Hermosa Beach House

Beautiful location outside of Jaco right on the beach. No elevator, lots of stairs. Small room, not even a chair. Shower was warm at best, but never hot. Nice pool. Place needs a good cleaning. Do not ask the staff to book your local trips. We always ended up feeling like we were taken advantage of and asked for additional money for everything from horseback riding, to prepared meals, massages and day trips. Frankly it felt a little sketchy and scammy all week. With plenty of other locations available, we felt we chose the wrong one for our large family group.

Great location, right on a beautiful black sand beach. If you're looking to just chill this is the perfect getaway. A few local restaurants right in the area, not to mention every Saturday there's a surf competition!! This is a place to just relax and listen to the ocean. Stayed in Room 8 went on an amazing hike that overlooked Jaco. The owner Julie shared this with me. Will definitely be back.

Looking for a wedding venue, LOOK NO FURTHER!! The house is absolutely beautiful! The black sand beaches, palm trees and the pool are the die for! Julie the owner was truly amazing and made our wedding experience a breeze! I had nothing to worry about but enjoying my weekend and big day. She helped with everything from transportation, vendors, to set up and break down! Her staff was super friendly and helpful with whatever we needed. My friends and family thank playa Hermosa beach house for an amazing time! We can’t wait to go back! PURA VIDA! 🤙🏼

. Nothing but good to say about this place. Started with a warm welcome and helpful area advice from the host. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The pool was wonderful and clean. Coffee on when we got up in the morning . Walk down to the beach and enjoy some great relaxing quiet time. We only spent one night but would definitely stay again

The people, the location, and the accommodation are perfect, pura vida. Julie is an incredible host making sure everything was easy and comfortable throughout our entire stay. She is also an incredible cook, a special shout out to her porridge and cinnamon tea! The entire staff is very helpful and kind. I also took a surf lesson during my stay from Matias and could not recommend him more as a teacher. He was made sure I caught amazing waves and taught me a lot in 2 hours. His prices are very affordable and would encourage anyone who wants to try or even improve their surfing to contact him. Thank you to everyone in Playa Hermosa for a beautiful experience!

I cannot say enough about the location of this hotel. It literally backs up to one of the most beautiful black sand beaches I have ever seen. The pool and common areas are great. There are facilities to cook a meal and make your own coffee. Chill restaurants and bars are just a short stroll down the beach. Our room was basic (it had a refrigerator, which I appreciated), but if you are spending any time in your room other than sleeping, you've missed the point entirely. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who loves the beach.

During my 6 day stay, this became a home I know I can always return to. Julie, the property host is and angel and is so knowledgeable and helpful with all aspects of staying here. Staying here was fulfilling beyond my expectations. The property is a SANCTUARY with a beautiful pool, shala for yoga, hammocks and various comfy lounging chairs. The surrounding nature is so abundant, on the property you’ll find macaw birds eating almonds from the trees, toucans, and hummingbirds flying about. The beach is absolutely breathtaking, sunrise to sunset rain or shine I enjoyed every moment here. I felt so safe and taken care of while staying here. The rooms are beautiful and clean, the air conditioning worked so well and showers were hot! Everything single employee on the property was so lovely. I was here attending a yoga retreat so meals were prepared by Julie and her staff. Each meal was delicious and so nutritious and you could feel allll the love it was made and served with. Julie connected us with many local experiences throughout our stay from surf lessons, horse back riding, jungle + waterfall hikes and a profound tezmescal ceremony. I throughly enjoyed getting to know Julie and her beautiful property, I dream of coming back in the future. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!! 🤍

This was a great place in our price range. It’s right on the beach and the property is great. Breakfast is not included, but there is an outdoor kitchen with utensils, coffee maker and even a little grill if you want to cook for yourself. We enjoyed our time here.
