Heron's Landing Hotel

Some of the latest reviews were a bit dodgy, but, I decided to try it. The hotel is aware of recent bad reviews. The staff were friendly, my room was clean. The bed was super comfy and I had a big balcony overlooking the sea. Discovery passage is literally across the street. I chose this one over the Ramada next door because they didn’t have AC and Herons Landing did. Breakfast wasn’t up to much, but, the coffee was good. If you’re just looking for a clean, nice room with a great view and don’t mind dated furniture this place is ideal. It also has a laundry, just an FYI.

Saw some poor reviews on another site, but, I enjoyed my stay. It was clean, the staff were really helpful. Had a good size, well equipped room with a great view and a big balcony. Lost a start because it’s a bit dated. As long as it’s clean I don’t care.

I was very pleased with my stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms have an "old school" feel and are clean and well appointed. The bed is comfortable. The included Continental breakfast is very good with a friendly smile. The location is excellent with good pub and dining nearby. Good value for money.

We had a great stay at Heron’s Landing. The location is perfect — right across from the ocean — and the price was very reasonable. The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall, a pleasant experience and we’d definitely stay here again!

Outdated and Unpleasant Stay ! I’ve been staying at this hotel for several years, and I am absolutely disappointed by how little it has changed. The facilities are severely outdated and in desperate need of an upgrade. Everything feels old, worn-out, and neglected. The room had a musty smell that lingered throughout my stay, making it very uncomfortable. What was even more concerning was seeing a child cleaning the room. I was shocked at the lack of proper staffing and professionalism. I used to enjoy staying here, but it’s clear they haven’t made any efforts to improve or maintain their standards. I won’t be coming back again.

Horrible Experience – Avoid This Hotel! I rarely write reviews, but my stay here was so awful that I felt compelled to warn others. From the moment I stepped into the room, it was clear this place was not up to standard. First off, the sheets were filthy—they had stains on them and smelled like they hadn’t been washed in ages. When I checked the bathroom, it was no better. The carpet was stained all over and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. The worst part? The dirty dishes left in the kitchenette. Plates and glasses from previous guests were still stacked in the cupboard, and the microwave had food splatters all over it. It was disgusting. Overall, this hotel is in desperate need of a clean-up and better management. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and I will definitely never be back.

Honestly, I didn't expect too much from the reviews at this hotel, but my two nights stay here exceeded my expectations! Positives: Room was clean and decent size. The bed was comfortable. Good WiFi signal. My room had a mini fridge, kettle, and microwave which came in very useful for me. Staff were very friendly and helpful (Thank you Bill and Tannis!). Decent water pressure. Location was central within 7 minutes drive of downtown. Hotel faces the ocean with no obstructions so perfect for those who takes morning walks. Negatives: The interior is definitely showing it's age. My keycard didn't work a couple of times. Parking onsite is an issue as there are not a lot of parking spaces at the hotel. Fortunately, there are plenty of street parking by the seawalk. Walls are a bit thin so you could hear your neighbors if you are a light sleeper. My neighbor had a cough and I could hear the coughing. Overall, a good option to stay at so long as you temper your expectations.

This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in!! Room keys didn’t work, couldn’t get back into lobby, had to call to be let in. And we have stayed in lots of cheap hotels. The room smelled like Raid, it was hard to breathe. I was told by front desk it was likely febreeze to cover other odors. The bedsheets: dried blood, hair and holes. The bathroom was terrible. The shampoo dispenser had mold on the undercover. The furniture was not even up to Second Hand store quality. Stains on carpets. There was a garbage can in hallway for guests to put used linen in. 🤮 Luckily the staff understood that the room was inhabitable. I could sense their frustration that they had to deal with this. It was late at night when we arrived . There was a tournament in town, therefore no rooms available there or anywhere in town under $300. So we had to make the drive to Courtney for a room.

Friendly staff. Good breakfast. TERRIBLE internet connection problems. Noisy near highway.
