HI Hostel Rijeka

Hostel in an old vila surrounded by Parks is a real gem. Inviting building and rooms with sea views. Rooms with bunkbeds are off different size and equiped with functional bathroom. The beds are comfortable and sleeping od goodbquality. breakfast is hostel standard but served in a Nice room. Personnel was extremly kind and attentive, providing lots of info about Town. there is free street parking. Location is good in a quet part od Town. There is a port but not to noisy. Hostel is spotless člean, nicely decorated with Rijeka photographs. There is also inviting garden with big treba, chairs and tables. Nice beaches are Just some minutes walk away and Town center is 15 minutes from the hostel . There is also public bus stop not far away and you can rent scooters on the street.

The room was average, definitely not worth the ~$100 we paid. The door handle fell off when we tried to leave for dinner 🙄 Also, the front desk person said we could go change some money before we paid and then instead insisted we pay by card. Make up your mind...🤔

This hostel is full of bedbugs! My boyfriend was bitten all over his body and had to spend the entire night in the living room because there were bedbugs everywhere. We had to wash all our clothes and belongings twice, and there are still items we cannot wash and don’t know what to do with. This situation caused us a lot of stress, completely ruined our trip, and the hostel staff didn’t even take responsibility or offer a refund. I strongly recommend that no one stays at this hostel unless you want to deal with this nightmare during your holiday.

Hostel in an old Villa is inviting and surrounded by park. I had the smalest room with one bunk bed. It was spotless člean as the rest of the hostel. There are bigger rooms with more bunkbeds and bathroom in each of tem. Rooms are off digferent shapes but all spacious and with some sea and park views. It was very quiet although there was a big group of children around. Classics breakfast is self servedin a fancy room dawnstairs. There are photographs of Rijeka all around and you can get all info about Town at the reception. All personnel was very attentive, kind and talkative. They even take care of two street cats - the orange one likes to be around people. Hostel is Just a few minutes walk grom the nearest beaches - some od them are really Nice. The Town center is about kilometer away, easy to walk. Going to Trsat castle for Best views is a bit harder but managable over a lot of steps or winding road. you can take public bus or renta a scooter on the street as well. Hostel offer Nice, čakam and safe stay.

It is really hard to find a weak point in this hostel, located near the city centre, close to industrial harbour, but with excellent sound isolation. The hostel is situated in a fabulous historical building with spacy and very clean rooms that are priced by many. Not to mention the terrace! I recommend it to any Rijeka visitor!

Some Reviews make it out to be really bad but it's decent. Definitely worth the price.

For the price you pay for it, it is okay. Good place if you wanna stay somewhere low budget but overall definitely bellow average. Showers and walls have mold, which is gross. A minus for me is that all rooms have only one key, which is outrageous. In a room I was in, fits eight people. My friend was traveling with me, but I didn't know the other four people. We only had one key so if you were to stay out long, you'd have to wake people up by knocking on the door if they locked it (I found myself in that situation sadly enough, and felt terrible). With one key, it makes your stay less dependent. I don't think it takes too much effort to make as many keys as there are beds. It is affordable, plus extremely convenient for the guests.
