Our go to! They roast in-house so you know it'll be good.My husband is a coffee snob,roasts his own beans (owns a roaster /commercials espresso gear) he loves it here. We like their pastries too….cinnamon & cardamom type danish & the sourdough croissant was so good.

Every time I visit Newport, I make sure to stop by Herst Coffee Roasters. It’s my go-to spot—not just for the coffee but for the cozy atmosphere that makes me want to stay a little longer. Their coffee is bold and strong, just the way I like it. Even though I usually love cappuccinos, I always go for a latte here because their espresso has such a rich, intense flavor. Bakery is a little salty for my taste. If you’re visiting in the winter, the best time to sit outside is between 9 AM and 11 AM—still sunny and warm, perfect for enjoying your coffee. Definitely a must-visit!

I do not recommend. The only memorable thing about this place is how bad the chocolate croissant was, I’ve never had anything like it. Please try and let me know what you think… I give it two stars, because of the location and interior design. It’s a good area to grab a coffee and go for a short walk around the pier

Very cute, cool location, and really good coffee. They also had great pastries but recently switched. The new ones seem fine but I’ll miss the old ones a lot.

Stopped here to work remotely for the day. The Spanish Oat Latte is heavenly and not too sweet. I also got the Pain au Chocolate which was great as well. One thing to mention is that this cafe does NOT have WiFi. The atmosphere is very relaxed and upscale. Staff are friendly and helpful for the most part. If you are coming with a large group, please be kind and patient - staff includes about 3-4 people efficiently juggling orders. Seating includes a few tables inside (maybe 2 outlets?) but this weather is amazing so I would recommend the outdoor seating (no outlets). It’s not my top recommendation for remote work, but it is a great cafe to visit for the atmosphere and lattes. Super cute area with upscale shopping.

Very aesthetic spot, but I am an espresso drinker and I can’t countenance places that only serves espresso in paper to-go cups. If you have single origin espresso, you should have real cups.

I think they perform well at the standard espresso selection, nothing more on the menu. The interior is... minimalist to a fault for me. Nice location and outside seating sure. My biggest criticism is to-go cups for anything you order in or out which takes away a special something about sitting down with a proper vessel for the drink.

This is not a cheap cup of coffee but its a delicious one. I got a chocolate croissant (9/10) and an almond milk latte (10/10) This isn’t somewhere I would meet up with friends and stay. This is a place I would grab coffee and treat to walk around the other shops with. The interior is very cute and definitely photo worthy

Love a good redemption arc. I visited Herst Coffee for a second time this past weekend and was floored by their Spanish latte. This spot remains to be pretty upscale, which is no surprise due to their location in the Lido area. While you won't find price conscious beverages here, their drinks are incredibly tasty and the staff is very kind. The Spanish iced latte with oat milk I ordered is my perfect-world beverage. Everything about this drink was made to perfection. Love that they can craft a smooth and creamy beverage, while still managing to keep a strong coffee flavor. Highly recommend checking Herst out and browsing the nearby Lido stores as part of your Newport Beach day itinerary.

HERST COFFEE ROASTERS is located in the Lido Marina Village. So if you come here for the coffee, you'll be glad to hear that the shops are worth a visit. There was no line to order but there was quite a bit of people inside the spacious shop waiting to get their orders. Not because the baristas are slow, but because there seem to be a lot of customers that ordered ahead. And no wonder. Their CORTADO is deliciously strong, but not super bitter and/or sour. Their LATTE is not milky at all. Their CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE is giant and thick and very chocolatey and very pizookie-size worthy. Cute indoor space. Even cuter outdoor seating area. It's difficult to get a vacant table at the front though -- there are lots of people.

We liked pastries too,cinnamon & cardamom type danish & the sourdough crossiant was interesting (very rich!) My husband noticed they don't serve traditional cortodas there,he ordered one but served more like a flat white.He asked for less milk in it and that was perfect.

Herst is my favorite coffee shop to visit in Newport - the ambiance is lovely, baristas are sweet, pastries are all delectable, and coffee is smoooth everytime! And it's located in the cutest Lido Village so it's perfect for meeting with friends (limited seating) or walking around the beach and village with your coffee of choice! Love their pastries, from Eller Bakery so it's made with sourdough. The banana bread and chocolate chip cookie are decadent and divine.

