The food was actually much better than I remembered from a few years ago, and of course the view was fabulous as ever. The vegan buffet offered a big variety of foods, from cold to warm, stew to grill. As a buffet, the quality was definitely worth the price. All the pickles and sauces tasted homemade. The lasagna was creamy but not heavy, the coconut curry was flavorful, the salads were fresh. My favorite was the grilled tofu, the marination got properly into the tofu, and offered the slightly burnt aroma from the grill.

What a wonderful hidden gem! Great views over Stockholm, completely vegan, and very tasty Indian, Middle East / Northern African buffet style food (with some Italian plates as well). Great salad bar!! And absolutely wonderful value for money!

Google
What a delightful lunch! The food was spectacular. The variety, the quality and the deliciousness of each of the dishes made me go back again and again. It's a great value, since it's an all you can eat buffet. This includes basic tea, coffee and water. It's definitely worth a visit when you are in Stockholm!

I went to Hermans for lunch two days in a row on my recent trip to Stockholm, as I loved it so much. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to me a solo diner. The buffet consisted of a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, and was beautifully presented - it was clear that a lot of love and care had gone into making it. My favourite dishes were the coleslaw, lasagne, houmous, lentil curry, yellow rice, mustard potatoes, 'cheddar' spread, pesto sauce, orzo salad and taco salad. For the amount of choice and the quality of the food, I thought it was very good value - it only cost slightly more than what you'd pay for just one dish in the UK. You definitely won't leave hungry, but also won't feel unwell afterwards, as nothing is heavy or greasy. I've been trying to copy some of the dishes at home, but they haven't been as good as at Hermans, so I hope they release a recipe book!

This restaurant offers a fantastic view of the bay of Stockholm, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, with soothing background music. The vegan food selection is incredible, with a huge variety of options. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet at a very affordable price, making it an excellent choice for both quality and value. There are around 10 different salads and 8 delicious main courses to choose from or mix. To top it off, they serve fresh bread with an amazing olive dip or herb butter. A perfect addition to the meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food in a beautiful setting!

Google
The view is pretty! The food was a let down. Flavours could have been much better. Vegan food does not need to be flavour less. The chana dal was really terrible. It’s essentially several salads and one type of bread and few warm potatoes and warm dish. Buffet does not include any desserts. We had to purchase them separately. It’s quite overpriced for the quality and the choices. Legumes (though not with a water facing view) is a far better choice on the same Island.

Absolutely delightful, well worth the money for the view alone, the food is delicious, free tea and coffee, the selection is vast and ever topped up, you must come here.

Google
Amazing food and great selection of food. The food is very tasty, it's a buffet so you pick what you like but it's unlikely you'll find food you don't like. They even have a student discount which is a good bonus

Yelp
Really great food for being vegan. They have a lot of different options, and the buffet is really pretty cheap for the amount of food that you have access to. You can't beat the view on the water. It was really quite lovely and we were there during sunset so it was just really pleasant to enjoy dinner while looking out and seeing the beauty of Stockholm. I'm not even a vegetarian and I left plenty full.

Leo U.

Yelp
I enjoyed it very much and I'm not even vegan. The system is very easy to understand. The food display is very impressive. I like the colour profile and variety. My only complaint is there are so many things that I can't enjoy everything in a single visit unless you stuff you strategically cut down the portion size for everything or stuff yourself (which fails the "enjoyment" part). I might come back whilst I'm in Stockholm... (It took me a while to figure out, but you take the stairs to the lower level to find this place.)

Yelp
Because we had a vegetarian in the group, a friend recommended Hermans, an all you can eat vegetarian buffet, which sits on the harbor between Södermalm and Gamla Stan near the Slusson Station. Although our group is predominately meat eaters, we were all surprised by the buffet selection at Hermans and how much we enjoyed the taste of the food. With that said, my mouth did feel like the food had MSG. After eating, there were several desserts available for purchase, so we purchased all of them. Included in the buffet is coffee and tea. If you sit in the right room, you get a view of the harbor; otherwise, no view. However, if you intend to sit and talk for a while, this is an ideal restaurant to do so as no one is rushing you out.

Yelp
Amazing location with A spectacular view of Stockholm. I recently lived in a flat around the corner for 2 weeks in June. I have lived in LA the Vegan capital of the world for 30 years but was actually born in this area! I was so pleasantly surprised with your restaurant and vegan buffet and of course view and everything else. No alcohol but who needs alcohol it makes you fat and gives you cancer! I brought my family here and told all my American friends who are touristing in Stockholm summer!

Tone B.

