Het Pomphuis

While hearing about this great place I was really tempted to visit it myself aswell, while being welcomed and handing over my coat I was lead to my table where I could enjoy of the sunset view in the many windows they have in this marvellous place which is based in the old out of service pump housing which brings over a very nostalgic feeling, I ordered the steak with fries aside which was very tasty and a catch for the eye. The sanitation area was very clean aswell which I find very important in this kind of high standard restaurants. The staff was friendly and gave you the opportunity to have a moment for reading the menu without feeling hasty to make a decision. At the end I couldn't resist ordering the Créme brûlée which I still haven't had any regrets from since this was one of the best I had, definitely a place worth your visit also perfect for private dinners because of the nice atmosphere and perfectly fine interior.

Being here for several times , really like the atmosphere and decorations here, service always great. However, today’s suggest menu first hang and amusement are both tartar.I’m not a big fan of pork, but the lomo main dish is really lovely. The wild duck is also great. Mussels soup is with smoked paling in it, add more flavor. Strawberry Dessert really with BIG strawberry, maybe cut it into pieces can be very helpful since I don’t have knife then. Whole experience is 4 star.

What an unexpected surprise! We actually went for visiting the Port House, but then passed this restaurant. We decided to give it a go, and it was worth it. Friendly service, good wine, tasty food. We went for a 2-course lunch, hamachi/chapati and veal, so good! Nice ambiance, no regrets.

We had lunch here because of our civil wedding, and it was fantastic! Top service and delicious food! All our guests were happy with the menu (including vegetarian options), and the servers provided excellent service. They also had some pleasant details that we were not expecting. Fully recommended and even more if you want to organise a group lunch at the Mezzanine.

Amazing location, great tasty food and a menu that will easily have your next favourite dishes. Save room for dessert because it is sooo worthy

Industry style, the high roof gives an unlimited space.nice food, both fish and meat, only the wine can be improved. The glass for champagne can be thinner

The best steak tartare, damn that was amazing. Other dishes we sampled? Starter; crispy duck with fois gras. It was seriously tasty but the duck rolled in thin pancake was a bit dry and chewy. Main: Black Angus beef. Truly tasty. Was grilled to perfection which is truly a challenge when you ask for medium/rare. Steak tartare as a main, ..(sigh)... seriously delicious. If you’re a meat eater this is one to order. Desserts: we really shouldn’t have ordered dessert but...it was Friday night and the weather was fine. Chocolate mousse. Wow. That should be called Death by chocolate. Too much, too rich, too decadent, too delicious. A true dessert for the chocolate lover. Creme brûlée. The first brûlée ever I could t finish. Creamy, rich and prepared perfect. Tasty and spot on. We finished off with some coffee which also comes with delicious cookies. One negative. They serve Nespresso coffee. Nespresso is not something you can serve in a restaurant, just not done. Overall I can highly recommend Het Pomphuis. BUT, word of warning(!) make a reservation. Bon Appetit.

This is a special restaurant to visit before they close at the end of the year due to some construction that will happen around. Beautiful and very unique restaurant at a great location and great service Had a couple vegetarian options that were beautifully presented

Absolutely stunning setting if you want to impress someone... A magnificent terrace by the water, a relaxed, intimate and luxury atmosphere. The service is correct and professional. Ideal with groups since there is a sea of space and comfortable seats. The menu is a terrific option. But for all of this, prepare to pay.... In my case, only for special occasions

Wow! This is one fantastic place to go for that special meal. It is North of the City within the Antwerpen Docks. You will feel more at ease if you dress up. It is, as the name suggests, the old docks pumphouse and if you go down the stairs in the front, you can see all the existing machinery. We went there to celebrate my seventieth birthday and although we had a lovely bottle of wine and a three course meal, we got away with around £150. The waiter was perfect, we never saw him until I wanted something. Then I would look up and he would be by my elbow. He seemed to know when I wanted him a few seconds before I know myself. He took charge of the bottle and filed our glasses low, and came back whenever we got to the bottom, about five refils on all. Our bottle lasted the whole meal and there was no pressure to drink more. (I did have an Armagnac afterwards though!) The food was beautifully cooked, beautifully presented and the portions were ideal for a three course meal - you don't go to a restaurant like this for a one course meal. The service was excellent but at the same time very leisurely and we had the impression we could have stayed there all afternoon if we wished. We will definitely be going back.

Unique location, impeccable Staff, frequently used for business dinners. Good, solid French cuisine. One of best bussines-restaurants in Antwerp, next to river Scheldt. No unforgetable experience, but still 5 stars.

Outstanding place, great atmospher in the Antwerp harbour docks, the food is great, very nice service and great presentation of the dishes. I really enjoyed having lunch there
