocktails and appetizers were great. Apparently the table my friend and I sat on had old menus, so we had to switch out one of our order from the new menu. Regardless, the garlic fries and the pork belly skewers were tasty. There was a father with two kids enjoying their milk & cookies desert across from our table (kudos to that Dad, the kids looked very happy). My friend and I both ordered the steak (prime flatiron stake) dinner medium rare. After our first bite, we both put our utensils down and agreed that our steaks were both cold and very chewy. The server was quick to understand something was wrong as my friend and I stopped eating. The server took it back and brought us out another serving, so it was a nice gesture as it was not his fault, but it was a hard stop for us. I'd say this is still a great neighborhood restaurant, and likely most people won't experience what we did. I was simply sad that my friend took me out for a bday dinner that was anticlimactic.

Yelp
This place is great! They have a full bar and a cozy atmosphere, as well as an amazing Chef's Tasting Menu for $39 - $44. We've been here twice so far; for both times, we made a reservation and were seated promptly. The food was pretty good. I especially liked the tomato soup - I didn't even know I liked tomato soup until I had this one! The main dish was good, but the rest of the dishes were really quite amazing. We'll definitely be back!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Hello. The atmosphere was ok ish but also 30 dollars pasta you can assemble at home...
google avatar

Yelp
My new favorite restaurant to eat at on the way back home to Sonoma County. I ordered the chefs menu. The Caesar was delicious, my salmon was crispy with yummy sweet teriyaki asparagus, the Most Delicious potatoes I have ever eaten & a couple yummy cookies for dessert! A cute date night spot there are window seats & fireside seats. The music was funky & on point too. My friend & I both said we'd be back. The food did take a looong time to come out though. We were there 2 hours which was fine we weren't in a hurry that day but had we been, it would have been stressful.

Annabel F.

Yelp
Branzino was fantastic!! Also loved blue cheese salad . Cozy atmosphere highly recommend!!
google avatar

Kayla N.

Yelp
A warm and inviting atmosphere! Feels like a neighborhood restaurant so expect a more laidback vibe. Really kind service and waitstaff. The fresh baked cookies are too die for and the pasta bolognese was tasty. Got the garlic fries and Brussels sprouts as sides. The cauliflower soup was more watery than we expected, but delish. Some croutons or bread to go with it would have been a nice plus. Would go back to try the burger!
google avatar

Daw M.

Yelp
Ready for a lazy review? Ambience: romantic feels with the low dark lighting. Customer service: 5 stars! Food quality: 3.5 stars- Food portion/quality to price ratio I felt was not proportional (tad too pricey) therefore 4 stars overall. Parking: the worse lol but it's SF Full bar! So that's a plus! If you're doing the set dinner, definitely add the extras! When you're sharing it's definitely not enough food. Had to order side plates to fill up. Would I come back? Probably for occasions only. Nice to just try for the first time, though! But definitely won't be a regular.

Yelp
I arrived at opening on a Sunday (3pm) and was seated right away. I ordered the Chef's Tasting Menu and enjoyed the meal tremendously. I found the food tasty and well proportioned for a four course dining experience. According to my receipt, my server's name was Matt and he was especially kind, humorous, and prompt. He told me the potatoes would take longer to make for the steak and suggested I sub the polenta for them if time was an issue. The polenta was delightful. So creamy and paired well with the meat and veggies. Matt also kept me informed about the potential rain (I requested outdoor seating) and got me out before it came down. Overall I loved the food and the experience. $39 for the Tasting Menu feels more than fair for the value of the meal.

