Was really looking forward to visiting Heritage as my husband came here with coworkers a few months ago and raved about how fantastic the food was. The restaurant had a homey feel and the staff was warm, friendly and incredibly engaging. I loved that about our visit, but unfortunately the food was really underwhelming.
We weren't aware the menu changes daily and certain menu options at the time my husband first visited were unavailable this time around. I was really looking forward to trying the fried chicken and panic ordered the cheeseburger since I didn't see anything else I wanted to try. That was my mistake, lol. I should've ordered anything on the menu other than the burger.
We started with the Spicy Mango BBQ wings ($17). These were hands down the best item we ordered. The sauce was tangy, sweet and had a hint of spice, I would order them again, but would ask for them crispy next time.
The Heritage Burger ($21) + ($3) to add bacon was typical standard fare, the kind of burger you'd find at a high priced tourist trap, okay, but not great. I requested it cooked medium but it was on the dry side and really lacked flavor, not sure if the patty was seasoned at all. I've eaten a better burger from Super Duper Burger if I'm being completely honest and it was certainly not worth $24. The fries were good though, they were well seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
My husband ordered the prime flat iron steak ($32) medium rare. The steak was very chewy and literally lacked any kind of seasoning, at all. The veggies were the highlight of the plate. Bummer. We skipped dessert as neither of the 2 options stood out.
I hate giving reviews like this, but felt it was accurate of our experience. Again, loved the ambience and the neighborhood feel, I would give Heritage another shot based on that alone and would just steer clear of those 2 items.