Yelp
Outdoor patio with beautiful views. Inside seating available as well both with and without views. Food is self served with many varieties, mostly cold but also some hot. Many flavors.

Olivia K.

Yelp
First of all, one of the few things I've noticed about Stockholm while visiting was that it's very vegan friendly. While traveling around, I loved all the vegan foods that I've come across. So, it was quite fitting to try my first vegan buffet here... and let me tell you, it was a pretty awesome dinner! LOCATION This vegan buffet spot is located in the Katarina-Sofia area near the Fotografiska (photography) museum. The store itself can be ignored if you aren't actively looking for it because it appears hidden and you have to walk down an narrow path to even get to the entrance. But, it's worth the visit. It overlooks the water and grona lund. At sunset, it's such a pretty view outside. SEATING My friend and I walked in around 6-7pm. We walked into a pretty packed dining area. Some tables are very long and some are meant for only 2 or 4 people. It can be hard at times to find seating esp with a larger group. People do tend to linger to talk & eat as much as they could. But luckily with a party of 2, we found seats after a few minutes of searching at the end of a longer table. PRICING Considering you can probably find meals at a similar price range that aren't buffets, I would say that the pricing is pretty good/fair here. They even offer student discount if you have your student id card on hand, which I had wish I had known earlier... In order to pay, you head inside to the counter. After paying, the cashier hands you a plate in which you can head into the buffet area to begin your stacking of food. VEGAN BUFFET They have a big variety of vegan foods available and I believe it changes everyday. I'm not a vegan myself, but I loved almost everything that they offered when I went. I found myself going back & forth for more food. It was much better than I expected and I ate until my stomach was bloated. DRINKS They offer free water that you can pour yourself. They also offer complimentary water/tea. They have a small section where you can grab a glass cup and pour yourself standard black brewed coffee or warm water. Also in that same area, they have a big variety of tea bags available. They have a description for each tea on how it can benefit you ranging from aiding in sleep, memory, general women/men's health, etc. These are all at your disposal and I love it! For other alcoholic drinks and/or special flavored drinks/sodas, you do need to purchase it at the front desk. Because of what it offers at it's price point, I would definitely recommend to everyone. Overall, I loved my first experience at a vegan buffet.

Yelp
This restaurant is the one of the best vegan restaurants I have been to. The staff is friendly, the food is fantastic and the view is unbeatable! The multiple salads are good but their hot food offerings are even better - there is fresh code are tea included in your meal - I went here multiple times during my stay in Stockholm

Samuel C.

Yelp
Herman's is a hippie vegan buffet high up on the Northern coast of Stockholm's Sodermalm with a spectacular view of the waterfront, downtown and Djurgarden. The crowd could all be ecological activists, college professors, artists or granola lovers. The view is drop dead gorgeous. The vegan buffet is better than what you would get in a college town vegetarian restaurant and not as good as what you would get from an upscale haute cuisine nouveau vegetarienne. Still the food is nice. They include international elements such as Texas-style southwest black bean casserole. However, international does not change the menu very much in vegetarian cooking. Veggie places all over the world make vegetarian lasagna, soy sausage, bread with sun butter etc. etc, which is what you get here. As a salute to their Swedish roots, one of their dishes had dill. Most "restaurants with a view" are in skyscrapers and appeal to the business crowd or the tourist crowd. This is one of the few view restaurants I have seen that appeals to the Moosewood crowd. It was nice to see the mid-summer-late-night sun shining on all those buildings, all that water and all that greenery. My heart was at peace and so was my tofu. The place CAN get crowded however, and that makes it a little less restful. Eat your seitan and look out over the water. The tranquility that is without will soon be found within. Particularly since you are scarfing down that tranquility with a fork.

Mariam Nazdane A.

Yelp
I want to start by pointing it out that it's not a very baby friendly place. Strollers are not allowed inside and all the passages are very narrow and usually quite crowded so it was quite a problem for us to get to our table with our super small travel stroller (since our baby was asleep, we took it inside anyway). Although the variety was very limited, I liked that their salads were exciting and exotic, but keep in mind that they are kept on ice and not very compelling during winter time. Furthermore it was quite stressful to stand in long line in that narrow isle to get food.

Karen P.

Yelp
This place is definitely worth a visit. I visited Stockholm in October and there was not many tourists so it was easy to find nice seats and not crowded in the buffet area. My experience can pretty much be concluded in the following bullet points: - medium-high quality vegan food (to wash down all the grease that came with all the meatballs and hotdogs from Günter's) - GORGEOUS view - complimentary coffee and tea - price is reasonable The restaurant was also very clean and I could not get enough of the view (it was right by the waters and you can see Gröna Lund across)!! I wouldn't say the food was amazing but it was a really nice and healthy meal full of veggies that was much needed as a tourist after trying out so many different restaurants.

