8 great outdoor adventures to put on your travel bucket list in 2024 - SilverKris
"A peaceful, car-free island in the Princes' Islands archipelago perfect for exploring by bicycle along an approximate 6km loop; cyclists pass Victorian-style wooden homes, Byzantine-influenced rooftops and cerulean sea views, then can pause at local cafés to sample simple treats such as a regional grilled cheese sandwich." - Michelle JN Lim and Tamaryn Kong
Off the radar: Pine trees and cerulean seas off the coast of Istanbul - SilverKris
"A car-free, leafy island that feels like a quieter, more intimate alternative to the busiest nearby isles. Byzantine-era architecture, orange-tiled roofs and Victorian wooden homes dot the hillside, reflecting Greek, Armenian and Jewish influences, while pine-clad roads and cliffside stretches open onto sweeping views of the Sea of Marmara. The roughly 6km coastal circuit is easily cycled in short bursts between shade and panoramic lookouts; one can circumnavigate on foot in under two hours but will want to linger to hammock on a cliff, watch boats in a horseshoe bay, or enjoy postcard-perfect solitude away from summer crowds. Ferries from Istanbul take around an hour, and the island’s calmer atmosphere makes it a favorite for walkers and cyclists seeking nature, architecture and quieter seaside vistas." - Sarah Lempa
Such a beautiful island! It has this peaceful, timeless feel to it😊, pine trees everywhere and gorgeous old mansions. It's the perfect escape from Istanbul's chaos. Walked around, took it all in, and honestly didn't want to leave. Definitely worth the ferry ride❤️

An adorable island with lots of shops and food options. The 30-45 min ferry to the island was pleasant and schedules are posted on the island for easy planning. There is a scenic walk around the island and picnic areas overlooking the water. The locals are very friendly.

One of the Prince Islands with beautiful nature and panoramic view of the Marmaras sea, from the top of the hill (which is existing a religious school and a Greek Orthodox monastery). Small cozy port which have connections with the other Prince Islands.

This was the only island i visited while i was in Turkey. It took about hour from Eminonu harbor to Heybeliada. Despite it was Saturday the island wasnt full of tourist so you could really enjoy explorig neighbourhoods and nature around island. If you want to completeley go around island it takes you 2 hours walking but its worth of it. I got some information from guards protecting some kind of object and from local people. The orthodox church ineae harbour is also beautiful with lot of decoration and religious icons. The only bad experience was that the churchkeeper because he was rude. He didnt allow me to see the liturgy held that day, even i was behind the doors. The other one was kind.