I like Herst Coffee. They hire good people and it's a very cute location. Love the outdoor seating, and the little back room makes nice use of the space. I wouldn't say it's the best to work from, as the indoor seating is limited and meant more for short stays. The hot lattes are awesome, but their iced lattes don't taste very good to me for some reason. Maybe I'm not a huge fan of their syrups. I'll stick to hot, because they usually do a fantastic job. I would also pass on the pastries. It's a shame because they look so beautiful, but I tried a chocolate croissant once and it was awful. They should find a new supplier.

One of the best coffee in town! Ordered their flat white and was great! The place is so cute and location is prime. Their pastries looked delicious but unfortunately my friend and I were on a diet!

This coffee shop is located at the Lido area of Newport Beach so it had a cool beachy vibe. There are many coffee shops in this area and with that being said, there wasn't anything that really made Herst Coffee Roasters stand out. Their baristas were pretty bland and didn't seem that interested in helping their customers understand the menu. The flavors of their coffee were just mid. I also got a banana chocolate bread and that was a little dry and the flavor of banana didn't really stand out. The place is located in a cool area but other than that, nothing was really too memorable about it and I would want to try other coffee places nearby instead.

You know....I hate to say it...but this place is just mediocre in my opinion. Just when it comes to their coffee. Ambiance wise, it's top notch. Super nice spot with plenty of seating and a good place to stop and chat or just people watch on lido. Pastries look delish but tbh I haven't tried any. Only reason for 3/5 stars is because every time I get a coffee from here it's honestly hard to finish. I don't love their drinks and I'm a big coffee person. Just my opinion :/

I did not expect to like Herst when I walked in and saw how milky their drinks looked. I figured they'd serve me overpriced, improperly made drinks but was delighted at how good their coffee was. My husband ordered an iced vanilla latte with almond milk. It wasn't too sweet, had a nice espresso flavor even though it didn't look like it, and was nicely balanced. I ordered a standard macchiato which should technically be espresso with about a tablespoon of steamed milk, totaling no more than 3-4oz. They gave me a cortado instead, but I have no complaints because it was smooth and delicious. I'll have to research parking options to determine if I'll be back. It cost $10 to park for 17 minutes which was enough time to go in, order, grab my drinks, and back to the car.

The inside is cute & spacious, with a good amount of seatings inside as well as outside to enjoy the breezy ocean air...however, if you plan on studying or working here, don't. They don't have wifi available & very limited power outlets if you need to plug in your computer. Their menu seems to be limited, with just the basic flavors and kinds of coffee. I don't drink coffee, so I got a matcha and that was very powdery. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Good coffee shop. Little expensive per size of coffee but normal- it's Newport Beach. Parking is also limited. There is no internet which is good probably so people only come for coffee. They roast their own coffee and it was good. Restroom was clean. Outdoor seating was superb.

I have a great appreciate for the minimalist design. The design gives you a clean ambience and the coffee aroma makes you feel warm and cozy. This is a great spot if you are in Lido village and need to satisfy your caffeine cravings. The mocha was on point and perfect in taste. Also I enjoyed seeing the barista guy with nice eyes. Make sure to see him lol. Staff are very friendly and kind.

Spanish latte was super yummy!! Got it with oat milk and it was around $7.50. Pastries looked delicious!

Strolling along after a late lunch and was thinking of having some coffee as a pick me up. Herst coffee was just the right spot. An open and welcoming space. Great sidewalk outdoor tables to people watch. Indoors is large and almost a farmhouse vibe. Staff are helpful when ordering. Decided on a matcha latte iced and a strawberry cream puff. Matcha was smooth and nothing too special. The puff however is really good. Puff is soft with a creamy strawberry custard. Watch out- the cream can end up on your shirt! Worth a visit here at the marina.

A slightly foggy morning; the weather was pleasant, not too hot or cold. My friend and I got. to this here coffee shop. Friday morning, I was a mere mortal (perhaps the waking dead) and left feeling like a caffeinated deity. The cold brew was amazing, and not too bitter, just pleasant. The decor? Oh, it's like a Pinterest board and a hipster's fever dream had a love child. It had a little Lofi vibe, was simple yet elegant, and had sundance festival vibes, which made me want to wear a boho sundress instead of the biker pants I was wearing. I felt kinda out of place but beautiful nonetheless. We got a scone, which was alright, nothing too special, but we appreciated the portion size. Would I go here again? Probably. But I need to be dressed with *natural beauty* and *elegance* yet *trying not too hard* air oozing out of my pores.