Amy C.

Yelp
Not even the magnificent view could distract me from the fact that I was eating bland and unimaginative vegan food, but at least it was cheap by Stockholm standards! This restaurant's saving grace is the fact that it is a reasonably priced all-you-can-eat buffet, which means that you can stuff yourself without feeling like you're being gouged by the average cost of a meal in Stockholm. While you can certainly eat the equivalent of two meals here to truly get your money's worth, you'll have to make do with what feels like the meager offerings of the vegan section in a college cafeteria. The most "exciting" dishes (and that's saying a lot) included pasta, lasagna, rice, and beets. At least there was a wide variety of breads. Letting diners cut their own slices from the loaves of bread felt very rustic, complementing the restaurant's overall aesthetic, but this only works in theory, as I saw many people manhandling the loaves with their bare hands, which can't be very hygenic. You won't be able to pick at your meal in peace either, because hordes of people descend upon this restaurant during lunch. Hermans is already a cramped space, but buses literally dump tour groups here for their lunch breaks, making it almost impossible to walk around. I'm disappointed because I actually really enjoy vegan food and I had read rave reviews of Hermans, but I just don't think the vegan buffet concept works well with flavorless non-guilty pleasure food. But the interior of Hermans is beautifully rustic and it's in a visually stunning part of the hipster hangout of Södermalm, so why not just turn it into a nicer sit-down vegan restaurant and actually put some thought into the food so it'll taste better?

Yelp

Marissa F.

Yelp
Such a great dinner buffet!! I didn't expect to find many vegetarian options on any given dinner menu in Stockholm, so Hermans was perfect. All of the food was GREAT quality and super fresh. Samosas, potatoes, hummus, salad, lentils, soup...so many options and so delicious. You definitely don't have to be a vegetarian to enjoy this buffet. And with the student discount it's an amazing deal -- I'd definitely recommend this place to any students trying to find a place for dinner that's not too expensive. They have an outdoor seating area right next to the main dining room that's covered by a tent -- we had to sit here for half of our meal because we didn't make a reservation ahead of time, which was our bad. But even though it was really cold outside, it didn't feel too bad inside the tent, because they had a few space heaters on. We later moved into the room that the buffet was in because we saw that the previous customers had left. It was pretty cramped but worth it for the warmth. Definitely make a reservation so you can sit in the main dining area!

Yelp
We stumbled across Herman's while walking to Fotografiet, and we are sure glad we did. Neither my wife nor I are vegetarians, but it looked like a neat place and a buffet is always fun. Everything we had was delicious, we especially liked the yellow Thai curry, and the stuffed puff pastry. The bread was fresh and perfectly crusty one the outside and soft inside. Don't let the habanero sauce scare you, it has some kick but it's it too spicy. The house made kombucha was good too! Service was very friendly and atmosphere was cozy, casual, and upbeat. Will definitely return next time we are in Stockholm!

Laura R.

Yelp
I've been here twice, and both times were AMAZING. There was such a variety of dishes that you didn't have to try anything more than once in order to be satisfied (but who limits themselves like that, really?). My most recent visit was for the julbord (Christmas buffet) and I was impressed by the alternatives such as the aubergine pickled 'herring'. The flavors were so spot on, and the texture really wasn't that far off either. They had more traditional julbord foods like janssons, meatballs, prinskorv, and ham. They also had foods from around the world such as curries, hummus, etc. The cashew cheese was the bomb.com, and I even thought about asking if I could just buy a chunk to take home. So recommended.

Chris R.

Yelp
Herman's restaurant is tucked away atop a hill side overlooking the harbor and offers an eclectic buffet with several food choices! Food Exceptional quality for a buffet. Everything is fresh and nothing looked or tasted old or spoiled. Being that we are not typically fans of buffets this one was spot on. Everything tasted exceptional, several flavors and spices. You'll definitely want to separate the portions a bit so that you experience each dish on its own. We highly recommend the lasagna! Atmosphere Very vibrant with a big mix of locals and tourists. There are plenty of spaces for privacy and if you sit outside you get the luxury of beautiful views overlooking Stockholm's harbor. Service This is pretty much self serve but the hosts are gracious and willing to answer any questions you have. Price $$ - very good considering the amount of food you can get. Coffee is included with price if meal. Student discounts offered.

