Hi Flanders Lier - Cultuurhostel Bed Muzet

This centrally located youth hostel is rather basic but has everything that's needed for a shirt stay to explore Lier or nearby cities such as Antwerp. The service is friendly and the breakfast is fine. Other youth hostels offer a bigger breakfast selection while the breakfast here was rather standard (sliced bread, spreads, cheese, ham, coffee, tea, cereal). The double room was clean and seemed modern, but lacked a table and chair.

Lovely place for bunk bed staying. Great facilities and tech supported hostel with good WiFi and great kitchen. Special shout out to Time who I interacted with on a daily basis who works there. Very helpful and compassionate and considerate. Made things a lot easier..🙇🏻‍♂️♥️

The hostel is located in an old monastery on the edge of the old town of Lier that has been totally renovated and unfortunately lost its old charme. You could actually call it sterile, but at least you might have a view into the nice old courtyard. My room was equipped with the usual hostel style bunkbeds and plastic covered matresses (you get what you pay for), whereas the ensuite bathroom has hotel qualities. A basic breakfast is included in the price, they outsourced it to a nearby breakfast cafe which has a real nice atmosphere. For the rest, the hostel has a nice common area and a fully equipped kitchen.

Clean and tidy rooms, a bit on the small side. The hostel happily accepted our booking for 56 visitors but the manager on reception fined our group 250 euros for him being called out in the early hours. The reception external doors have a doorbell and some of our group rang this to gain access when arriving back early in the morning. You are supposed to wave your room key in front of the entry pad for the doors to open but this was not explained to us, nor were there any instructions. The manager fined us 250 euros because he said he had no sleep due to attending the reception door. He also complained about noise levels, there were 56 of us!! If you can't handle it then he should not have accepted the booking. Nice enough place, breakfast is poor, manager needs sacking!!

I took 53 mild minded scooterists, when we arrived we sat in the lovely courtyard drinking beer. On the 1st eve after a wander around a beautiful town we decided once again to chat in the yard at the hostel. The following morning I was told we were to noisy & we were going to loose 250 of our 500 Euro deposit. We weren't abusive nor offensive just having a good time. The next eve a group of dutch lads stayed, very messy & noisy....nothing said? We travel in large groups every year for the past 10 years without 1 complaint. This is 1 rip off hostel we won't be returning to.

Bring your bike or rent one you will enjoy a very nice experience and peaceful stay!||The hostel is very well located, not too far from the center and right on the bike path to beaufitul rides. Even our teenager boys loved it!

Modern and well managed hostel with friendly staff, in a great location. The backpacker room I stayed in had an individual light and individual mains socket for each bed, so no queuing up to charge a phone!

Perfect location, friendly staff, clean room. Quite warm without airco during these hot 25/30 degrees days. But staff provided a fan to help with that.
