HI Gerês – Youth Hostel

Rooms were very cheap, so good value for money. The location is pretty close to some trailheads by car. The bed was ok. Service was good. Ample parking space. Showers work on a pulse button, that's somewhat inconvenient. Had bad luck with my dorm neighbours - they came in very noisy late at night, and were up early and also noisy. Of course that's not related to the property, just how dorms are - random.

Amazing place! Best value for money. 18 euro for great room with breakfast. Katya was very kind and helps us a lot where to visit. Also, great location - inside the forest.

BED BUGS!!! for the first time in my life i got bit by bed bugs. Really not cool from a hotel. I read some reviews and some people actually spotted some on their bed. Terrible experience i have bites all over my arms. Please please please fix that problem!

I just wish there were more stars for the location. Also the staff here at HI Gerês are so helpful and real. Thank you for the very restful time.

Awesome location in the nature. Rooms were not very clean and are not comfortable to rest. We decided to leave earlier than planned.

The view you get from this place is amazing, and to have this view for the price you pay, is definitely worth the buck. Very good breakfast and nice staff overall. Perfectly located, we had a really good weekend surrounded by nature and its sound. Cant wait for another trip! Ps: the simple rooms might have just one plug, so we gotta do what you gotta do to solve that, hopefully they can work on this. 😅

Brilliant value, huge complex with large lounge with pool table and log fire. Included huge buffet breakfast in price. No other food available apart from machine snacks and about 4kms away from shop/bar.

Extremely disappointed with our stay here. The showers were dirty and had mold. The outlets were are odd areas. The lightly was very poor and only had 1 light that worked. Our mattress was dirty and so I went to ask the reception to change rooms and she said they had no more rooms even without looking. While we were in the common sitting area deciding what we should do, someone came in asking for a room and the reception proceeded to tell them all the rooms currently available. Only good thing about this stay was the views and location. Do not recommend staying here.
