HI Hostel Lille Stéphane Hessel

Stayed with one other in a triple room which had plenty of space for us both: one single bed and bunk beds. It was all very clean and could not be faulted from the description. Our window looked out across a street and could be opened wide to let in air but also close a blind at night. Was surprisingly cheap as a last minute booking and we got what we asked for

I think this place is great! They do serve gluten free food! And the rooms are not bad they all have chargers and good beds! Food is or can gluten free and is great. They have a pool table as well. 4 beds a shower but no toilets but the public toilets are not that far. And they have a great shared balcony! Over all a great place if your visiting France like me.

The staff are very helpful and kind. The rooms were great! Depending on what you want to do on your trip this location is in a calmer area and further from the city centre which could be good or bad depending.

the rooms are ok, not pretty. for the same money i have stayed in much much nicer hostels. breakfast is very bad - not worth the money - rather go out to bakery and buy something tasty. showers are bad, but toilets were nice and clean

I had a pleasant experience at Auberge de Jeunesse de Lille. Nevertheless, one of our roommates was snoring a lot. Despite that, I was satisfied.

Great staff, rooms and facilities. They were very cleanliness of everything was impressive. The only downside is its location.

Excellent opportunities for students to meet people and practise speaking French. ||Kitchen has hob with 4 rings and microwave. ||Rooms were comfortable.

An ok value-for-money deal. You get what you pay for, which here means "not much". For 50 euros / night with breakfast included you can't expect 5* hotel experience. Pros - Great and helpful staff - Cheap Cons - private bathroom is smelly, and stained. - private shower has low water pressure, no detachable head. It's more of a public pool shower. - bright white light you can't turn off inside the room, ask the reception for a makeshift solution (a cardboard box). - breakfast quality is low. - fixed windows you can't open unless you ask the reception for a handle.

This place is great. The building itself is futuristic, certainly not like any other hostel I've seen. Everything is brand new and is well maintained with the room being spotless. All the staff I encountered were nice and helpful. I've only knocked off a star as it's a bit of a walk from central Lille and I couldn't find much nearby (except a supermarket) and some people may find the modernity a bit sterile (although it was great for my needs).
