HI Austin

The location was awesome. It was right on the lake, so you could walk outside and lounge, paddle board, or walk right there. Parking was a touch difficult, and the cleanliness wasn't the best in the bathrooms (female). The staff was also hard to get a hold of. I called twice and never got a response, plus waited at the front desk for 5 minutes to check in. Overall though, it was a great experience. I've been to many HI hostels, and I would certainly return to this location.

Great location. The hostel was right on the lake and offered great events during the week. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room itself was a little bit of a let down. The A/C was sketchy and made noises at all hours of the night and the room was humid and stuffy. The communal bathrooms and areas were always kept very clean.

I stayed here in Jan 07. The staff was friendly and helpful. The common area is a really nice space to just hang out. I had my own car and the onsite parking was useful. The showers are fine, but not for the very timid, but then they wouldn't want to share a room with a bunch of strangers anyway. Would stay again, next time I'm in town.

My first hostel experience and it was great. I shared room with five more people and they have small lockers inside of rooms in case you need to lock valuables. They have basic breakfast included: bread, fruit, coffee and cereal (still good but hope they could have more variety). Their staff is good too, Vo helped me during my stay, he got my 10/10 he was very nice and helpful.

A very well located hostel with the usual trimmings: free breakfast, wifi, daily activities. We enjoyed our stay but there is quite a strange smell in the rooms as it is close to a lake, that can also get very hot. Parking is available out front and the fresh towels are great. We experienced an eclectic mix of other guests here who weren't that social which could be off putting for some.

This was a very pretty and pleasant hostel. Drawback is that there are no electrical outlets by the beds, and locks for lockers are and extra charge. Rode my bike and walked along the path into town and it was a lovely way to see the city. Friendly staff.

Such a beautiful experience. The staff was exceptional...always willing to give advice, support, and accommodate. The bathrooms, common rooms, rooms, and grounds were all well maintained and beautiful. It's an $8.00 cab ride to downtown 6th street && about a $10 cab ride to congress street. It's located right on a beautiful beach as well.. I had an incredible time. Would definitely stay here again

One of the better hostel experiences of my life. Considering the size of the dorms and it being during SXSW, everyone was very respectful and quiet. Common area is nice, food/coffee in the morning is appreciated. free towels and showers clean. It's a little further out of town but the walk is nice and location is peaceful. Felt safe at any hour