Yelp
To start off, I have to say I came here extremely annoyed and pissed off that I got sucked into having to eat at this vegetarian buffet instead of the fried herring and mashed potatoes I wanted to buy off the streets. I love vegetarian food (especially Indian), but sometimes when you want fish and potatoes you really want it. I definitely had a very pouty face standing in line. But by the end of the whole experience, the food really won me over and I apologized to my group for giving them such a hard time. The buffet is 130 SEK per person (~$16 USD). You stand in line at the cash register to pay and get a ceramic plate. The buffet is in the room next to it. The cash register and buffet room is a bit cramped and chaotic. I think they can probably streamline their process a little better so you're not always bumping into people. Once you pay and get a plate fill it up and come back for seconds or thirds with the same plate. I love how you can reuse the same plate and not be so wasteful like those American buffets and their stupid FDA rules. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Inside immediately right outside is crowded, but if you go outside, down, and all the way to the right, there's a small alcove with even more seating. Bathroom is upstairs and they even have free wi-fi. Network name and password is on a sign next to the cash register. Every dish was delicious! At the beginning of the buffet you can cut yourself some fresh loafs of bread. And they provide a cloth to hold the bread so you don't spread your germs. Genius! Make sure you pair the bread with their delicious olive tapenade or vegan butter. They then split up the hot and cold dishes. For hot dishes, they offered lasagna, roasted baby potatoes, Thai vegetable curry, chana masala, and basmati rice with cardamon and star anise. Make sure you get the lasagna!!! It will make you happy. My mood improved x10 after eating that lasagna. The curry and chana masala were delicious as well, but they were not spicy enough for my taste. Next to the hot foods section they offer a variety of salads and a huge bowl of hummus. I was a big fan of their bulgar. This place also had the absolute best chokladbollars I had in Stockholm for 28 SEK (~$3.50 USD) each. The chocolate was unbelievably soft yet not melty, not too sweet, and had the perfect balance of chocolate and espresso. Best part is it's vegan but you can hardly tell! I really miss these chokladbollars. I would fly back to Stockholm just to get these again. In the beginning I still wanted to get my plate of fried herring from the street vendor so I planned on eating a little. I ended up eating two huge plates and got dessert afterwards. Needless to say, extremely delicious, filling, and worth your money.

Erika K.

Yelp
Super awesome vegan food! You are missing out if you haven't been! Students get 50% off on buffet with the purchase of a beverage after 15:00 or all day on the weekend.

Kelly P.

Yelp
There are countless things to love about traveling Scandinavia, but vegetarian buffets are among the best of them. Hermans is a wonderful example. It offers a relaxed, casual dining experience removed from the touristy kitsch of the old town with a distinctly Stockholm twist. I enjoyed just about everything I tried here (in my picture you can see couscous, fajita salad, an aubergine dish, and the awesome red ale I had with my meal, but I did go back up for seconds), but the real standout is the bread. It's thick, dense, and delicious, and the vegan cream cheese and tapenade spreads only serve to improve it. You also absolutely cannot beat the view. Hermans is located on the cliff right above Fotografiska, and the outdoor seating offers the best vantage point of Gamla Stan and the sea that I found during my time in Stockholm. If you're a student, be sure to ask about the discount. It cuts the price of your meal in half!

Terren W.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at Herman's!! When we visited early-ish (around 6pm) on a Monday evening, they were running a special - the dinner buffet for the lunch buffet price if you order a drink or dessert! I thought this was a pretty good deal. You order up front and get your plate, cutlery and drinks. Take a seat in the room straight ahead with the amazing view of the city. At the time we got there, it wasn't too crowded and we were able to sit right at the window. The view alone is worth it! The buffet room was so beautiful!! I was immediately overwhelmed - first by the bread (I have dreams about bread like this) and then by the rest of the offerings. Even my meat loving partner was satisfied, though not relieved he claims. I thought he was nervous about going to a veg buffet, though he says he wasn't. Our favorites were an apple/grape salad, a vermicelli noodle salad, the hummus (!!), pesto pasta salad with sundried tomatoes, and a white bean chili. The samosas were impressive! Less impressive: lasagna, quinoa/kale salad, sweet and sour curry. I think some of the items suffer from sitting around. But the tasty ones more than make up for it. Get the herb butter spread for all your slices of bread!! And for everything else you eat! Also the ginger beer is gr8. I made it through two full plates (like a champion) and seriously considered going back for thirds. I loved that coffee and tea are included. No shame - I thought the coffee straight from the machine was GREAT. You'll need that coffee/tea afterwards because your tummy will be too full to move. So lounging is suggested. Didn't get to try any desserts, but want to return because they all looked so tempting! As we were leaving, all the tables and the buffet room seemed to be filling up quickly, so I would recommend coming on the earlier side to beat the rush.

