What can I say, I looked for weeks for a genuine Dutch restaurant and thanks to my hostel host I found this one! I honestly have no idea why traditional Dutch food is not more prevalent because what I had was so freaking delicious! I ate Stammpot with a good sized and well seasoned hamburg steak on top and it was honestly the best meal I had in The Netherlands by far. Not only that but if you take a window seat then you're eating with a fabulous view of the city streets and a bit of the canal. To top it all off I had very gracious hosts who checked up on me and were very happy to give me seconds (that's right I ate another whole plate of the Stammpot!) The only dissatisfaction that I found was that I found this restaurant on the last day of my trip and I couldn't get to try any other dishes. If I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely hitting this place up!

Food was great! Authentic Dutch fare (according to restaurant staff, we went with the recommendation), considering we don’t get much of that in the Netherlands in general, mostly international cuisine. Would recommend if you are dropping by Rotterdam for a day or two. Price wise not the most affordable given that the food was quite simple, the prices didn’t make that much sense.

Small Dutch restaurant with chalk board menu. Food was delicious with generous portions. Service friendly and a hoot!

Brilliant traditional Dutch restaurant, unfortunately one of the very few not just in Rotterdam, but the Netherlands, that are still surviving. Incredible food, fantastic service, and so much value for money you’ll be ashamed to pay the amount on the bill! Go there before it disappears and all you’re left with are chain restaurants!

Great tiny family run place with traditional Dutch fare. We had schnitzel and the 'daily plate' of pork in mushroom sauce. The desserts were super: a warm banana in rum sauce, warmed apricots in rum, and strawberries with delicious ice cream.

It's difficult to find traditional Dutch food in Rotterdam, the food scene is generally quite international. But we are so glad we've found this gem, a real Dutch restaurant where the locals go. The food is freshly homemade and absolutely delicious. We ordered the beef stew and fried cod, both are really good. The owner is so lovely and friendly too, she even translated the menu in English for us😄 We would definitely come again when we are next in Rotterdam.

This is a cosy little restaurant that serves traditional Dutch dishes. The service is informal and very friendly. We booked in advance on the phone and they accommodated us as a group of ten.

This restaurant took me right back to my grandmothers kitchen. Fresh made Dutch cuisine and everything from start to finish was excellent. Thanks to Bea for being a wonderful host to us!

Yelp
My husband and I dined here for dinner and had a great experience. We ended up having to search what each menu item was online because the menu was not in English and our servers English was not the best but we made it work. It was the stoofvlees with a glass of red wine for my husband and the kalfsbiefstuk champignons with a glass of rose for me. Both came with a side of fries. The food was amazing. This spot is legit and is a must visit.

Yelp
I have such fond memories of stopping by here with my husband on a chilly Fall evening. Delfshaven is beautiful and has some of the oldest architecture in the Rotterdam area as it survived the bombings of WW2. It's romantic and full of old wood, fireplaces, and cozy places to grab a warm bite and a cold beer. We were greeted by the owners, who were so nice to us. It felt like we were eating at an Aunt and Uncle's house. The chef popped back into the kitchen and started cooking. We had a delicious, savory soup with sausage. Ever get happy over soup? I rarely do, but this soup had that extra something that makes you realize that there's an art to it. So, so good. I loved meeting these owners and I'm so happy we came by here on a whim. Stop in here for a something comforting, settle in and take in what it's like to be in this town, in this country. Enjoy the warmth of the fire and the hosts. Have a beer for me, I wish I was there right now.
