Chef Alexia Duchêne’s Grub Street Diet

"I try a mango coconut drink at Hey Tea that I saw on Instagram; it’s a bit too sweet and rich enough to be a dessert, though the bits of tapioca are fun." - Paula Aceves, Ryan Inzana

I came here about two weeks ago with my sister-in-law. She had tried this place before and wanted me to try the boba with her. She ordered the Cloud Mango, and I got the Coconut Mango Blue. To be honest, neither of our drinks were my favorite. I tried her Cloud Mango, and the mango flavor tasted a bit off. My Coconut Mango Blue was decent, but they added way too much of the blue syrup. I actually like the blue flavor, but it was overpowering and took away from the coconut and mango. I wish the drink had more balance stronger coconut and mango with just a hint of the blue syrup. My husband ordered the Brown Sugar, and it was extremely sweet, even for a brown sugar drink. As for the shop itself, it was very fast-paced and more of a grab and go spot since there’s no seating. The floor was also a bit dirty that day, but it was raining, so that might’ve been why. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t impressive either. I’d give it a 3/5 there are definitely better boba places I’ve tried.

My cousin took me here after the mall to enjoy some boba, one of our favorite sweet treats. Apparently, my cousin had been to HEYTEA before and had a good experience but this location was off putting to say the least. Immediately after approaching the building, we noticed it was busy and small. It’s important to note that we had ordered online about 20 minutes before we actually arrived and entered the building. I was hit with a stench and I realized the place itself was pretty dirty. But that’s not the kicker… Inside the boba shop to the right is an entry to a hallway with a short curtain. Sitting on the floor, picking her nose, scrolling on Facebook, and drinking boba was an employee in full uniform. Yes, she was picking her nose. It appeared as if she was on break but that doesn’t excuse the inappropriate, and frankly disgusting behavior that could be seen by the customers. It was unprofessional and unsanitary. Before I even said anything about it to my cousin, we both made eye contact with each other, looked at her, and made eye contact again. That’s how I know it was very noticeable. On top of that, the website we ordered the drinks on had said our drinks were ready for maybe about 10-15 minutes before they actually were. I get it, they were busy, but we waited much longer than the estimated time it said the drinks would be ready. Not the mention waiting in the stinky, dirty, packed, boba shop. The drinks itself were nothing special in my opinion and I wouldn’t order it again but I don’t blame the shop for that because I wanted to try something new. Anyways, I would not come again for fear that my drink would contain boogers. On the bright side, the drinks were aesthetic!

If this place didn’t go viral because of Lisa, I don’t think I would’ve stopped by. Compared to other boba places in the area, the boba was just average, but the drinks are definitely pricier. Their menu offers a decent variety of drink types, but not many fruit teas, which is what my sister tends to lean towards. A majority of the drinks were quite heavy with real fruit, but they didn’t have many light and refreshing options. * Coconut Mango Blue: 7/10 - good, but couldn’t really taste the spirulina * Cloud Jasmine Tea (Original): 8/10 - good but nothing mind-blowing * Cloud Mango: 6/10 - basically a mango mash; could barely taste the tea at all since it was so thick * Brown Sugar Bobo (Topping): 8/10 - nice texture but overly sweet Very rarely do I see boba shops charge $1 for a topping, but when they do, I’m expecting top-tier boba flavor and a decent portion as well. They’re located in the corner of a plaza, so finding a parking spot shouldn’t be too difficult. The overall setup of the shop was a bit too unorganized and hectic for my taste. There was a kiosk inside the shop to place orders, but the interior is so tiny that it felt very overcrowded. My friends and I just ended up looking up the menu and ordering through the app. We were surprised to learn that it would take over 10 minutes for our drinks to be finished since we only ordered 4 of them and there were tons of workers in the back. Overall, nothing mind-blowing or worth spending your money on.

Google
So much love with your drink, especially the popular ones Coconut mango and Matcha cloud coconut blue. The matcha is a must try drink. Its really different from other tea brands. Should have more options for milk tea 😄 and your black boba is good too. However, you required to order on the machine but you turn it off and dont let customers know. Sometimes, you want to order at the desk and sometimes you change

Google
i love heytea so much. it is my go to spot for tea. their passionfruit blast is so refreshing, and don't even get me started on the cloud foam, it's light, creamy, and delicious! i would say though, it can get crowded but their service is quick as well. definetely would recommend.

