Hi Proof Whisky & Spirits & Wine

Very disappointed with how management and owner handled business last night. After ordering a bottle of Boss Hog XII online, I called the next day (yesterday morning Dec 17, 2025) to ask if I could change my order from being shipped to just picking it up instead, since delivery time looked like it would be over a week due to the holiday season. Person I spoke with (unfortunately didn't remember name) shared that he wouldn't be able to change it and that I would need to cancel order I made online so I could just pick it up later that day and pay for it in person instead. When I arrived around close to 6pm, I met Hector (awesome staff) ...I mentioned it was my first time buying anything from this store and explained that I called in the morning to update that I'd be picking up my online order in person instead. Shared that I'd look around and buy a couple of other items since I was here. About 45 min later, after including 3 champagne bottles and another bottle of whisky in addition to the Boss Hogg, I was surprised to see that the price had changed to the tune of $50 more. I shared with Hector that I wanted to pay what I just paid online last night and surprised to see the price change. He called another co-worker, David (another nice gentleman) who shared that unfortunately he couldn't honor the price I had paid online...so this is where it begins. I asked why when it makes no sense why I travelled all the way down after already paying for an order I made just the night before, just to come in and pay more. David said he can't promise anything but that he'd text the owner as he was in a meeting. A few minutes pass and he shares he'll reach out to his manager to see if the manager can connect with the owner, to confirm if they can honor the price I had originally paid. Owner gets back to David and shared they will not honor what I paid online, even though I kindly pointed out that no one mentioned when I called the same morning that if I come in to pick up and cancel online order for shipping, that they wouldn't be able to honor same price. Anyway, bad business practice period. As for a first time visitor and being a potential regular patron, they ruined my evening and experience. I'll be sure to pass the word along that Hi Proof isn't worth the visit, nor is it worth patronizing, especially since something so very simple in business, such as a simple courtesy, they couldn't even extend. For those looking for the same bottle that Hi Proof could have sold to me last night, go visit Valley Market Liquor in Walnut (they have a fantastic selection and the owners know how business is done right)...I just picked up the Boss Hogg XII and many more bottles to accompany it today for $10 less. Great experience there people were nice,helpful, and knowledgeable..my first big rare bottles Asmith Bourbon and Kavalan vino whiskey 😀

They have an amazing selection of Additive-free Tequila, hard to find Bourbon and Ryes, single-malt and blended Scotch Whisky and a decent amount of fine wines at the best prices around. The store looks great like a high-end boutique but with low prices, I highly recommend you stop by, but if you're too far check them out online because they ship to all of California at a flat rate. I wish them the best, the owner Roy and his staff are a great team!

For the size of the store, you can't beat the selection at Hi Proof. I count on them for some of my favorites that I can never seem to find at other places. They have a great selection of high end stuff and they have great deals when you buy Sazerac brands. The store has a warehouse vibe to it due to the small size and large selection but I'm not one to make myself at home in a store. I hesitated to do this review because I would hate to see the supply dwindle. But if you like great liquor and you're looking for something in particular, you should check them out in store or online. You can buy online and pick up if you don't want to wander the store.

Recent visit adjust my score to 3/5. Some issues after few years being customer. Customer service has been poor but seems worse. Will not be assisted and constant stocking and placing cases in front of shelf can't see product. Prices for allocated or rare are nearing secondary, if not that you have to buy bundles to get fair prices. Lastly while it seems organized issues with inventory such as things mislabelled or missing label and items in wrong location. Still recommend for shelf spirits but due to not living locally and it being such a far drive and issues I will no longer be shopping here. It's unfortunate, hopefully they can fix.

We traveled from Redlands to see what this store had to offer, and were not disappointed! An amazing selection of whiskeys throughout the store; we ended up leaving with five bottles! Can't wait to make another trip back out, thanks Hi Proof!! Oh and super cute puppy in there as well! 😁

Every Lunar New Year we search for a top shelf Lunar themed bottle this year it was the 1942. They had it, sold it to us online. Pick up was straightforward and quick. Item was what we wanted and priced more than fair for it's uniqueness and availability. Hi Proof may be our option 1 moving forward.

Fabulous prices and selection. Order fulfillment took longer than other online retails I have purchased from and I didn’t get my tracking information without following up which is also something I hadn’t experienced with other online retailers. That aside, the order arrived as expected, it just took longer than expected. I would buy from them again albeit with adjusted expectations.

Picking up wines. They have variety of interesting rare wines and other liquors. The staff is very nice and helpful. The store is pretty organized. The prices are good too.

Just got my first delivery. My complete order was safely packed. Great low prices. I'll be back for more.

I'm pretty upset with my experience here. I went in looking for a bottle as a gift for my brother-in-law and made it very clear to the employee that I wanted something not smoky. That was literally my only request. The bottle they recommended ended up being extremely smoky--to the point where it's completely undrinkable for someone who doesn't like that flavor profile. It cost me over $160, and when I contacted the store, the employee did apologize, but basically said there was nothing they could do--no return, no exchange, no real solution. I trusted their recommendation and spent good money on a gift that now feels like a complete waste. Disappointing experience and not the kind of customer service I'd expect for that price point. I won't be coming back.

