The hostel has severe soundproofing issues. While in your room, you will hear people walking in the hallway, using the bathroom, trying for the hundredth time to lock the bathroom sliding door that is in fact, broken, as is the sink in the other bathroom.
And I can’t even begin to describe how gross it is to have to use cutlery and plates washed by brushes and sponges that haven’t been changed for who knows how long.
On the bright side, the location is great, the common areas are spacious and sufficiently clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
And let’s face it, it is the most affordable option to stay in Penticton.