Pantea A.

Google
One of the best bubble teas I’ve had! The tea was perfectly balanced—not too sweet—and had a strong, fresh flavor. The boba pearls were warm, soft, and chewy with just the right bounce. Tons of flavor options and great customization. Definitely a go-to spot for bubble tea lovers.

Google
The drinks here are very good - maybe even the best in the area. I like the red blossom milk tea w/boba and the cloud crisp grape. They don’t have as many milk tea options as other stores but what they do have is very high quality One thing to consider is that this place is take out only! The location is very small, there is no seating and the parking can be very difficult. I strongly recommend placing an order ahead of time with the App. The wait times here can be long, it can get hot here in the summer, and there is no AC.

Google
Heytea is amazing! Lightning-fast service— got my drink in no time! The drinks are absolutely delicious, fresh, and flavorful. Totally satisfied— highly recommend! Perfect for social media or a quick review!

Yelp
Just realized that I've never made a review for the love of my life. I love their Coconut Mango Boom. That's practically all I have to say!

Yelp
Heytea is a pretty popular spot in Irvine for boba drinks. Came on a friday night and it was pretty busy. Ordering is through an ipad and they call out your order number when it's ready. You probably could order online, as it seemed that most people came to the store with their orders already made. My wife likes their Mango Grapefruit Boom, which has Mango, Grapefruit, and Coconut milk. I went with a Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. Their default settings are for mild sweetness; however, for me, I would have preferred things more "regular sweet". For my wife's fruit drink, most of the sweetness came naturally from the fruits. Overall, I felt that it was an okay experience. The "default" flavoring of the drinks was less sweet than I'd prefer, tea quality was average, the wait times were long (unless you order ahead of your arrival), and prices were higher than average.

Yelp
OVERALL : Finally had a chance to try HeyTea after hearing so much hype about it! I ordered via the app and it was super simple and quick. Bonus points for their app being cute and with a clean interface. I was able to use one of the welcome app coupons for my first order! The shop smelled like tea when I arrived for pickup which was a great sign. Their drinks were delicious and the drink label was informative. Will def be back! PARKING : Parking lot shared with the plaza; I was able to find a spot right in front of the shop FOOD/DRINKS : - Wicked x HeyTea Matcha - pink pomelo cloud + matcha latte - Black Tea Latte - black tea + milk - Coconut Mango Bloom - mango + coconut milk + sago + coconut milk jelly Every drink felt very hand-crafted, not like a mass produced drink / overly sweet with any syrups. Loved that you can adjust the milk type, sweetners, toppings, etc. Great tea flavor and fresh fruit made everything delicious.

Yelp
HeyTea is an extremely popular boba chain from China. This spot in Irvine is always so packed, so I recommend ordering online for pickup to avoid waiting forever for your drink. We didn't do so and waited roughly 20 minutes for our drink. I got the Triple Matcha with extra matcha, and boy was that a little too much at 9 PM. I think it is a good matcha drink, but it is definitely a little too matcha loaded, so I would recommend something else. It is an awkwardly placed store as there is not much space inside, and everyone ends up crowding outside. Overall, HeyTea is a pretty good boba spot to grab a good drink, but don't stay to hang out.

Yelp
okay updating this review because I feel like I've had better experiences now that heytea is more established. I still think there are better spots out there with more premium quality but I would come to heytea for their specialities which are more dessert like drinks such as smoothies. Coconut mango boom and it's mango sago is yummy yummy! 10/10. I prefer more pure tea lattes personally when it comes to drinks, ifl those are slightly above avg here. Also in terms of price, every boba spot is almost the same when it comes to price lol inflation but heytea is most definitely premium tea which is reflective of their quality. Solid spot in Irvine! Would def keep coming back. Also u can order on the app, it's quick and pretty accurate on wait time ;)

Yelp
Jeffrey Heytea is cool. You order on a single Kiosk and there's always people loitering outside. There a jasmine diffuser inside, which is a treat for your senses. There's also a TV with order numbers so you know when to ask for your drink. As for the actual drinks, the mango cloud is a little icy (with a few ice chunks and not as smooth as I prefer) and it was a little bit watered down (still AMAZING though). The coconut blue is such a striking color. It tastes good too! I really like the coconut jelly here, it has good flavor. Also, the blue being made of spirulina made me feel good about my drink choice. The line here is usually out the door but I enjoyed my drink here. Heytea? More like yay tea!
google avatar

Allyssa C.

