Mosquito creek hostel is the perfect set up for a few friends to spend the night while getting ski days, hikes, or simply some mountain time in. We have been going for three years now and booking the two 12 bed dorms for our group for a weekend. It is so well equipped for cooking, bedding is provided (although we usually bring our own sleeping bags), the sauna is such a treat on a snowy evening, and a large common room for us all to hang out. It is a great set up for bringing friends or your family that aren't that into hard core camping, but are okay with being off the grid and using the outhouse! We love coming back here each year. Thanks HI mosquito creek!

Nothing is really ok in this hostel actually: it's a rustic place ok, but it isn't functional as well. So you don't have showers, you have to drive 20min to get one for free. But on top of that : wifi isn't really working, sometimes you don't have WiFi for days. Beds are too small and not good at all. You have no place to brush your teeth or change in intimacy. To do the dishes, you have a sink with no tap, to get water you have to go to a sink with no evacuation. The staff don't respond to "good morning" because he's too focused on his phone. It's not clean. All the dishes stink. We had to bring our own sponge and product because it was too dirty. Even the curtains are too small for the windows ! And for that, you pay the same price than a fully equipped hostel (there are two others places in the parc). I don't understand the hype around this place.

It was a phenomenal 4 day stay at the mosquito creek wilderness hostel. Clean and quiet dorm, well equipped kitchen, lots of storage room in the fridge. It is situated by a creek which was a great place to hang in the morning after walking up and in the evenings. We even had a dinner by the creek & sat there for a couple of hours. I also loved the evening fire and enjoyed myself listening to Music & chatting with a couple other guests. There are pit toilets which were clean. Water is available in one faucet in the kitchen but had to be carried in a beaker for cleaning vessels. There is also a sauna on property which we didn’t use. Limited WiFi. The first manager had WiFi on until 10:30pm at night and turned on for a couple of hours in the morning. The second one had it on until midnight & turned back on in the morning yet again . Fully recommend staying here if you’re visiting points of interest along the ice fields parkway. Plenty of hikes in the vicinity

We felt completely ripped off. We paid more than triple the price of a campsite to get fewer amenities and be incredibly uncomfortable. First off, they don't have showers. They weren't mentioned in the email sent the day before (even though you'd assume a hostel would have showers). You can, however, go to a hostel in Lake Louise Village (a 20-minute drive) to shower. The problem is we had just come from Lake Louise, and if they'd told us beforehand, we wouldn't have made the trip twice! The bathrooms are pit toilets, and there are no sinks (you brush your teeth in the forest). The kitchen is well-equipped but too small for all the guests. They turn off the Wi-Fi at night until 8 AM, when most people are already up for their excursions. They tell you you're paying for a 6-person room, but it's actually a 12-person room with a dividing panel in the middle. This means you hear all the noise from the other six people and share the same door (12 people coming and going at different times). But the absolute worst part was the heat at night; we could barely sleep, it was suffocating! When you know 12 people are sleeping in a room, you don't turn on the heater at 10 PM! This hostel is really expensive for what it is. Its best feature is the location, but you can enjoy that at the neighboring campground for much less money! A total rip-off, absolutely not recommended!

I recently stayed at this place and had a wonderful experience. The entire space was incredibly clean, and the surroundings were peaceful and calming. There was a cozy bonfire area, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. The accommodation included a bunk bed, along with separate rooms and washrooms for men and women, which was very convenient. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the basic necessities and utensils, and it was spotless. The living room was another highlight—warm and inviting, stocked with a variety of games, magazines, and books to enjoy during downtime. Additionally, the place was very budget-friendly, offering great value for money without compromising on quality. Overall, I had a great stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, and enjoyable retreat.

This is NOT a party hostel. It is a great wilderness hostel where you actually talk to people, and sit around a campfire or light up the wood fired sauna and gaze at stars or the moon, rather than stare blankly at your smartphone like other hostels. It is small, 2 coed dorms each having 12 beds, but even the dorms are quiet due to the absence of late night partiers. Oh, due to Covid, each cabin is somewhat divided into 2, 6 person sleeping areas for a total of 12 people in each of 2 cabins. A decent kitchen with fridge, stove and cooking utensils, a common area, and great manager (Richard) make me recommend this hostel highly for those looking for a rustic, warm, yet comfortable night’s sleep. And the outhouses are CLEAN and have no smell at all!! No worries! I really like the upgraded, wood burning sauna and highly recommend trying it. You might even see a bear bum or a bare bum around the sauna:) Haha! Both exist in this wonderful place!! Nature at it's absolute finest! Last thing I forgot to mention, there are 2 private cabins if you like with a shared kitchen between the 2 private sleeping areas if that works better for you. And you can still use the sauna and campfire pit, etc.

I stayed the night after a snowboard trip with friends and I will definitely be coming back in the future. It was an amazing experience. The other guests were friendly and respectful the rooms were clean and the sauna was awesome. Not have any service only added to the experience. Janet is also amazing! When I managed to forget my snow-pants, Janet quickly replied to my email and helped get them back to me.

My son and I really enjoyed our night at the mosquito Creek wilderness hostel. It is obviously a hostel and has no running water but nevertheless, whilst excepting all limitations was a fun and charming state. For me the biggest asset the hostel has is its location and the communal area with a wood fired stove together with the woodfired sauna. it gives a great opportunity to meet fellow travellers and to share stories that one simply does not get in a hotel . The hostel itself is very clean , although being a hostel except that everything is fairly rustic. There is a separate toilet block which is remote from the dormitories so a very short walk is required to go to the toilet. The toilets are essentially a drop pit so they are what they are, but they are clean and relatively new. It is what it is. You’re not going to die. The communal area is fantastic and there is an outdoor Boma where you can light a fire and share stories with fellow travellers whilst looking up at the sky (if you are lucky). The scenery is fairly stunning and is it any time you get stressed about not having luxuries I suggest you have a word with yourself, get real and remind yourself you are sleeping in the middle of nature is grandeur. It does not get any better than this.