Kara P.

Yelp
I was informed that Herman's is now entirely vegan! They only had a few vegetarian dishes (cheese on the lasagna and in the salad), but decided to remove it. The ambiance is very relaxed and casual. It's buffet-style and you are welcome to take multiple trips. The food was excellent. I tried a bit of everything and it was all good. The sauces and flavored were very good. And there's an amazing view! We had such a pleasant time here.

Amy L.

Yelp
I liked the food (lasagna, omg!!! Avocado cream, omg!!!) and the variety, and that there was a selection of Yogi herb tea included, but.... - staff were rude (you can only stay two hours!!!!!!!! I'm bringing a tray, get out of the way!!!!!!! That table is reserved for someone else!!!!!!!!!) and overworked; because - it was so crowded you could barely walk around - the tables are way too close together because - it's too small - it's so crazy, I think if you brought your own similar, same-sized plate, and sat at a table where the time on the reserved sign isn't for another hour or two, you could probably eat plates and plates of food and no one would even notice you hadn't paid. I think that's what the girl sitting alone next to us was doing. -no one told us tea was included - kids were touching all over all the loaves of bread and trying to cut them with huge knives and no staff were making sure everything stayed kosher - some people were eating in the pitch black outside and in a smaller inner room because there were no lights there - there was some drama about people coming too early and taking someone else's tables.... The staff need to just check the reservation list when you pay and tell you if you can sit down yet or not... Don't wait till we make a mistake and then yell at us... Geeeez.

Zoe K.

Yelp
Maybe it was the reggae or the heat, but Hermans gave me a cosy festival feeling. Go on an empty stomach, preferably after shopping in crowds near t centralen, load your plate with food (balancing recommended) and take the stairs down to the garden area. I loved having my vanilla chai in the hammocks, I'd also say it's a nice place to dine alone or relax with a book if you're taking late lunch (we went around 3pm). Disclaimer: you might eat far too much and wander around fotografiska in pain.

Joe M.

Yelp
On our recent trip to Stockholm, Sweden, my girlfriend and I asked quite a few locals where they might recommend for a great meal. Hermans vegetarian cuisine was the top spot of so many people that it was impossible not to give it a try. I'll be honest, I was a skeptic at first since I normally need a healthy portion of meat with meals, but I was totally blown away with Hermans offerings. As buffets go, Deb and I visited several, ranging from the bland and oily Asian kind to Herman's, the very best vegetarian restaurant I've ever been to. Herman's was actually a suggestion from our Airbnb host, who offered it as an option for special occasions. Their buffet line options change throughout the night but some of the memorable bites we enjoyed were the eggplant lasagna, spicy olive pizza, and their vegetarian Thai curries. What's more, Herman's is located practically on a cliff so you get a full panoramic view of the city from Gamla Stan to Djurgården. Protip: Skip the Chinese buffets and grab a 2-for-1 coupon to Herman's in the city's Restaurant Guide. Not only will you score what might be the most affordable meal in town, but it will also be one of the highest quality and healthy bites in the city. Seriously, some of the best food in Stockholm so run, don't walk, and grab one of the shared tables for a fantastic meal!

Eugene N.

Yelp
Awesome vegan food buffet with a view to beat in the city of Stockholm! Something we did after visiting Fotografiska! Awesome selection! Yummilicious just what we needed!

Easy C.

Yelp
Hermans - I want to meet this 'Hermans' character. With a piece of prime real-estate on the hillside overlooking Stockholm's water front, the eatery is adjacent to the main tourist destination for photos of the city. Despite the signs many just wander by, as we did on the first pass, ensnared by our fist real view of the city. So before wandering off - STOP! Look around for the sign and follow it jus a few feet to the entranceway. Move down the long walkway into the dinning area and make a right turn. Get in line and order the buffet. Pay your money. It is worth it. Stop worrying about how much. Just hand them your money. I will admit that I had some reservations because I am usually turned off my any type of buffet. I decided to suck it up and try this place because it consistently came up on searches for vegetarian restaurants in Stockholm. This was nothing like the American buffets I have experiences -- while we were there the staff was very attentive to the buffet area, and nearly empty dishes were replaced quickly. Take your plates and make your way into the buffet area. Mind the line. Pick and choose what you want. Offerings change daily from what I understand, so there is no menu per say. It's just whatever they make that day. On the day we were there some of the options were vegetarian lasagna, curry and rice, and at least 10 different salads. Be sure to get some of that great bread on your way out. Find a seat, eat, drink, be merry, enjoy the view and than repeat. Be sure to use your dirty plate for the second pass. It is so easy to spot who does not use bread to mop up all that leftover good stuff. My plate was spotless. Enjoy.