Yelp
I always order on the HeyTea app and it's super convenient. There's usually a lot of people outside the store, so having online ordering as an option is really nice, especially since the store is on the smaller side. The drinks are pretty good, but I do think that they haven't been as consistent with making the drinks. The Mango Coconut Boom used to be so good, but lately it's been too much coconut in the drink and it completely overpowers the mango. It used to be the perfect blend of both flavors. It's still enjoyable, but I hope they can be more consistent. It was also my first time trying the Kale Boost Tea, and it was nice and refreshing so I would consider getting it again next time.

Yelp
It took me a while to finally try Heytea. I had to wait until the lines were shorter because this place is really that popular and I do not want to stand that long in line. I have ordered my drinks for pick up to avoid the lines, but I have encountered times where my order said it is ready for pick up and I still had to wait for my drinks to be made when I got there. There are no seats inside. It is intended for customers to order their drinks, get their drinks, and go. I have only tried a few of the drinks: triple supreme matcha latte, matcha cloud coconut blue, kale boost tea, and cloud matcha latte. My favorites are the matcha cloud coconut blue and kale boost tea. Most of the drinks do use milk (contain dairy).

Yelp
The only thing I don't like is it super packed no clear system of what line is for what.. Today they didn't have a customer service so you can speak one on one to order with an employee. Only ordering through kiosk or online. Wait is another 20-30 mins. Drinks are super good and refreshing I love the coconut mango boom and grapefruit mango boom. Ambiance is small but nice and aesthetic

Yelp
* a global beverage chain founded in China that is known for its signature cheese teas and fresh fruit teas * some of my favorite menu items are: Coconut Mango Blue Coconut Mango Boom Mango Grapefruit Boom Crisp Grape Boom Cloud Mango 8/10

Yelp
Tried HeyTea when we were in Singapore and loved the fruit tea drinks they offered. I was excited to see one in the Irvine area when we visited the area. First location in US that I have tried. There was a line when I got there but the line moved quickly. Next time around will order on the app and it will be faster. My favorites are Crisp Grape Boom and Fluffy Cloud Crisp Grape. I ordered Crisp Grape Boom in Irvine but was a little disappointed as the grape was not blended well at all compared the one I had in Asia. Perhaps they are new and needed to work on the consistency. I am looking forward to trying out more HeyTea and hope it will not disappoint.

Yelp
Didn't love this spot... To order, you can either use the touch screen menu/kiosk (they only have one) or you can scan the QR code and order on your phone (I didn't do this but I would probably say this is the better option). The flaws start here because the location of the kiosk, at least the time of day when I went, was perfectly in the sunlight so it was extremely hard to see the screen. I can see how this can start a line to build up, as it may take a long time for some people to order. It also sits up pretty tall, so I had to stand on my toes to try and see the items at the top. Just not a great user experience in my opinion. I ordered the Coconut Mango Boom and it was really tasty. The mango was very fresh and delicious, although whatever they use to sweeten their drinks still tasted artificial (even though I chose the alternative option). Lastly, the service was so bland. Nobody said anything the entire time I was there except for calling out numbers. There was no customer service experience here at all. Inside is very bland as well, there's not a single seat so it's definitely a grab & go spot. Kind of a bummer there's nowhere to sit outside either. Overall, just not worth my time to come here and I left a bit disappointed!

Yelp
Even though we live nearby, we didn't hear too much good things about this place, but when we finally decided to try it after, we can see the hype. We haven't tried much but the coconut mango boom is a hit, especially with the sago in the drink. It's fairly priced as well so pretty satisfied. We also tried the supreme brown sugar bobo milk tea, which was just okay compared to some other places. Parking can be but crowded but you can order online and get it quick.
google avatar

Catherine N.

Yelp
My first time having Heytea and the worker recommended the Triple Matcha. I didn't realize it came with a mochi jelly, which added a really weird texture to the drink. It tasted like I was drinking slimy matcha/milk. It was very crowded on a Friday night, you can order on the kiosk or through the cashier. Next time I would try a different drink!
google avatar

Arya R.