Yelp
I love finding excellent neighborhood restaurants like this. I especially love it when they have an anachronistic decor (Heritage is like an old train station) and fabulous rustic cooking that makes you feel right at home. I came here on a Sunday night and wanted to try their tasting menu. At $42 ($50 to include the pasta and soup course), it's probably one of the more affordable tasting menus in the city but it did not disappoint. I consider this food rustic fine dining - the portions are generous and the flavors are just spot on. The meal started with a deconstructed egg salad crostini that came with a baby cherry tomato salad with Burrata. Just fabulous. The middle course was a hearty portion of tagliatelle bolognese with the soup. The pasta was nice and al dente and the soup was creamy. At this point, I was already feeling close to full. The main entree was a surf and turf - pan-seared brazino and the rib-eye cap. Both were perfectly cooked. The meal ended with milk and cookies for dessert, which only seemed appropriate for this experience. My non-alcoholic pairings for the evening were a ginger beer and the house lemonade (highly recommended). Service was really on point and the whole dining experience was exceptional for this price range. With tax and tip, this was $80, which is a bargain as far as this menu goes. Highly recommended!!! It's definitely worth the trip to Clement street.

Yelp
Amazing food and a wonderful place for dinner. Brought friends from out of town and can't want to come back and eat at Heritage again.

Yelp
This was our first time here. My daughter put salmon in the search bar and we followed the directions to this quiet little place, we would not have found it otherwise. The food was fantastic.

Yelp
Great cocktails, great food, great service. Will definitely be back. Thanks Heritage!

Yelp
A big shout out to Greg and team for the amazing service at our neighbors dinner last night! I hadn't had the salmon before and it was incredible. Perfect pan-seared crust on top and tender as could be inside. Spinach puree was just scrumptious We were SO fortunate to have the back room for our event -- private space, but still with the benefits of the fireplace view (not to mention the warmth on a frigid SF night) and you don't feel isolated because of the glass windows surrounding the space. Cameron's food, as always, prepared to perfection, with delightful farm to table ingredients. Hand made pastas were a hit, and the meats were cooked perfectly to order. So happy to have become regulars of this local gem.
google avatar

Leilani B.

Yelp
It was my 1st time in Heritage last night. WOW this place has got so much character. I loved the atmosphere and layout of the venue. It kind of looks like the shape of an old military hangar or theater. They have an excellent selection of alcohol and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Service was very friendly but slow. (Took 30 minutes to get our 1st cocktail). Food was excellent. I suggest the Salmon, Flat iron steak, corn "ribs", shishito peppers. This is a great neighborhood gem and I look forward to coming back.

Yelp
My group of three wanted one last drink before we parted ways. I yelped places in my neighborhood and found Heritage Restaurant & Bar. We walked in on Wednesday, May 9th at 9:45pm. The place wasn't too busy. A few groups here and there. We easily found three seats at the bar. We all ended up ordering the Catcher in the Rye: rye, punt e mes, amaro, grapefruit bitters ($13). The cocktail fit the bill for a last round. Good for sipping and easy to drink. The atmosphere was very casual and chill. Lots of wood decor, so a very homey type of feeling. Our bartender was also very attentive and sweet. I can't speak much on the food as the kitchen was closed when we arrived, but a nice spot for one last round.

Yelp
Happy to see that the space formerly occupied by the Clement Street Bar and Grill has been transformed into a chic, clean new restaurant. Last night I finally had the chance to check it out. At first glance from the street, the space looked relatively empty, but once inside, we could see that the bar space and many of the tables at the back of the restaurant were occupied by a congenial crowd. The fireplace in the back of the dining room added a warm, cozy vibe to the updated, streamlined decor and was a welcome sight on a damp and foggy night. As for the food, I enjoyed the roasted chicken ($24) with cranberry beans and Brussels sprouts. The chicken was succulent with a crisp skin topped by sprigs of toasted rosemary and the sprouts were nice and fresh. My date went with the hamburger - a bit pricy but the high quality warranted the $17 price tag. Speaking of pricy, the wine list was a bit up there, with the cheapest bottle clocking in at $48. I settled for a $13 glass of Lipstick on a Pig, a blend from California. Very nice with a dry finish. Great, friendly service from our waiter James, who gave us the skinny on the Happy Hour - 3-6pm Everyday! Definitely pleased with this new addition to the neighborhood and will be back for happy hour.

Yelp
The vibes here are !! Good food, good drinks, kind and interesting servers, great decor and ambiance. You can have a cozy by the fire experience in the back, or watch the warriors at the high tops towards the front. A new favorite!