Sergio S.

Yelp
Good food with the most stunning view of Stockholm. It is a buffet and you can choose from salads, noodles, rice, hummus, veggie lasagne, chili sin carne, moussaka and much more! Book in advance!

Susan L.

Yelp
We had an early dinner at Herman's tonight and it was a real treat! The food (vegetarian) was *delicious* and varied (many different types of salad items and several hot food items). Coffee and tea are included. There were many tempting-looking dessert items (not included in the cost of the buffet), but we were too full. The dinner buffet cost 165 SEK (*very* reasonable for such a costly city) and it's an additional 10 SEK on Friday nights. The lunch buffet costs 100 SEK. The restaurant is very high up on a hill and the view is *lovely*. There's outdoor seating, but it was a little too cool for us to sit outdoors. Herman's is VERY popular and I recommend making a reservation (we didn't, but we arrived at 5:00 p.m. and managed to get a table).

Christian B.

Yelp
I've seen a few mixed reviews about this place, so I was a bit skeptical on whether to choose between here and Hermitage for a vegan meal. I was subsequently brought here by a friend who lives in Stockholm, as she knows I've a big appetite but also require healthy 'fuel' after a long walk. As a local she said this place is cool although is busy at peak lunch time, so we went a little later, 15:00 on a Saturday and it was pleasantly full. Not heaving with vegetarians but enough people to know you're in a restaurant that is commendable. The decor is simple, yet warm. And the first thing you notice on walking down the stairs are the desserts.. That made me eat my mains a tad quicker haha! Hermans is a vegan buffet, I'm a meat eater but equally happy if the food is nice. Here I must say, the food was delicious and filling! Not salty as some have complained -only the pesto in my opinion. You've cold salads, breads, dips and hot food to choose from. I tried every dish apart from the samosa's but my friend said they were her favourite! I loved the vegetable (you don't say) curry which was brewed with cinnamon and coconut milk so sweet yet spicy on top of some pila rice, which had bay leafs to add to the flavour.... Hmmmm Coffee, tea and water is included in the price. And being a buffet, you can eat to your hearts content at a good price :) All in all I was very happy with this place, happy staff and although I'm a tourist, it was not full of us (on that occasion). I cannot talk down on Hermitage, but personally preferred Hermans! More choice.

Paco H.

Yelp
Vegans and vegetarians rejoice! And join the queue. This lovely restaurant is full of character. Lots of little tables and different rooms and levels. And it's got a brilliant load of different home-cooked vegetarian and vegan food. All the options are clear. If you have allergies, sensitivities, or specific needs, it's pretty easy to figure out what is in every dish. This place can be really popular, though. So if you're planning to come at a common time, you might want to book or just leave some room in your schedule for waiting. All the menus and items are labelled in English, so it's very (Anglo-)tourist friendly. Wish I had time to eat there twice on my trip!

Tamara N.

Yelp
Why don't have something like this in LA hm? This place just makes me want to move to Stockholm. It's so delicious and the views are the best I have to go again and again.

Shirley M.

Yelp
Oh. my. gosh. This is literally become my favorite place on earth. A VEGAN buffet? Are you freaking kidding me. We made a reservation online because we heard the wait is long and spots fill up fast so we didn't want to take the risk. I made an 11:30 am reservation which was the perfect time. Get 11 am if possible! It got super busy once it hit 12 pm and the space is kind of small so it was harder to move around and get the food. Also I think we are only given the tables for 1.5 hours so there is enough space for everyone :) OKAY so the food. Honestly 10/10. There was a cold food section, hot food, and desserts (not included in price of buffet). We started with the cold plates first and all the salads were super yummy! Favorite was one that had pineapple in it ALSO **GET THEIR BREAD AND TAPENADE/HUMMUS/CREAM CHEESE THING** it was honestly the best. The bread is so fresh and warm and just For hot food they had really good lasagna, ratatouille, rice, and potatoes!! We were stuuuufffed but had to get dessert. We got the Belgian chocolate cake, pumpkin pie, and choklad bollar. I recommend the cake and pie!! The ball was good but too chocolate-y for me. And service was faaantastic. Please go if you are ever in Stockholm

Yelp
First time visiting Stockholm and besides being amazed by this incredible city I decided to check out this vegan joint that everyone was raving about. Not only where they on point about the price being very reasonable for a buffet but the quality of the food was one of the best I've ever had, vegan or not. I would highly recommend this place to all plant or meat eaters and everything in between. You will not get better value for your money on any other meal on any of other island of Stockholm. I would love to certainly come back to Stockholm someday and I can only promise I will be paying this place a visit upon my return.

