"There could not be a more cliché German layover meal, and I am totally okay with that. With family who live in Poland and Romania, I have spent countless hours at Frankfurt Airport, a popular transfer hub for flights to Eastern Europe. No matter the time of the morning (yes, morning), day, or night, if I’m in the Frankfurt Airport, I’m getting a bratwurst. And ideally, I’m getting one at Hermann’s. It’s typically served on a crunchy roll with a side of sauerkraut and, of course, that perfectly spicy-but-not-too-spicy mustard. The main Hermann’s outpost is near gate A24, but a couple Hermann’s carts throughout the airport serve a pared-down to-go menu that includes frankfurters (another great option). At the fast-casual storefront, beer is served alongside a selection of sausages such as the pork-based bratwurst, the Berlin specialty currywurst (with spicy curry ketchup), frankfurters (German hot dogs, but better than ours), rindswurst (a beef sausage that reminds me a bit of Polish sausage), and bockwurst (made of pork and veal). Sides include potatoes, pickles, pretzels, coleslaw, and sauerkraut. It’s a simple yet hardy meal that will put you on the path to satisfied stomach success, no matter where you’re headed. —MB" - Michelle Baran

HOTEL DU LAC IS a comfy home away from home, with spacious bedrooms, meeting halls, dining and lobby area; tasty foods, caring and supportive staff, beautiful and scenic views. It is close to the lake of Ioannina, city centers with walking and biking options.

We have bought beef wurst and because it was without drink the staff told us that we are not allowed to sit there at their tables ( without any explanation, but in a rude way). This is a bad customer experience since we have bought from them. Please improve your service. Danke!!

Got the Currywurst here, quite nice but surprisingly spicy. The staff here are very kind. Overall this place provides good vibes, would highly recommend it. Big shoutout to Igor - really polite, really good service and really funny. Definitely deserves a raise.

Due to long layover, I slept in a lounging area at the airport. I was very happy to find this simple and nutritious breakfast item on the menu - avocado and egg toast. It's a relatively sizeable serving which was more than I needed.

Good food, great service! There aren't a lot of seats.

The place is nice. Service is good and staff is very friendly. Prices are normal airport prices. The food is delicious and the beer is great. If you have a connection flight and not much time I suggest this place for a quick bite.

Can’t resist having a german sausage passing by Frankfurt Airport 😂 Had a giant Bockwurst. It was great, not too salty or overwhelming. Just nice for a quick bite. 🌭 A satisfying break after all the airport security hassle!

Yelp
If you want something to eat at Frankfurt airport, there are lots of bakeries. I decided on an original frankfurter from Herman's. The "dog" has a different flavor than what you find in the States. They are much longer and I like the flavor better. Hard to describe...the casing is thinner. They put it on basically a round, hard roll. I hit mustard on it I asked about relish but they didn't know what that was. When I explained it's pickles chopped up, they gave me a pickle, too. I also got Apfel Direktsaft which I assumed was apple juice. It is apple but has fizz to it. I shook the bottle before I opened. Yeah, went all over the table. Americans are so sheltered.

Yelp
I was eyeing this spot on my inbound journey but ran out of time. Outbound and It was 9:30 am and I thought do I really want a Wurst for breakfast? It's a food stand with coffee, some sandwiches, pretzels, soft drinks and I saw a couple of cans of beer. (Too early for that although it's 5 o'clock somewhere) 3 types of Frankfurters and I thought the skinny ones on display were the Beef ones. The Rindswurst ended up being a jumbo. You have the French fried onions and pickles as toppings along with mustard, ketchup & mayo (yes mayo-this is DE). I got the works. The bun was soft and the Rindswurst had that perfect snap and slight smoke/salty. Toppings and condiments balanced it out! The kind Lady that helped me was upbeat and engaging. They have a few stands -I saw a couple in the Z 18-25 gates area. Breakfast of champions?! Maybe-when in DE....

Yelp
While there are not many options in the Z terminal of the Frankfurt airport, I would probably avoid this one. I watched them put gross panini pizzas stacked on top of each other I don't even know how long they've been sitting there, I had a very dry caprese sandwich and every table was dirty. If there were other options I would love that!

Yelp
I got a hot dog from their cart in Z Gates. They have several different hot dogs (among other things). I went with one of the big sausages made from beef and pork. It's fast food, but I thought it was very good. Particularly, the casing had really nice texture. Aldo, the lady who helped me was very nice and helpful. If you have a layover at Frankfurt Airport, I suggest that you give them a try.

Yelp
Hermann's is super affordable, tastes better than many other fast food options available at the Frankfurt airport, service is fast and friendly, all around a great choice! There're snacks, pretzels, bottled water and other drinks, and hot dogs that are really very good, especially coming from the fast food cart. Don't hesitate.

Frank L.

Yelp
Best Frankfurter was of course in Frankfurt. OK it was Hermann's food cart at Frankfurt airport. Not where you would expect to find the best of anything. Germany, Lufthansa, Frankfurt, Hermann's... Awesome. Now how can we get sausages like that here in the USA??? Lidl, Aldi? My BBQ is waiting. If you see Hermann's at the airport don't hesitate to give them a try.

Yelp
Not sure what to say. Fast food frankfurter in Frankfurt. Well I was not disappointed. I have tried slower food sausage in this airport and can say no difference. The sausages are all perfect. Excellent smoke and texture, just a tad of mustard and it's all good. This is the fastest option.

Yelp
Snagged a pretzel waiting on a connecting flight, I'm sure there's better options but it served its purpose. Pretzel was OK.

Boyche B.

Yelp
Refused to serve. We asked to order several times and was told to sit down and they never took our order. Served 18 people while we sat. Left with no food. The male cashier was extremely rude even took orders over my head as if I didn't exist.

Steve P.

Yelp
For a simple, quick hot dog and coffee. You can't beat the convenience. Even though it's a food cart, there's plenty of seating adjacent to it. Sit and watch the people go by.

Ann F W.

Yelp
Very mean vendor at Gate Z66 at Frankfurt Airport. I tried to take a picture of a "giant German pretzel" for my young nephew. What I got? A 5-Minute lecture about how rude I was and had to ask permission first. No kidding, 5-minutes. When I sat down, with all the passengers staring, one lady told me that in Germany, people like him are known as "donkeys." I decided not to buy the pretzel after all.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
This was exactly what I needed today! I had a layover at the airport and was craving soup. Their basic soup of the day includes a couple slices of yummy bread. Today's soup was split lean with ham. I am so glad I stumbled across this.

Shila B.

Yelp
One of the most awesome sandwich shops in the airport for a meat and cheese based sandwich on rustic artisan bread. There are many of these kinds of places in the airport and we tried this and others. Customer service was friendly and the prices were fair. Lots of guilty pleasure fast food that doesn't taste like fast food.