Yelp
I don't even like boba tea drinks but I was very pleasantly surprised here. We got the grapefruit boom and the simple jasmine latte but both exceeded my expectations. Order ahead online via the app because the line is INSANE and people crowd in like sardines hahaha. The grapefruit boom had a thin layer of grapefruit slush and pieces of the flesh and then had fresh tea. It was refreshing and balanced. We enjoyed the jasmine latte as well, it had a strong tea flavor that wasn't masked by the milk/cream/sugar. The tea was good enough that it could hold its own. I'm annoyed at how much I like it
google avatar

Yelp
I always see a line of people outside of this place in Irvine so when I visited this plaza I decided to give Heytea a try. Looking at the menu, it was obvious to me that they really are pushing people to drink things outside of tea? I decided to order... Coconut Mango Blue - 3 / 5 The drink itself has a heavy coconut and mango taste along with slices to it. I wasn't sure what the blue piece of the drink was, food coloring perhaps? There was a little bit of tea at the very bottom but I felt like I was drinking a blend of desert in my drink rather then a beverage. I didn't feel my thirst quenched and actually felt a little thirsty afterward. The tea was minimum and the contents inside my drink was pretty heavy. I was a little full from it as a result. I'm not sure I would recommend it to someone that's thirsty. There was no where to sit inside and you will be paying premium at $6.99 for the drink with some up to $7.99. The service is unfortunately quite slow despite them having like 4-5 people behind the counter. For me personally, I waited for 15 minutes with 3 parties in front of me before I got my drink. If you see this store, I'm sure it'll strike your curiosity but once you have your drink and you come to your senses....you'll realize to yourself that at $7.99, this is at peak pricing even for premium boba and there are plenty of alternatives at this price point.
google avatar

Monica N.

Yelp
i came here with my friend and got the coconut mango boom and it was so refreshing and delicious. it's not too sweet and i love the texture of this drink. the service was great! they get pretty busy so i recommend to order online since it'll be faster than waiting in line. it's pretty small inside and there's a self kiosk you can order at but no tables so keep that in mind :)
google avatar

Philip L.

Yelp
The drinks are pretty dang good here. Only problem is the droves of people constantly piling in the tiny store front only to pour out onto the sidewalk and parking spaces preventing anyone else from getting within 20 feet of the front doors let alone enter the store. Their online app is easy to use for ordering and tracks your order which is convenient. The last time I ordered using the app there were 88 drink ahead of my order (no joke) so I just wandered around the 99 ranch market in the same plaza for about 20 mins only to return to an app that said my drink was ready but it actually wasn't. Had to wait an additional 5 mins to get my drinks. IF you ever show up and there isn't a crowd in front, count your lucky stars and get your order in ASAP. Even though this location is so busy, the coconut mango boom is worth every penny and the 20+ minute wait. Even so, the sheer amount of people in attendance make the whole experience an exercise in "hurry up and wait" so I can only justify four stars.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the brown sugar milk tea with boba and i understand the hype! The boba is so good!! There's always a huge line but it moves really fast. You can also order ahead and it seems like they make the bobas quickly so you don't need to wait too long. Reasonable prices about $7-$8 which is pretty common nowadays. Definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Jessie Z.

Yelp
Here we go again. Bogo coconut mango boom. This time more prepared, remember no online order or kiosk when they have these specials with high volume so yes you gotta wait in line. The line moves fast because everyone is here for the same thing and the staff is efficient in conveyer belt drink making. Please get the staff a megaphone for number callouts lol. I think the thing with heytea and me is that the teas here dont have much "body" they end up being a bit on the watery side ( but then again its "fresh ". The coconut mango boom is better than the other drinks I had, so it seems their fruity blended drinks are the key. I had a good mix of mango puree and coconut jelly, but it can be not always consistent. Overall I see it more as a 4-5$ quality drink place, but I guess cuz fresh ingredients. Chill staff
google avatar

Nhu V.

