Hermitage Motor Inn

We had such a lovely stay at the Hermitage. Wendy at reception was so kind and thoughtful. It was around 40 degrees each day for the duration of our stay and the air conditioning worked extremely well. The beds were very comfortable, and the linen was soft. Great pillows too! The room had everything we needed for a few days, including a basket of glasses, mugs and utensils. This was a thoughtful touch to the room for takeaway! Everything was immaculately clean, and the car parking was in shade for the heat of the day. It's easy walking distance to the CBD, two large supermarkets, the restaurants and the parks. You could easily walk from the train station to the motel too. One of the hidden gems in the room was the information on local eateries! The list was extensive and very helpful.

The position is excellent. Close to the station, the cathedral, and the town. There was no noise issue at all for me. The rooms are huge and practical. Really nice size, with many power points. So useful! Then there is a basket of plates, cups, glasses, and utensils. Plus jug etc. A small fridge. There was a nice selection of tea. I really appreciate a bit of variety, especially if the choices are good. Another nice touch was little bottles of milk—so much better than creamers or drink boxes, which spray milk everywhere… The A/C worked fine. The service was excellent. The manager and staff were exceptional. Wendy on the front desk was a superstar, and the others were friendly and chatty as well. I really liked the vibe. The other guests seemed nice. While the inn is not fancy, it gets all the basic points right. This is the most important! And the inn does it perfectly. The breakfast next door, at the Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway, is very good and reasonably priced if you need a smart breakfast (al a carte). Intermezzo Cafe Bar & Restaurant is also good—much better than average scoring (although these things always depend on your sensitivities).

Excellent motel in a great location. The room was spacious and spotless. The staff were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and our request for a ground floor room was granted with parking right outside the door. Check in and check out time was flexible.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly, the rooms are clean and the property is very well maintained. We loved the central location, and will definitely be back again. Thanks for helping make our experience to Wangaratta memorable.

Checked in and straight away the room looked awesome—super clean, bed made perfectly, and it smelled fresh. I noticed there were a couple of water bottles laid out for me, which was a solid touch. Saw a bottle of wine in the fridge too (not sure if I was meant to crack it open, but hey, nice surprise). Location’s perfect—super easy to get to the shops, and if you’ve got an EV, there’s a Tesla Supercharger around the corner. Biggest win for me was the electric blanket, especially with the cold night—made crashing out much more comfortable. Honestly, really enjoyed my stay. Five stars, for sure, and I’d tell mates to book here without a second thought!

Stayed yesterday Tues 7 Jan. Great reception, very engaging lady, couldn't do enough. Room spotless, linen spotless, great location. Highly recommend for a stay in Wangaratta.

My Wife and I , were very impressed with the motel, Great location, an easy walk to shops, the Room was way above expectations, and the Price was more than compatible with lesser accommodation. The cleanliness was exceptional , and the lady on Reception was one of the best we have ever come across, went out of her way to look after everyone.

Hermitage Motor Inn was an absolute delight. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. Perfect location, great value, and a peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality stay!