Small shop but stacked! Reasonable prices and great service. Will return and glad it's just around the corner from my neighborhood. Parking looks small in front but plenty of spots in the back if needed.

Bait and switch, but with proof. Bought a bottle thinking it was Balcones 146.4 proof as advertised on their website. Took it home and it was 125 proof Balcones. Same bottle shape and label. So I called 2 days later and someone there told me to bring it back for a refund. I get there five days later and they told me that the refund was not possible. I think this is a their plan to get rid of their old stock that they cannot sell. I buy a lot of bourbon, but at this point, I will not be returning to High Proof. Simple refund or exchange for another item would not leave a bad taste in my mouth. Bad customer service and bad business practice. This is response to the owner. First, you are completely wrong assuming that I'm returning the bottle because I had change of mind. Second, bottle was behind the locked glass. When customer asks for the bottle, and you have several different bottles, it would be nice to ask which bottle you prefer. Lastly, one of your employee, on the phone, said I can return the bottle. You as an owner should properly train your employee, so that they don't give false information over the phone.

Fair prices and plenty of great choices. A go to place for whiskey and or tequila. Great barrel picks from HP and from West Coast Whiskey Club.

One of the better whisky and bourbon spots in Orange County, Hi Proof has really filled a void for finding fair-priced allocated bottles that is missing from larger chain stores. I've purchased here twice and have been impressed with the selection. They have a seasonal Sazerac special- where you can make a minimum purchase to allow for lower prices on BTAC and other allocated bourbon bottles. It's a great deal and service has always been friendly upon pickup. Would recommend Hi Proof as a great locally opened spot for whisky, bourbon and spirits.

If you want the best, this place has got it. If they don't have they will find it for you at a great price. Not your every day liquor store, the Beverly Hills of liquor.... lol Love the people and their commitment to quality and rare finds.

Their website is so BAD and their customer service is the WORST I have ever dealt with. I ordered 2 bottles of very expensive Tequila and they sent me a bottle of inexpensive whiskey and then they ignored me when I asked them to fix the problem! They had no idea what they are doing and they don't care who their customers are for sure!!!

I'm a huge fan! I usually order online through their website and pick up my items in-store later. What impresses me most is the exceptional customer service--the cashier I've met twice remembers me and is always professional and efficient. They get me checked out right away! Kudos to the shop--they truly are the best!

I felt like a bit of a lush asking for 8 bottles of Blanton's, but the team here didn't blink. They made the process so easy and even handpicked the best-looking bottles to impress our clients. Quick, helpful service and a killer selection--I'll definitely be back for my own whiskey stash! The ambiance is fantastic--clean, well-organized, and welcoming, with shelves full of gems for any whiskey lover. It's the kind of place where you feel like browsing turns into discovering your next favorite bottle.

They have a very nice collection of all kinds of spirits. They even have some spirits you wouldn't expect or think of. That's how I found out about Brazilian liqueur. The tastings and experience are awesome, and they sure hit. The prices are great too, which is a plus for most people. The rum I bought is good and I'm not much of a sipper, but it's perfect. I also like that they have a lot of mixers and bitters and other things you could use to complete and stock up your home bar with, even things I didn't know about. I will be coming back !

OK, you heard it here first! Hi Proof here in Fullerton is going to be one of the best places to buy all of your high-end spirits and wines! They have only been open about two weeks and you can see the showroom floor already forming into something spectacular! I definitely suggest you come in and say hi to Joseph. Super nice gentleman who's looking to meet a lot of the local residence looking to have a great time in the spirits realm!

I couldn't figure out a way to reply to the business owner on my previous review, so I don't know what to do except to write another review. I spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars a month on allocated bourbons and this is the first and only charge back I've done on a liquor store to date. I received the wrong version of 1792 (single barrel, which is readily available locally as opposed to Full Proof), corresponded with the business, received another incorrect bottle, and they never responded to additional correspondences about the matter and felt forced to respond via my credit card company. They replied to my previous review of the store about being wary of online orders in regards to an order I placed online after the fact that they cancelled, however my original desire was to never file my credit card complaint initially. The store just ignored my original complaints to correct my initial corrections and I felt that I had no other choice. I'm sure their selection is great, but their customer service especially online is very subpar and felt the need to express that

WOW! You have to check this unique place out! I would consider this to be a small, local, high-end "boutique" liquor store. This is NOT a typical liquor store or just another convenience store that sells liquor. They have an excellent selection of bourbons, whiskeys, vodkas, tequilas, wines, and more. They also have various rare and allocated products at very fair and reasonable prices! Be sure to also visit their website for new items. As long as they continue to support their customers with a great selection and fair pricing, this will continue to be my go-to store. Thank you, Hi Proof! You Rock!