Yelp
Lunch here was overall not bad. There was a wedding party that reserved three large tables the day we came, which might explain the business, but nonetheless it was extremely crowded and uncomfortable to walk around. The seating around the buffet area is poorly arranged, and I spent almost as much time waiting behind people trying to get to my seat as I did eating. The staff were not especially friendly, though everything after paying is self service. We really enjoyed the food, which was very flavorful and interesting. Would consider coming back for the food!

Yelp
I had an excellent experience yesterday at Hermans. Some of you might know the struggle of getting a festive meal for Christmas as a vegan. I already doubted it could happen this year. But this was before I came to Hermans. I was overwhelmed by a fabulous Christmas buffet -- This beautiful feeling when you don't even know where to begin and you sadden realizing it's not even possible to try everything you want to. The food, the location (especially the view) and the ambiance was absolutley fantastic. Thank you!

Yelp
I'm normally turned off by buffets - they tend to be large amounts of picked over food that has been sitting for a while. Hermans is exactly the opposite, and as a vegetarian, its so fantastic to be able to eat everything! When you go inside you purchase your plate and a drink (they only serve beer and non-alcoholic drinks). Then they give you a place to sit and you help yourself to as much as you'd like. They are constantly refreshing the buffet, so definitely make a couple trips to see if something new appeared. I loved the yellow curry with vegetables and tofu - just the right amount of heat to it. Their fresh bread with herbed "butter" was so flavorful. I also really enjoyed the couches salad. On a nice day, they have a lot of outdoor tabes overlooking the water with an incredible view. And even if its not nice weather, its great value for the food.

Yelp
Well, there's nothing special about this place except the view. When it gets crowded (especially with tourists who stop for the scenic view near) the line gets long and the experience is just unbearable...

Yelp
Amazing restaurant! Inexpensive, superb food quality, and beautiful views by the water looking out from Sodermalm to Ostermalm across the water. You can even sit here alone and work with a computer, as they have Wi-Fi.

Yelp
For many years I've heard my friend and his girlfriend (now wife) talk about Hermans and their food and how good it is. It's the classical comment of "You just have to try it". I never got around to try it despite the fact that I live only five - ten minutes by bus away. But then one day, as I recently returned to my motherland, me and my friends mentioned above decided to meet and have a coffee or lunch. We met in Slussen and since Hermans is within walking distance we decided to go there. It wasn't a rainy day so we could easily sit outside on the upper terrace. I ordered a coffee and a raspberry pie with vanilla sauce and oh. my. god. I don't think I have ever had a more delicious pie. (except from when I make it myself lol ;) ) it was perfect. My friend had some coconut pineapple pie which he said he liked. I really liked the type of place it is, the kitchen seems small but they have plenty of things on the menu. I didn't know that you could also walk in from the other side of the building but learned about that when I had to use the restroom that are located on street level. I am sure that I will spend more time here at Hermans when the weather is better. As for right now I will bask in the memory of that nice raspberry pie and long until the day I can have another taste.

Yelp
To bad you can't give a place zero stars, one star is way to much. This must be the most overpriced piece of s**t in all of Stockholm, and thinking about the quality in general on Stockholm restaurants it is a tough competition. Basically their angle is "we are vegetarian" and it stops there. So damn uninspired and crappy food. Tasteless, expensive and boring as hell. When I go to a vegetarian restaurant I expect to be blown away by the texture and taste of the things I eat. I do not expect a tasteless pesto, boring hummus and generally boring salads. And then on top of all this junk they have some idea about "raw food". Well, raw food can also be really really nice and exciting. But t this was just normal vegetarian food but it was not cooked at all. Avoid this place at all costs, just because you are vegetarian and believe it yourself don't make you good. I get more vibrant and exciting food at the pick it yourself sallad bar at ica. I wish this place would go bankrupt so someone that knows something about food can start something at this superb location. So damn disappointed

Yelp
This place is a perfect combination of cheap prices, healthy and good food as well as great location with a stunning view over Gamla Stan and Gröna Lund. It is also possible to obtain consistent student discounts. Great for both lunch and dinner. The menu offers a good variety of vegetarian food, both cold and warm. The best part is that everything is all-you-can-eat. It is usually crowded, and it happened that I had to wait one hour to get a seat. This might be the only negative aspect of this restaurant, that actually is not too big. Remember to reserve a table and enjoy!