Yelp
You can tell that this place is good by the amount of people waiting outside. For such a long line, the wait was actually not too bad (at least on the day I went). The store is small but there are 2 kiosks for self-order and a QR code for online ordering. There is also a screen that displays the status of your order, which I appreciate. I got a coconut mango boom. It reminds me of the mango sago dessert, but in a cup. Delicious, flavorful, and indulgent, but not overly sweet. My only critique is that the temperature of the drink varies - some parts are colder, but others are room-temperature/warm-ish. It would be a lot more enjoyable if the drink is evenly cold, especially on a hot summer evening. Would love to come back to try their other drinks. :)

Michelle C.

Yelp
Love heytea! Just be prepared for a long line up or order ahead on the app!! Sometimes if it's super busy the app ordering system would be unavailable... Love most of their drinks! Especially the Mango Boom! Perfectly not too sweet and refreshing! Quite pricey for a boba but I say it's worth for a sweet treat! Just wish it wasn't so pricey and lines aren't so long but definitely super tasty! Small but minimal interior, no seating inside.

Yelp
I've been so excited to try Heytea and finally went with my sister. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the hype. When we arrived, the store was crowded with people waiting around. It took me a moment to realize there wasn't an actual line--just groups standing around waiting for their orders. Ordering is self-serve: you can scan a barcode to order on your phone, use a touchscreen kiosk, or try to catch a team member at the front. We used the self-service machine. The inside of the store was warm and cramped, which already felt a bit uncomfortable. On top of that, there was a strong bleach smell in the air, which was off-putting. After placing our order, we waited about 30 minutes for our drinks. Triple Supreme Matcha: I was really looking forward to trying this one, but it ended up being incredibly disappointing. When I picked it up, it was completely room temperature, with no ice. It either melted while sitting on the counter due to the inside temperature or melted while being made--either way, it wasn't how the drink was meant to be served. I had high hopes for Heytea, but the combination of the uncomfortable atmosphere, long wait, and disappointing drink left a bad impression. Sadly, I probably won't be returning.
google avatar

Kenny L.

Yelp
I kept hearing about Heytea from friends so I had to try it. There's a discount using the app if it's your first time on it. We got the coconut mango bloom and the brown sugar boba drinks. I really liked the sago and I thought the mango had great flavor. Side note, the room smelled of a strong jasmine walking in and it was delightful.
google avatar

Natalie Y.

Yelp
I've always stolen sips from my siblings so I knew heytea was good but never went out of my way to get my own. I finally got my own and i inhaled my grapefruit mango boom. it's just like mango pomelo sago (my fav hong kong dessert) but in drink form! I also love the option to get it with 0 cal sweetener (it tastes exactly the same and has zero additional charge) its definitely better to have the app and order from there so you can pick up when its ready and not wait in that huge line or loiter around the store. cant say much about service since i just went inside to pick up my drink but it seems a little chaotic as for the ambiance, most people are just waiting outside for their drinks. youre only inside if you want to order
google avatar

Chau N.

Yelp
This was my first time coming here after hearing so many good things about their matcha. I stopped by around 6PM, and it was super crowded. By the time I got to the front, most of the matcha drinks were already sold out. I ended up getting the Cloud Coconut Blue and the Supreme Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. The total came out to $15.98. The Cloud Coconut Blue was super light and refreshing, and I liked that it didn't have that strong coconut aftertaste. The Supreme Brown Sugar Milk Tea tasted like any classic brown sugar milk tea, but their boba was really good. Even with the crowd and long wait, I really enjoyed both drinks and would definitely come back to try more. I also liked that their drinks aren't overly sweet.
google avatar

Polly H.

Yelp
Pretty sweet delicious drinks but chaotic order on the kiosk and look out for your number didn't taste the tea in the mango drink and temperature varies in the drink lol some parts are warm and other cold kinda weird

Yelp
I did not know this was such a popular spot when I walked by to try it out. It just happened to be in the same plaza as my dinner spot, so I checked it out. They are known for their Triple Matcha, which was popularized by K-Pop star LALISA. I got the Coconut Mango Sago, which was good, I wish that the coconut milk was either made more of like a slushy or made with some thicker coconut cream to be able to stand against the fruitiness of the mango. I would definitely come back to try a few more of their items, especially the matcha. Be careful, the lines here can get really long! You order off a kiosk and I waited 15 minutes after I ordered to receive my drink.
google avatar

Diana R.

