This hotel is hard to beat on price, location and the included breakfast. Syntagma square/train station is a 5 minute walk, the acropolis 10-15 minutes and lots of shops/ restaurants starting a block away. The rooms are small, but if you’re just looking for a place to sleep and spend most of the day out and about, it’s fine. Bed was comfortable but the pillows where very flat. Breakfast was great, wide selection of American and European foods. We spoke with 5 different staff members and only one was particularly helpful. I didn’t get her name, she worked nights while we were there and was the youngest woman employee we saw. She was excellent, had great recommendations on places to eat, suggestions to alter our itinerary to make things easier and was just over all helpful. My wife and I got bit by something every single night we were here. We checked the bed and saw no evidence of bed bugs and the bites were not indicative either (we’ve dealt with bed bugs in the past and know what to look for). However when we brought the bites up to the staff we were met with resistance. They said it was a reaction to a food allergy (neither of us have any food allergies), they said we got bit while we were outside and had a reaction hours later, my wife was told she was lying about seeing, photographing and squishing a bug in our room. I understand they can’t really do anything about spider/mosquito bites but I did not like being told it was a food allergy and to not worry about it.

In general this is a good hotel because of its central location, near Mitropoleous street, which runs parallel to Ermou street and because it is well kept.Room was spacious with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and included a coffee machine for expresso, cappuccino, etc..We had a superior room, with a bath, which would be better if replaced by a shower. Toiletries were available. The hotel has a luggage room which is very useful. All staff was polite and professional, but I would highlight Mrs Margarita at the reception, who was very affable. It was a good stay and we can recommend this hotel.

Clean hotel in a good location. Breakfast is a little lacking. But great location. Beware the tiny elevator.

Hermes Hotel in Athens is a great option for anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient stay in the heart of the city. While the rooms are on the smaller side, it's important to note that it's a city hotel, so space is typical for the area. What really stands out here is the friendly and professional staff, who go above and beyond to ensure you feel welcome. The location is fantastic, with most of Athens' top attractions just a short walk away. Plus, the hotel is surrounded by a variety of great restaurants and bars, perfect for exploring the local scene. Overall, it's an ideal place to stay for a few days while discovering Athens.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. The amenities were top-notch, and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway!

Terrible hotel. Very old, not clean at all. Full of mosquitos were in the room and nothing to prevent on the window. A bare and small room without main hotel things like slippers, napkins or maybe one little bottle of water. Breakfast was not good at all, although our room included, we never ate breakfast after we saw. We ate outside for the 5 days we stayed there. Staff not helpful and have very cold attitude. I have been going to Greece for more than 10 years but this was the worst experience. Dont reconmend at all. Only the location was very central but you can find many better ones in that neighborhood.

Great hotel in affordable price in central location of the city, just 3 minutes walking to Syntagma Square and close to many shops and restaurants. Very professional and friendly staff. We had a wonderful experience with: - Emilia: She was very helpful and friendly with us during breakfast time. - Eva and Andrew: They work in the reception and they were always friendly and helpful in everything that we would need like informing us about restaurants, places to go and offering us taxi services. We really recommend to everyone to book accommodation in this hotel that you will feel like your home.

The hotel is old and there are many nuances, but the main thing is that there is black mold around the perimeter of the entire balcony door, on the walls and on the aluminum itself. This balcony door has not been washed for many years, it is generally scary to touch the handle, and the door does not close. The wind blows and whistles from it . The tulle weighs torn, the walls and ceiling in the shower are swollen everywhere. It may be an old hotel, but if it's clean, then everything else is not very important. The only advantage is that the hotel is close to the sights.