Yelp
Hermans is awesome. The first day we stopped in, we were looking for some hot chocolate. When we went to the counter, there were all sorts of great looking treats and desserts. We ordered hot chocolate, some chocolate cake, and a raw pumpkin cupcake. The hot chocolate was served in a glass with whipped cream and sprinkled with cocoa powder. The chocolate was just warm, but the whipped cream was very good. I would rank the hot chocolate 10th place on my hot chocolate tour of Europe list. The raw pumpkin cupcake was very good. It was different from any cupcake or pumpkin muffin I have ever had. It had a cool temperature and was more refreshing than a typical baked muffin or cupcake. It had a little bit of a vegetable crunch from the raw pumpkin slivers. It had a cream cheese like frosting on the top. I am generally not a fan of chocolate cake. However the first bite of Hermans' chocolate cake was incredible! It was very warm and extremely moist. The consistency was great and it was covered in a ton of that awesome whipped cream. I might have to say that was the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten in a restaurant. We didn't eat a meal the first time we went to Hermans, but the buffet style dinner that was set up that night looked excellent, so we decided to come back a couple of days later. They had an Asian theme the night we were there for dinner. It was all you can eat and boy there was a lot of food. I tried a tiny bit of everything and it took me 3 large plates of food to even taste everything. They used all vegetarian ingredients with a selection of sauces to accompany the meal. There was a chili paste that was very flavorful and had a good amount of heat to it. The dinner also came with a large selection of tea flavors, coffee, and water. Even though I was stuffed, we decided to go with some dessert. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the awesome chocolate cake, so we decided to try something new. We went with the raspberry pie crumble heated and covered in cream sauce. It was very good. I was full for the remainder of the night. There are lots of fun photos/quotes on the walls heading down the stairway to the restaurant. The view from Hermans was by far the best view of any restaurant I have visited in Stockholm. It is located high up on a cliff above Lake Mälaren and overlooks the lake and a lot of the city. I could have sat there for hours drinking in the view of beautiful architecture, shimmering lights, and passing cruise ships.

Yelp
Veggie goodness! I have been to this place so many times now and I bring friends and family too! Being from California, I have had amazing vegan and veggie restaurants in my life. I have to say that this place serves a variety of delicious vegetarian dishes. It's one of the best in Stockholm for sure! FYI: Make sure to make a reservation for the weekends, tables go fast.

Yelp
BEST-VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT-EVER! They offer a hudge (!) choice of tasty vegetarian dishes, salats and breads with clear oriental or asian influence in form of a wonderful all-you-can-eat buffet. It is so yummy you can't help yourself but go back to the buffet again, and again! And even for the non vegetarians: it tastes so delicious you'll forget about meat...

Yelp
Hermans has one of the best views in Stockholm and their kitchen is pretty good serving vegetarian food. - You go inside and pay for your plate in advance. Coffee, Tea and Water is included in the price. Any kind of soda drinks are extra. - After paying for your plate, you get in the line to get your food. Don't worry. Your stomach will not eat itself. You do not wait that long! - It is a buffet. So, if you finish your first plate and still have some place in your stomach, you can go for a second round or you can use that space for their amazing desserts!!! I highly recommend Hermans if you would like to eat vegetarian food.

Yelp
The view from the restaurant is the main redeeming feature of Hermans. I am not a vegetarian but can still appreciate good food and unfortunately that is not something that Hermans appear to be into. Looking at the other reviews it is almost as if we have been to totally different places but I have visited on three different occasions. It may seem strange to visit repeatedly if not pleased with it but occasionally I do actually agree to let other people decide - and see what happens - I have to eat awful food... All joking aside the food has been cheap when I have been there but the main problem I have had with it has been the flavor. Most of it has just tasted awful, some dishes are just 'gooey' and lack taste while others have just been over-spiced (often appeared to be an attempt to hide the fact that the they used poor quality food). If you want quality veggie food in Stockholm visit Lao Wai, Légumes, Copacabana or Chutney instead.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious, although partly quite spicy, so maybe not for everyone. Free water, coffee & tea. Gorgeous location by the water with view over Stockholm. Latin music playing in the background. All in all a high-value and high-quality all-you-can-eat buffet, the helpful staff explained everything to us in a very friendly manner. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
The food is incredibly good, lots to choose from as well. If you're planning on going there with a group I suggest you make a reservation ahead of time as this is a popular place. Quite affordable, especially if you're a student! The location is perfect as well, if the weather allows is I personally love eating out in the garden with the beautiful view over the city.

Yelp
Fantastic classic Swedish cuisine. Our friend who lives here brought us around the corner from his home to have a lovely dinner. Food was fantastic, service was decent, price was good.