Yelp
We came here after having dinner at a nearby restaurant in the same center. The space was filled with a lot of people waiting outside and inside for their drinks. It also appeared they were just friends hanging out outside of this little shop as there is no indoor or outdoor seating. You can order through the kiosk inside to the left of the front counter or you can order at the register with the staff. I ordered the coconut mango boom. I've never had a drink like this. Instead of Boba, it comes with sago. It was creamy and delicious. After you place your order, be sure to keep an eye out on the screen located inside to the right of the counter up above to look out for your number to be called. Enjoy!

Yelp
Drinks: Triple Supreme Matcha Latte Price: $7.99 (BOGO) Overall: 7/10/2025 I jumped on the words: "bogo" and "matcha." I never tried HeyTea before and my friends have talked about it so I had some sort of an expectation. Arrived around 7:30pm and the line was long but, it went by kind of fast. They took our orders quickly and our order can be tracked on their app. The drink took about 20 minutes since there was a lot of orders. I order less sweet and it was perfect! Def would want to go back to try their different drinks.

Yelp
Heytea is wildly popular in China and had been proliferating in the US. I first had it in NYC and was hooked. I could have an endless supply of coconut mango booms and never get tired of that drink. I never really cared about the esthetic, although it was nice to escape the heat in the various Heytea locations all over the city, plus it always strongly smelled of jasmine tea, so I did enjoy actually drinking my drink in store every once in awhile. Mostly, I'm grabbing it to go and scarfing it down within minutes. I'm sad there's not as many locations in SoCal where I live but hope that changes soon. The demand is there! I had 52+ drinks ahead of me at the Irvine location. I'm so addicted I now need to order two Coconut Mango Booms!

Yelp
Hm, 3.5 sounds about right for weekends (or passable 4 for weekday splurges). From the lightness of the foam to flavorfulness of the milk, I enjoyed the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea quite a bit. Is it worth $10? Probably not. Is it still worth trying? Definitely! All I know is that the location hits a nice bobo craving post-Menya Henabi, Tai Chi or Wingstop. Despite being in a pretty sleepy plaza, it is best to avoid going on weekends since wait times can be as bad as 1+ hours and parking can leave a lot to be desired. Also unless you're planning on chilling at the market, there's not too much waiting space inside and it be hot right now !!

Yelp
I've had Heytea in Singapore before and really liked it! Really happy to have it again in the US. :') I arrived around 3:45pm on a Monday afternoon. It wasn't very busy so I ordered on the kiosk and my drink came out a few minutes later. They also have an app you can preorder ahead of the time which is nice. I ordered the cloud coconut blue and it's so good! I love the matcha foam they used and the drink had a nice coconut flavor. It also wasn't too sweet which is good for my taste. I've tried their supreme matcha latte before and want to try the other matcha drinks. I'll definitely come back! :D

Yelp
My guilty pleasure? The mango smash drink, hands down. It's definitely on the heavier, dessert-like side, so make sure to come with some room. The fruit is already soaked in syrup, so it's not something you can really adjust for sweetness... but it's totally worth it. I crave it all the time! Pro tip: skip the long lines by ordering through their app. You'll get 15% off your first order and start collecting points. Super easy pick-up experience too! Just a heads up! this isn't a sit-down spot and there's no bathroom, which is a bit of a bummer. I do wish the ambiance was nicer, but the drinks speak for themselves. If you're a mango lover, this one's a must.

Yelp
There's always a line here, but I waited less than 15 minutes. The drinks are definitely worth the hype

Yelp
Swung by at 8pm and still there was a long line. I don't drink caffeinated drinks in the evening but I happen to be visiting so I had to try HeyTea simply because my friend highly recommended it. The tea was good. Be prepared to wait for a while though. Is it good enough for the wait? Probably not. A lot of the drinks on the menu were fruity drinks. I wanted to try their tea so I opted for the Red Blossom Milk tea which was a simple milk tea. I gotta say the flavor was quite unique and I enjoyed it. My son had the surprise matcha lattes which was also delicious. There's a lot some matcha jelly thingy on the bottom. I'll be back if the lines are shorter which I highly doubt.

Yelp
I loved HeyTea in Rowland Heights, so was excited they had another location. Finished half my drink & found a long piece of hair in it... Hopefully, they'll be more careful.