I wanted to actually visit Blue Bottle, but then we ended up here instead because I couldn't find parking haha. We ended up parking in the garage in Lido Village, which was $10 for hr... that's kind of absurd. Definitely not parking there again lol. As we were walking towards blue bottle, we passed by here and i'm like 'eh why not give this place a try'. This cafe shop seems a popular spot to catch up with friends and hang around! There was even quite a long to order so this shop was busyyy. I ordered my parents the filtered coffee, and I got an iced latte. I enjoyed my iced latte and the price was decent for it! It was pretty standard, but I wouldn't say it's like wow amazing. It was good. My parents got the filtered coffee and just added their own milk and cream on the side to their liking. They said it was pretty strong for them, but honestly they're used to just having Starbucks coffee. They liked it! Cute shop with outdoor seating, theres a seating area inside as well. Although, since it's quite busy here and pretty loud, it's best to just buy and go. Not the type of place if you're trying to do work here really, but more for chatting.

Good coffee, good ambiance, good prices. Very Solid location, good coffee, beans sold in house too!! grab a coffee and walk around Lido, or post up outside and get some work done! Not a crazy amount of seating, no seating inside, only outside. But highly recommend checking it out!

I appreciate the variety of non-caffeinated beverage options available. However, the one-size-fits-all approach may leave you wanting more, so don't be afraid to double up on your drink order. The pastries are always fresh and delicious. Profitez de votre café!

Absolutely love this cafe. It's beautiful inside. There was a line, but it went by fast. I can see why! The lattes were so balanced. I loved them! Prices are average. There's a small town to walk around too. I will be coming back whenever I'm in the area!

Drip coffee. It tasted horrible! Super bitter. And I really hated that you can't pour in your own cream. It's lame to stand at the counter and have them say..."is this enough? Now? Good?" Actually, no it's not good. And the lids didn't fit well so it was spilling all over. I ended up tossing it after a few sips and went to another coffee spot. Butter croissant looked amazing that I was thinking it might redeem this place, but after bite one, it was flavorless, not buttery at all. And super dense/thick. Not light, fluffy, flaky like it should. Nooo thanks....

Herst is tucked away in Via Lido, which is a gorgeous place in Newport. The cafe was out of chai that day and a few other caffeinated teas so I decided to go with a herbal iced hibiscus. It was a great floral and slightly sour tea. It did again have a sour note that threw me a little off balance but overall it was very refreshing that hot day. I will say the inside is a little underwhelming, with not a lot of decor but the outside seating was great especially on such a nice day. The staff was friendly and I'll definitely be coming back to try more drinks.

The Spanish latte is hands down the best latte in OC. I was so caught off guard with their stunning latte art and the modern chic store design! Everything seemed clean and our server helped us fairly quickly as there was not a big line when we went. Our lattes came out within 5 min and as I mentioned tasted amazing with the right amount of sweet and foam was perfectly fluffy. The parking can be a little hard here as lido is so small and all spots on the street cost for parking, but this spot is worth it. Next time I want to try their pastries because they look amazing.

I got the matcha latte and the matcha taste wasn't very strong. They only have oat and almond milk for alternative milk. The inside has a good amount of seats and the outside has cute seating as well. The noise is kinda loud but other than that the vibes are nice. They don't do parking validation so you would have to do it at another store in the village.

Super cute place with yummy coffee. Parking is street parking but I did not have an issue finding any. The service was friendly and we got our coffee fast. I got the Spanish latte hot which was warm and tasty. There are some seats inside and outside.

Love this coffee shop! It's great to work/study from because the drinks and pastries are really good! For the most part the baristas are nice there can be some who can be fairly direct. The place is always busy and there is usually a line out the door. The only con is that there's not very many outlets so not a place you can work/study from long term. It's usually crowded indoors and outdoors especially on a nice day!

Little coffee shop that sits in the middle of Lido Village. I tried their bread here and at Eller and there were very tasty. Service was very friendly and the drinks were great. Ordered a Flat White with Oat and it was good. The parking can be very difficult as you have to be very lucky for street parking or pay for garage parking. The plaza is always packed with people If you are able to find parking, I'd say give it a try!

I love their rosemary latte!! So delicious. The baristas are always so nice and there is ample seating in the cafe and out front! Only downside is no wifi so it's a bit hard to work from here but my personal hot spot does the trick!

New to the area and was looking for a good cafe to study at. The atmosphere and customer service were amazing. Everyone was so friendly. The matcha latte was rich, but a little too bitter for my taste. I really like this place but they don't offer WiFi. Which wasn't too much of an issue because I have a hotspot, but it would be nice. Overall pretty nice place!

It's good coffee. I got a vanilla late and mocha latte. The vanilla latte was tasty, but I thought the mocha latte was gross (won't be ordering that again). The service was good and the coffee shop is cute with a great vibe and ambiance. I'll be back again, but will def pass on getting another mocha latte.