This place just opened in the past few days, and wow, the selection right now is great, he is getting new items every day, and he offers retail pricing (what a concept right?) on almost everything. Blanton's, check, Richters 10yr, check. It is also crazy close to my house, so I have to be careful....already visited twice in 2 days....

I found Hi Proof by accident while searching for a bourbon online and didn't realize it was about 15 mins from my home. I stopped by, picked up my order and ended up browsing the store. Ended up with another bottle and a fair price compared to Total Wine and BevMo and even other liquor stores. This is a local gem and they have a really great selection. I'll definitely be dropping in more often to get my bourbon fix. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I didn't feel rushed or anything. It was a vibe.

Hi Proof offers a great selection of affordable and pricier bottles. The prices can range quite a bit, depending on the brand and age of the bottle. The shop is small, but the prices are fair and even a bit lower compared to other stores. The service could improve a bit since we weren't greeted, and we didn't have a single interaction with the staff. I'm normally used to staff asking if we need assistance, but they seem to just let you browse peacefully here.

The best whisky boutique shop I've ever seen. The premium whisky selection is impressive and prices were very good. I realized that they often get allocated bottles and other shipments that get snatched away by visiting customers even before getting entered into the website. So, I check in with them regularly and ask for what came in recently. Roy, the shop owner, is knowledgeable and friendly. A very pleasant whisky lover and an expert. The attitude of the staff is perfect for me as they are eager to assist but not pushy. It's a smaller shop and they want you to feel comfortable browsing without feeling pressured. I was recently able to get some good scotch from Hi Proof and I will continue to shop here.

One of the best little honey holes of bourbon I've found! Great selection and great prices, it's rare to find a place that is both, and was very impressed! I found this randomly on Google while out #bourbonhunting. I got to chatting with the owner for a bit about some bottles I was interested(the Peerless Double Oaked) and he gave me a pour of it to try since I was debating on it, and he said they've been there for 4 months now. If you are ever in #Anaheim area in #SoCal and hunting, definitely check this place out.

Has bottles that are hard to find at a good price . It's one of my 3 places I go to find unicorn bottles. Definitely going there again

I love this place. They have a truly great selection of Scotches and other whiskies. Their selection of gin is smaller but respectable with some interesting choices. Their prices are unbeatable, don't assume you're getting a better deal from the big shops, check this place out.

do not buy from these people unless you walk into the store their customer service is nonexistent, who knows when you'll get anything when you buy it and want it shipped definitely go to another site if you're shipping

They have great selection and prices... however I placed a pick up order which I drove over an hour for and even though each item said it was in stock when I showed up two of the items were not available because they had given them to other people. I was refunded, but those were the two items I main. Updating: was able to get what I wanted via delivery and the price for glenglassaugh is unbeatable. Updating to 5 star.

Found this place through a YouTube recommendation. Bought some whiskeys and tequilas I've been looking for prices cheaper than Total Wine. Bonus, they were having some special on allocated bourbons while I was there. I snagged a Staggs and Weller 107. Staff was really friendly and offered some great recommendations.

Store - new, nice decor, very clean. Products - good selection of top shelf and some unicorns. Prices - the items I looked at or bought were fairly priced, a little less expensive than elsewhere. Customer Service - friendly and nice. Definitely added to my favorite stores.

I've bought online, so i haven't experienced their store yet. They package the bottles well and shipped the bottles quickly. They have competitive pricing and they are my go to for a lot of my tequila selections.

This place is amazing. They have good selection and reasonably priced items. Also, they provide the best customer service. They are so nice. They renovated the whole place, so it's clean and neat. I highly recommend to locals.

Update 2/21/25 - Just wanted to say thanks to Alana, who was nice enough to reach back out to me via email after the bottle I ordered came back in stock and set one aside so I could place an order. The bottle was received a couple days ago and I am very happy with it. I will keep Hi Proof in mind for future orders! I have taken it upon myself to update my rating accordingly. ‐-------------------------- Update 2/4/25 - My order was cancelled and refunded after I posted this review. ‐-------------------------- Placed an online order with Hi Proof for a single bottle about 2 weeks ago and still have not received any tracking info or updates on the order status. I have emailed multiple times to see what the hold up is and I have yet to receive a single response. I tried calling also, but it seems the listed phone number is no longer accepting calls. At this point I'm starting to think I just need to do a chargeback... Update - My order was cancelled and refunded after I posted this review.

This is a great place to order whiskey online. I ordered a bottle of Arran 21 and it arrived within 2 days in very durable packaging. Fast service, good selection, and reasonable prices. With so many scammers out there, it's great to find a place you can trust.

Great place. I have found everything I can't find in my area. They are super easy to work with. Fast shipping. Decent pricing. Communication is fast. I will definitely continue to buy from them, and if I ever get to California I will make a point to stop and see them.