Yelp
I'm so happy there is a Hey Tea in Irvine! I used to frequent the Rowland Heights one but it shows "closed" on Yelp now, sad. The parking is challenging to find and the plaza is always busy, so be ready for that! We used their app to order ahead of time. It can get a little busy so we love the option of ordering ahead of time. Right when you enter the shop, you can smell the fragrance of the tea. From this store, I've gotten the matcha supreme, cloud coconut blue, and coconut mango boom tea. I love them all!!! They're so good and flavorful. I highly recommend the coconut mango boom tea on a hot day. It's very refreshing and the sago is the perfect touch. Their matcha is delicious and strong, not watered downed or too sweetened. I can't wait to try more drinks!

Yelp
They have teenagers running this store who don't know when to stop taking orders and assist the 25 patrons who have already ordered waiting in the store to get their drinks. 30+ minutes for one drink is ridiculous. I would have asked for a refund but there literally wasn't space and I'd have to wait another 30 min.

Yelp
not sure what the hype is but i ordered the mango coconut bomb and it was decent. it was a bit too liquidy for a slush and the mango tasted ok too. i ordered online to pick up so i wouldn't have to wait in line which i recommend because it can get crowded quickly. it's a small shop with no seating. there's not much room inside to wait so you may have to wait outside. overall, it's not worth it for $8 and there's way more places that taste better.

Yelp
Came here to see if the hype was real and I'm really glad I did. Even though the lines are always ridiculously long out the door, both times I've came so far it's a very quick process to order and receive your drink. So far I've tried the coconut mango boom, strawberry boom, green grape boom, and cloud coconut blue. Each one was surprisingly good, but my favorite is the coconut mango boom which reminds me of mango sticky rice dessert. I can't recommend this more and the price is on par with other tea places.

Yelp
Was this worth the hype of the line? If you have time! I got the Strawberry Boom which just tastes like strawberry tea with strawberry chunks and crystal boba. Super delicious and refreshing, but nothing crazy special. There are definitely other drinks to try that would make up for the line, but I didn't have the time to try and decipher the ingredients in their menu options! Overall, another boba spot on the list if you're in the area.

Yelp
The line for this place is just too long, even with the app and kiosk. I think if you're trying to get Heytea, definitely order online in advance and go there when you want to pick up.. otherwise, prepare to wait 45 minutes. This place is equally as good as Monterey Park, but I got the smoothie here this time and it's still soo good. Would I pay 8 dollars for it? no. So stick to the fruit teas lol.

Yelp
This review is solely for the Mango Coconut Boom. This drink is my go-to every time and hits (almost) every time! I'll say the quality of your drink usually depends on how busy they are, and they can get VERY busy. I'd recommend getting the app and ordering ahead. It's a pretty small store and can definitely feel chaotic when you're in there. Parking SUCKS because it's in a busy plaza with 99 Ranch and a couple other restaurants and businesses. But, I enjoy the drink so much every time I get it, so it's worth it to me.

Yelp
we ordered online and the order was quick and easy! the drinks were very yummy, we got the mango pomelo coconut sago(left) and the mango coconut sago(right). the shop itself was busy but if you order ahead to pick up it is fine. There was no parking so I had to wait in the car while my friend went in to get the drinks, definitely a pick up and go place.

Yelp
Ambiance: this Heytea store is not as good as other locations I've been to in LA and in SF, small shop and poorly maintained Service: the service wasn't particularly good, added too much ice even though asked for minimum, and forgot to pack the drinks despite that I have requested in the order Drink: standard Heytea menu, with seasonal special drinks Mango Grapefruit Boom - *** the drink is lack of flavors, grapefruit is barely even visible, inconsistent quality compared to other Heytea locations Price: not worth $8+ per drink for overall experience

Yelp
HeytTea has my heart! Yes, the boba shop scene is superrr saturated in Irvine, but you're missing out if you don't give HeyTea a try. They're a popular chain originating from China and they're know for having innovative drinks and absolutely amazing branding! I got their Grape Boom which is essentially a grape-flavored slushy with fruit bits at the bottom. Grape is one of my favorite fruits, however, grape flavored things tend to miss the mark for me. This was not one of those times! The grape flavor tasted fresh, natural, and not too sweet. The fruit bits at the bottom were actual halved grapes too! A really nice touch. Highly recommend this drink to any grape fanatics!