While walking around Lido Village we came across this coffee shop. We decided to take a coffee break. We walked in and there was a line. A good sign .... Spacious coffee shop with mostly outdoor seating. Beautiful grounds and ambiance. I wanted a cold brew by they were out of it so I ordered a cappuccino instead and my husband got an americano. It tasted good. They also had delicious banana bread. We got one and shared. Sooo good. Customer service was unfriendly but maybe because they were so busy it was overwhelming ?? Overall a great stop for a coffee break when in the area.

It is always crowded here. Coffee quality is very consistent. I really enjoyed their vanilla oat milk latte. Pastry selection is limited but seems fresh. The outdoor sitting area is a plus and the main reason why I came here!

Gave is the wrong coffees we were already gone before realizing they made the wrong one and it tasted bad. We ordered 2 spanish lattes and got something else. The girl with the pierced nose took our order she didn't seem to be paying attention or care about the order. Its sad because we always go here and now we are not coming back. It was that bad.

Wow, this was probably one of the most delicious and creamy coffees that I have ever had! If you are looking for depth richness with a creamy finish, this is your place. I am not a coffee drinker, but I know good coffee when I smell it.! Not your average cup of Joe delicious bakery goods as well. I had the Spanish coffee with creamy condensed milk. It was a rare trait. !

Cute coffee shop. Very nice location as well. I think the coffee was really good. We tried a danish cinnamon roll and it was yummy. I liked that it wasn't very sweet. Also the sourdough croissant was super good! This shop never disappoints

Tried their iced honey rosemary latte with almond milk, less sweet. I've never had a rosemary latte before, and the subtle hint of herbal tones complimented the coffee so well. Parking might be difficult since it's mainly street parking. Pricing is a bit steep but it's Newport. Overall, great stop if you're walking around the area.

Cute little cafe in Lido village. I went with my mom this morning and we got an iced vanilla and rosemary latte, both tasted great! A bit on the pricier side but unfortunately that seems to be the norm for coffee now. Service was great, very friendly. The cafe has plenty of seating to catch up with a friend/read a book. Ton of metered parking or there's a parking lot as well, in addition to 30 minute free spots if you just want to pick up.

Vintage meets a contemporary minimalist vibe. The staff here were awesome, and when I said I didn't know what to get, they asked me what my go-to coffee place was. I told them what I usually order from Starbs, and they made a recommendation. I don't even remember what I got, but it was delish! Would I drink or dash? Hot or cold, I will dash on over and drink it per their recommendation!

This place is hopping, especially on the weekend! The location is great and you can still around checking out the little local shops close by. The shop itself is a good size. They have a few tables outside. Not nearly enough for everyone so if you plan to come, come early and expect a wait. The line inside is very long and can go out the door and down the street. The service is friendly and I believe they are doing their best. It's kinda slow, I think because there are so many people and orders! The drinks are tasty and pretty. As per my usual I always ask for extra hot and it did come out hot. The pastry choices are a limited (I am not sure if they had more earlier but were sold out, I got there at 11). The croissants were flaky and delicious. All in all a nice place, just too crowded for my taste.

Solid coffee shop. Got all the food you'd expect with normal pricing. Environment is welcoming to your furry friends.

Well when you in Lido Newport, you are having a boujee day! Love the vibe and simple menu! Some coffee shop menu just makes you confused! Cool, helpful and fast staff. They have sitting inside and outside. Love the Ice Latte and Cappuccino! Go give them a visit!

I am so glad i stumbled upon Herst! I like how they close at 10 PM so it is perfect for a late night latte. The staff was very accommodating towards my allergies and were welcoming in general. I liked how i could easily tell the baristas to put enough sweetness to my liking for my matcha latte! I would definitely recommend this cute coffee shop as the vibes are bright and lovely :))

The decor and aesthetics of this place are really nice whoever put it together did a very nice job. The coffee I had an iced Spanish latte and it was absolutely a disgrace I really don't like to say that I wasted my money but in this case I have to say that I did. My daughter had a matcha latte then she said was fair which in my book is a fail.

Such a cute spot! Pretty good coffee and pastries. Some seating inside and lots of seating outside (if it's busy you might not get a spot). Really friendly staff and a great stop and go spot on your way to some shopping in Lido Village. Parking in the area is mostly paid so that's something to consider if you want to stay and sit for a while.

Get the Spanish Latte! Its so good! A bit pricey for $7 but has great flavor and very concentrated. Cafe is also very trendy too.
